Whirlpool of magic in Dragon's Dogma 2: give the grimoires to Trisha or not

In Dragon's Dogma 2, the Pool of Magic is a side quest in which you will need to find five grimoires and decide whether to give them to Trisha or not. In the first case, you will then have to deplete the girl's magical reserves without attacking her. If you make the right choice, you can receive very valuable rewards. In this guide, we will tell you how to start and complete the task with the best result for yourself.

How to start the task

< p>Move north from the village of Melve and at the next fork, located near the camp fire, turn left and down. In this thicket of the forest you will find Eini’s small house. Enter it and listen to a short argument between a girl named Trisha, who wants to learn magic, and her grandmother.

Next, wait the moment when grandma leaves the house, and only after that talk to the child. Trisha will ask you to bring her any magical volumes so that she can learn witchcraft on her own.

How to bring Trisha several grimoires

Although the girl will say that any magic books will suit her, in reality you will need to bring her the same grimoires that you gave Myrddin during the quest “Respect for the Sorcerer.” In the corresponding article, we talked in detail about their location and the creation of fakes.

Note that in order to receive the maximum reward, we advise you to give the sorcerer the fake magic volumes, and Trisha the originals. Let's add that you can only give the girl three books and then say “That's it”, but some players have reported that after this they were unable to get the Magician's Notes scroll from her.

Regardless of which grimoires you give her – real or fake – you will still be able to get from her the Turquoise Ring, which does not give any goodies, but is only proof of friendship with Trisha.

How to visit Trisha through a few days

After handing over the books, go about your business or waste time by creating a camp near the nearest fire. Sleep until morning, and then return to Eini's house again. At this point, the first plot branch awaits you:

  • If you give a girl fakes, she will notice that they are written strangely, but she will still be disappointed in her magical abilities and decide to give up studying witchcraft. This will immediately end the quest, and you will receive only 2000 experience points and 3000 gold coins.
  • If you gave the girl the originals, she will learn spells, but will not be able to control them, and will start attacking everyone with them. The task will continue.

Note: If you wait a day, but nothing happens when you arrive at the house, then Eini is most likely dead (she can be attacked by wolves when she walks through the forest). In this case, go to the morgue located near the Vermund Funeral Home and revive the old lady using the awakening stone. After this, the mission will continue.

How to drain Trisha's magical reserves

The girl will stand on the canopy of the house and cast spells at you. Do not attack her under any circumstances, but only dodge her magical attacks. Keep the pawns to yourself, preventing them from hitting Trisha.

Soon the child will teleport to the stone in front of the hut and will stop attacking you, being in a semi-fainting state. At this moment, run up to her and grab her by pressing the RT button. Hold her for a few seconds to calm her down, and then chat with Eini. She will ask you to drop by a little later, when the girl wakes up.

Note: If you couldn’t restrain yourself and accidentally killed Trisha, then it doesn’t matter, since you can simply revive her awakening stone, and then the quest will continue.

Wait for Trisha to awaken

Use the camp fire again to sleep until the next morning, then return to Eini's house. Trisha will automatically speak to you and thank you for saving her. This will bring the quest to an end. As a reward, you will receive 2000 experience points, 3000 gold and the Spell Gem staff.

Be sure to chat again with Trisha, who will give you the Magician's Notes, upon studying which the sorcerer will be able to unlock the Meteor spell. Then talk to Eini, from whom you will receive the Caster's Almanac, which teaches the magician the extremely useful support skill “Song of Heaven”.

Note that if Trisha and Eini do not give you scrolls, this means that your relationship with them is not at a high enough level. To boost them, you need to give them gifts, such as bouquets of flowers. You can give one gift once a day.
