Rainbow Trail is a new craftable four-star weapon that will be released in Genshin Impact in version 5.0. It is one of the few copies in the game that buffs the character's defense and is the signature weapon of the new character Kachina. How to get Rainbow Trail in Genshin Impact
Since version 5.0 has not yet been released, there is no reliable information on how you can get the diagram for crafting this spear. But it is highly likely that the system will be the same as in Sumeru or Fontaine – diagrams can be exchanged with local fishermen for catching certain fish or with a blacksmith for collected curiosities.
How to get Rainbow Trail for free
All players will be able to get the spear thanks to the web event “Going to the Land of Pyro!”, where it was necessary to collect a certain number of applause to unlock all the rewards. How to make a Rainbow Trail
To craft it, you will need the following materials:
- A new, unique to Natlan blank – the Borderlands Spear Blank (obtained from Punishment Dungeons in Natlan).
- 50 Condensing Crystals – an ore that can be found in the Hydro and Pyro regions.
- 50 White Iron Fragments.
- 500 Mora.
To fully awaken the spear, four more identical copies of the weapon will be required, which can also be forged if you have the necessary materials.

How to upgrade Rainbow Trail
To upgrade the Rainbow Trail, you will need certain materials. The screenshot below shows exactly what resources are needed to fully upgrade it.
To upgrade the spear, you will need weapon upgrade materials from the Holy Sage series, which can be obtained in the Natlana dungeon., materials dropped by the Mysterious Source Automaton, and materials from the Zaurian-like Tribal Warriors.
Who is the Rainbow Trail good for?
There aren't many defensively-oriented spearmen in the game. It's a pretty narrow-focused weapon, but it can be very useful in the hands of certain characters. There are currently two heroines in the game who are great at the Rainbow Trail.

As already mentioned, this spear is suitable for a limited number of characters, but it fits perfectly into their build and makes playing both geo spearwomen as easy as possible, without requiring special game mechanics. The passive is activated by using an elemental skill and no longer requires any additional conditions, providing a damage boost to Kachina and a better buff to Yun Jin.
