In Dragon Age The VeilguardTaash is one of the possible love paths in the game. To start and progress, you need to fulfill certain requirements, including completing the companion's personal quests and choosing the right options in dialogues with her. In this guide, we will tell you how to do this and gain the approval of the Qunari.
Key Features of the Taash Romance in The Veilguard
Joining a Companion to the Party and Requirements for Starting the Romance
After completing the events in Minrathous or Treviso, your party will begin searching for Taash, who is considered one of the best dragon slayers in the world. She will automatically join you after you complete the main quest “Dragonslayer”. Thus, you will not have to do any additional actions.
Besides, there are no special requirements for this character to become Rook's chosen one, meaning you can start showing love interest to the Qunari almost as soon as you have the opportunity.
Tips for Strengthening Relationships with Taash
Let's note right away that you don't have to attach much importance to the approval rating, since it is mainly required to increase the level of combat comradeship and open additional skill points, that is, you will be able to develop a love relationship with this warrior even with low rates of this parameter.
How then to express your love for this horned lady? Everything is quite simple – you need to choose answers with a heart icon whenever possible, thereby flirting with the girl and directly showing her your intentions. The picture below shows an example of such a response. In the section with approvals, we have indicated all the correct dialogue options.
Naturally, you also need to complete Taash's personal quests. In fact, they allow you to advance your romance with her. We will examine this aspect in more detail below.
Developing a Romance with Taash
As we noted above, this heroine will join you closer to the second half of the game, but her first personal quest, “Fire on the Sand,” can be taken almost immediately after the Qunari joins the party. You will simply need to visit her at the Lighthouse and talk to her (you may have to refresh the location several times).
Important: Regularly visit the Lighthouse after completing story quests and look at the map for additional icons near Taash's portrait. They indicate the possibility of starting a dialogue with the character or taking a quest from him. During such conversations, choose the lines with a heart.
After completing her first quest, you can continue flirting with the Qunari. After completing the main mission “Shades of Blight” or “Something's Wrong”, talk to her again at the Lighthouse to take on the second quest, “Dragon Class”.
Continue progressing through the main story by completing the Siege of Weisshaupt, then return to the Lighthouse and talk to Taash again. When the scene occurs and she asks you, “So what is it?”, be sure to click on the answer, “I'm interested, if you're interested,” demonstrating to her that you are interested in developing a casual love relationship. That's when the “Sympathy” and a heart icon will appear under your relationship level in the “Companions” section.
You will also have the opportunity to complete Taash's third personal quest, “The Little Dragon Hatches.” It is within this quest that you will face a key moment in developing your relationship with the girl. When the Qunari asks Rook, “Who does she want me to be?”, be sure to tell her the following:
- “She cares for you, as I do” – this will oblige you to continue the romance only with Taash.
All other options will lead to the termination of the romantic relationship with the warrior. So, having chosen the right answer, you will see a cute cutscene with Taash, and in the “Companions” section near the relationship level, the status “In love” will appear. From this moment on, it will no longer be possible to cancel the romance, but you will be able to unlock additional scenes by progressing through the story and completing the remaining personal quests of the heroine. For example, her mission “Secrets of the Qunari” will begin almost immediately.
You can take on the fifth quest, “Killing the Fanged Scorcher,” after completing the story mission, “Fire and Ice.” Then complete “Blood of Arlathan” to take the quest “The Lair of the Dragon King” from your companion. The remaining two quests, “Fiery Words” and “Horns and Halla on the Hilt,” will open without any additional conditions. This way, you will see almost all possible scenes with her. You can watch them in the video below.
Fun fact: If you do not develop a relationship with either Harding or Taash, a romance will develop between the two. However, to do this, you must advise Taash to give Harding cheese, archery gear, or jewelry.
A Gift for Taash
We also recommend that you definitely purchase a unique gift for the Qunari. We are talking about Priceless Ancient Trinkets, which you can buy from a merchant in the Fortune Lords camp. To do this, you will have to spend 90 gold and 10 flawless crystals. By giving the gift to Taash, you will complete the accompanying quest.
Approval for Taash
The table below shows all the types of response options in dialogues that are likely to be approved by Taash. We also indicated in which situations they should be selected.
