In Silent Hill 2 Remake, the safe in room 206 in the Woodside residential complex is another puzzle, to solve which you will need to solve the riddle and correctly determine the code. Inside this vault you will be able to find the coin “Man” and the steel key. In this guide we will tell you how to get to this puzzle and solve it.

How to find a pen in the form of a golden apple
First of all, you need to find a pen in the form of a golden apple. To do this, go to room number 108, located on the first floor of the residential complex. We have described in detail how to get to the corridor with the necessary apartments in the guide to finding a gun (see the paragraph with the search for the key to the corridor of the 2nd floor).
After picking up the keys, turn around and go back, then enter the open apartment on the right (the door has the number 108). Then go to the living room and on the left you will see a large cabinet with strange handles in the form of hands. Interact with it, and then select the left handle and turn it to the right to lower it down. As a result, the cabinet will open, and a Golden Apple Handle will fall on the floor, which you will need to pick up.
How to get into the room 208 and find the safe
Now go up to the second floor and find a gun. Having obtained the weapon, start walking back, squeezing into the hole in the wall again, and you will find a corpse near the TV. On the right, on the nightstand, there will be keys to apartment 212. After taking them, return to the corridor where you previously found Pyromid Head behind bars and go through the door on the left.
Then go outside and enter another room, walking along the metal catwalk. This will take you to apartment 210. Deal with the monster and go out into the corridor. Kill another monster and move forward along the corridor until you reach apartment 208 at the very end.
Once inside, go to the living room and approach the large cabinet standing near the wall. Interact with it and place the golden apple found earlier in the left handle. This will open the cabinet. Now approach it from the left side and start pushing it to the right to open access to the gap leading to apartment 206.
Determining the code for the safe in room 206
Upon entering the new room, immediately turn around and interact with the wall to read the riddle, which is a hint to determining the correct combination for the safe in the center of the room.
We are talking about the pictures and the numbers written next to them: on the right are the roofs of houses (13), on the left is a chain of footprints (7) and on the right is a path to hell (11).
It is not necessary to find these images. You can simply view the correct code below (it is indicated for standard and high difficulty levels):
- Stop at the number “13” by turning the handle to the right.
- Stop at the number “7” by turning the handle to the left.
- Stop at the number “11” by turning the handle to the right.
When you have turned the handle three times to select the appropriate numbers, press the “Accept” button to open the safe. The gif above shows the entire process.
Important: If you are playing on easy difficulty, the combination will be slightly different: stop at the number “15” by turning the handle to the right, then at the number “11” (left) and finally at the number “13” (right).
Note that in the safe you can find the “Man” Coin, which is needed to solve the puzzle with the coin cabinet, and a steel key, opening the door of these apartments.
