In Genshin Impact“Ruins of the Seven Colors” is the third part of the quest chain “The Truth about the Battle of the Seven Colors” and the penultimate stage of Citlali's personal quest. To find evidence of the historicity of the legendary battle, correspondents from Fontaine, together with the hero and Citlali, head to a hidden dungeon. During the investigation, the true motives of Montluçon are revealed, intending to destroy all mentions of the wonderful color that made Huitzilin famous.
In this guide, we will tell you how to start and complete the penultimate stage of the personal quest of the priestess of Itzli, get to the “Ruins of the Seven Colors” and find the exit from the labyrinth along the multi-colored slabs.
Walkthrough of the quest “Ruins of the Seven Colors”
The quest will become available after completing the previous stage, “Great Shaman, I Beg You!”, which was described in a separate guide.
Head to the meeting place
Exploration of the ruins begins at 11 a.m. the next day, and if you started the mission immediately after the last stage, scroll the in-game clock to the interval between 11:00 and 13:00. Then move to the teleporter to the east of the local Archon statue.
The heroes and Sitlali arrive at the agreed place first and exchange a few phrases after their joint rest last night, and when Montluçon's group pulls up, they all take the path to the entrance to the former Chicomostoc cave together.
Find the ruins
From the previous location, go down to the narrow opening between the rocks to the east. Sitlali will use her power and show the party the entrance, opening the passage to the Ruins of the Seven Colors.
Enter the dungeon
Exploration of the battle site is arranged in the form of a dungeon, for which it is recommended to take Anemo and Cryo characters into the squad. Please note that during the playthrough, the fifth participant will be Sitlali – her abilities will help overcome vertical distances.
Before delving into the partially Void-infested ruins, Sitlali asks the companions not to touch anything.
Go deeper into the ruins
From the entrance, move forward and turn right to the first large section of the cave. The team comes across a purple barrier, and Montluçon has time to ask the Fatui hired earlier to inspect the entire area.
Move Forward
Climb up to the barrier and take the purple sphere on the left – while you have it, all barriers of this color will have no density. With the colored ball, go through the field to the next section of ruins.
Sitlali suggests that the way to pass through the color barriers is part of the mysterious Huitzilin technique. But the party will find even more answers ahead.
Continue to explore the ruins
To the left of the wooden bridge made of planks there is one ordinary chest – we take it and run forward to the edge of the cliff with a flagpole. Before crossing the gap, leave the purple sphereon the receiver on the left. Then make Sitlali the active hero (or any convenient character with the flight technique) and move forward along the slabs (with the spacebar pressed, Sitlali can glide like an ictomisaurus).
Behind the cliff, we collect the rich chest and finish the journey by crossing the blue barrier (before that, take the blue light on the left).
Leave the labyrinth
For unknown reasons, the entire squad ends up in a huge space built on the principle of the Kingdom of Night, but woven from the memories of its creator, Huitzilin. A fragment of the shaman's mind wishes the guests good luck in their search for truth.
Please note: all paths in the labyrinth lead to the same trials, so it doesn't matter which path you choose.
We will divide the passage of the labyrinth into two forks that will be on the path of lost explorers.
- First fork: choose any direction → climb the soaring plates with a clamped jump of Sitlali → defeat a couple of creatures of the Abyss, similar to geo saurians → pass through the pink barrier, having captured the sphere on the receiver on the left before.
- Second Fork: choose any direction → fall down to the level below and choose any path again → fall down one last time and defeat a few more monsters → take the golden sphere and go through the barrier.
With the golden sphere, you will reach a straight path of multi-colored blocks. Here you need to use the flight skills of the heroes or Sitlali and try not to hit the golden plates – while the sphere is with us, they will not have density.
Avoid the golden sections of the path, climb the blue plate and walk along the arched bridge to the exit of the labyrinth.
Stop Montluçon and his squad
Having found the source of the unique color, Montluçon finally reveals his motives: the man wants to destroy all evidence of the battle and become the sole creator of the unique paint, which he had previously “accidentally” invented in Fontaine. The hired Fatui, who are contractually obliged to protect the employer, stand up for the deceiver.
After a frank conversation, we need to defeat Grudok— the leader of the mercenaries, who took the form of a pyro Fatui agent. If you defeat him, the rest of the enemies will disappear on their own.
The bandits lose to the hero and the powerful shaman, but at the last moment they damage the core of the labyrinth, thereby throwing everyone back into the Realm of Memory. The traveler finds a way to the disappeared Sitlali, and she manages to talk to the remnants of her old friend's mind. Huitzilin explains that she passed on her technique to Sitlali herself long ago. And the bonds of friendship that led the heroes lost in the labyrinth to the priestess are a demonstration of how powerful memories are. Afterwards, everyone safely gets out of the space.
Catch Montluçon
It remains to catch up with Montluçon – run from the exit of the ruins to the left and approach the group of ictomisaurs who detained the villain.
The Claw has already been warned by the priestess and will now take care of the intruder himself, and the heroes only have to deal with a special scroll – this is where the quest ends.
Rewards
At the end of the mission, we will be given a few more experience books, moras and ores (the amount depends on the account rank). The list of quests will immediately show the landmark of the last stage – the quest “The Color of Memories”.
