In Genshin Impact, “Rilai” is a cryocrystal cannon-wielding warrior who is part of the Pyro region's local legends. She plays the flute south of the Night Wind Lords clan, in the Tezcatepetonco Ridge region. If you enter the battle and fulfill certain conditions, you will collect one achievement from the Duelist II collection for three victories.
This guide will show you how to find and defeat Rylai, while collecting all of her achievements. Let's take a look at how the warrior attacks and what commands to take to fight her.
Rylai achievements: how to unlock them all
Each of the three battles with Rylai can end with a new achievement for you if you fulfill the following conditions:
- 1st achievement (+5 Primogems): Defeat “Rilai” for the first time;
- 2nd Achievement (+10 Primogems): Defeat “Rilai” while she is attacking with Molten Star;
- 3rd Achievement (+20 Primogems): Defeat “Rilai” during Molten Star without touching any of her attacks.
To get each achievement you will have to select a separate battle. Rilai takes longer to recover than regular enemies and bosses, so if you don't use other players' worlds, it will take about three days to collect the achievements.
Where is the local legend “Rilai”
Rylai can be found near the teleporter located southwest of the Nightwind Lords reputation marker. From the teleporter marked on the map above, immediately run to the right until you see an altar with Rylai playing in front of the animals. If you do not interrupt her performance, the legend will not pay attention to the new listener. Therefore, the fight will begin if you attack her or the animals first (the duel with another local legend, Sappho Among the Waves, begins in the same way).
Rylai's Combat Techniques
Rilai can definitely be called one of the most powerful local legends: her attacks are dynamic and fast, the girl practically never stands still, is able to teleport and is dangerous at both close and long ranges.
At the very beginning of the fightyou will be in for a “trap” as shown in the video above: Rylai moves to the center of the arena and casts a cryo aura around herself, hitting which will cause you to take minor damage.
- Melee
Perhaps Rylai's only melee attack is a double strike with a hand cannon (in the video above). But this does not mean that the other techniques are used only from afar. The Legend easily casts any shots even at point-blank range.
This is not only an independent attack, but also an element of the end of the “Molten Star” (in the video above) – at the end of the technique, Rylai jumps towards the opponent and strikes from above with his heavy weapon.
- Ranged combat
Rilai has several shooting options. The most “harmless” is a short volley of cryo-cubes, which, although with weak guidance, fly straight at the active hero.
You should be wary of icicle shots, as they not only very quickly pursue the active member of the squad, but also fly out at once 6-8 pieces, and there can be two or three such attacks in a row.
In addition to independent attacks by Rylai, soaring barrels periodically appear in the arena – the legend sometimes deliberately throws them at our heroes (from his personal arsenal).
- Short and Long Molten Star
Rylai's signature move, Molten Star, has two forms – short and long. During the short one (video above), Rylai fires four volleys into the air, each landing exactly where the target is, before the legend immediately fires cryo cubes at his enemy.
The long phase of “Molten Star”, associated with obtaining the second and third achievements, begins like this: Rylai moves closer to the center of the arena and freezes in place, and chaotic ice fields are created in a large radius around (mostly close to our character), which explode almost immediately. Barrels also appear in the area, which burst when the closest cryo ring is detonated.
Teams for fighting “Rilai”
Rilai is a difficult legend, and you need to be extremely focused when fighting her. The best team will almost always be the one you are most accustomed to, but we have some additional tips:
- It is better to attack Rilai from close range – this way the legend will not be able to use “Molten Star” too often, so swordsmen and spearmen are a priority;
- Choose heroes with a short cooldown, but at the same time a long animation of skills (like Yun Jin's E-shka), who are in a state of invulnerability during their use – this will help to avoid damage;
- Take those who attack from the pocket (Fischl, Ororon, Furina, Yae Miko, Xiangling) to be able to passively deal damage while the active hero dodges Rylai's techniques;
- Good sustain will help you not to think about incoming damage during your static attacks. It is better to take a shielder together with or even instead of a healer (relevant if you don't have upgraded damage dealers and have big problems with survivability).
Reline doesn't have invulnerability to specific elements, so you can take heroes of absolutely any element. Below we will give just some examples of possible squads:
- F2P teams
MAIN-DD | SUB-DD | SUPPORT | HILL/SHIELD |
---|---|---|---|
Ka Min | Ororon/Xiang Ling | Bennett/Fischl | Cookie |
If you only have epic heroes at your disposal, give preference to pocket damage dealers (Fischl, Xiangling, Ororon), and take the most pumped character, sharpened for close combat (Ka Ming, Razor or Heizo) as the main DD. And since you will have to move a lot, it will be easier to maintain the health of the squad with the passive heal of Cookie or Barbara.
- Legendary teams
MAIN-DD | SUB-DD | SUPPORT | HILL/SHIELD |
---|---|---|---|
Ayaka/Rizley | Furina | Shen He | Xian Yun |
Mualani | Dehya | Emilia | Shilonen |
Chaska | Xing Qiu | < /p> Fischl | Sitlali |
With five-star heroes, the options for packs become more numerous, but the essence remains the same: focus on close combat and maneuverability. You will benefit from heroes with invisible sprint or skills for movement (Shilonen, Mualani, Ye Lan, Ayaka, Chaska), thanks to which you will be able to dodge cryo rings, barrels or homing shots in a timely manner.
Rilai has a slight weakness to immobilization by geo elements, so a team with Navia/Itto, Albedo and Zhongli is also suitable for passing. Due to regular micro-stuns, the legend will bring less difficulties with constant movement around the field.
- Useful heroes
Hero | Use |
---|---|
Furina Yae Miko | Choose heroes like Furina, Yae Miko, or Fischl to be able to deal ranged damage to Rilai. |
Xian Yun Ye Lan Lynette | Characters like Xian Yun, Ye Lan, or Lynette are able to quickly dodge Rilai's surprise attack. Mona and Ayaka with their maneuverable sprint can also be added here. |
Zhong Li < /p>Citlali | Having a shield does not guarantee you a quick completion of the third achievement, but under the protection of Zhongli or Sitlali, you can take your usual ranged damage dealers (archers or catalysts) into your squad. |
Yun Jin | If you are playing with Yun Jin, use a long press of her E when there is no way to dodge Rilai's attack – at this time the heroine will be protected from any damage. |
How to defeat “Rilai”
Preparation for a fight with a local legend always includes the use of food for strengthening. Against Rilaj, in addition to standard buffs for damage and defense, use food to reduce stamina consumption (you will have to dodge often and quickly). During the fight, try to use the tips below to make it easier to get all the achievements.
- Lower the world level or go to a low-level player;
At the maximum level of the world, the fight with Rylai can bring a lot of “pain”, so it will be easier to lower the difficulty for a day, and only then deal with the legend. This advice will be a real salvation for those who spent more than one day even just to defeat this mini-boss.
- Deal passive damage and watch your movement;
Rylai attacks with combo chains made up of moves, shots, and cryo rings. It's easier to run away from such tactics than to defend against them, so any characters that deal damage from the pocket will be useful. This is especially true for Furina, whose summons can independently pursue enemies.
Try not to take Rylai far from the center of the arena and be prepared for her to move and start the Molten Star technique. We also do not recommend using hero skills that make it difficult to track the enemy (like Kazuha's ult).
- Stay as close to the legend as possible;
When close, Rylai uses Molten Star much less often. Plus, if you have characters in your party that can geo stun (like Zhongli's ult), the legend will be immobilized for a short time, making her immune to damage.
- For the third achievement, you can't take damage only during Molten Star;
The last two achievements are given if you defeat Rylai during her special move. It is easier to dedicate most of the fight to attack and self-defense, and when her HP drops to a minimum, purposefully wait for the “Molten Star” and finish off the enemy.
For the third achievement, so that you do not get hit by any “Molten Star” attack, charge all the damaging skills in advance and hit Rylai at the very beginning of this move. Keep track of where the enemy is moving so as not to miss the start moment, and do not rely on shields – even if the HP is not spent, the conditions will not be met.
How to repeat the fight with “Rilai”
After the last victory over Rilai, you will have to wait 12 hours. It turns out that to complete three achievements, you will have to allocate 3 days, or use the worlds of friends or other players.
