In Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree, Shards of the Tree of Decadence are consumables that can permanently strengthen the main character , which significantly facilitates the passage of the Kingdom of Shadows. Some of them are located in open areas, while others are hidden inside dungeons and secret locations. In this guide, we'll show you how to find all of these items to max out your character.
How to use Decadence Tree Shards in Shadow of the Erdtree
With these materials, you will be able to increase the level of the Blessing of the Tree of Decay, and each new level will give you two extremely useful bonuses:
- Increase all damage inflicted on enemies.
- Increase the hero's resistance to all types of damage.
Considering that the enemies in the expansion are much stronger than in the original, we highly recommend that you try to collect all the fragments. Let's add that the above buffs only apply within the Realm of Shadows, that is, in Between-Earth their effects will immediately disappear.
If we talk about the use of fragments, then everything is quite simple. Find the nearest place of grace and take advantage of it. Then click on the “Blessing of the Shadow Realm” section and select the “Blessing of the Tree of Decadence” function in it. Your current level will be indicated in brackets.
In total, you can upgrade this parameter to level 20 by spending 50 fragments of the tree of decline. If at first it takes 1 shard to raise one level, then in the end you will have to spend 3 materials.
Where to find Shards of the Decadence Tree in Shadow of the Erdtree
Shards of the Decadence Tree 1 and 2
From the Plain of Graves place of grace, which you activate almost at the very beginning of the expansion, head east and reach the Temple of Solace on the hill. Enter and deal with several opponents, then approach the statue of Marika and pick up two items at once.

Blight Tree Shard 3
Reach or travel to the place of grace “Charred Ruins”, and then ride east to the gravestones near the cliff. To the left you will find a shadow carrying a pot on its head – you need to kill it before it disappears. The thing you need will fall out of it.

Reach or travel to the place of grace “The Cross of Three Roads”, located in the north of the Tombstone Plain, and then turn around and you will see the item you need near Mikella's cross. Here you can also talk with Freya and other characters.
Fragment of the Blight Tree 5
Reach or warp to the Cross at the Main Gate grace site, located just before the entrance to Belurat, the tower settlement. As usual, turn around and look for the thing near Mikella's cross. Here you can also find Mr. Ansbach and the merchant Moore.

Reach or travel to the place of grace “Last rest on the mountain road”, located southeast of Belurat. Then start running southwest along the path. Soon you will reach the cemetery, where there will again be a shadow with a jug on its head – quickly deal with it before it disappears, and then pick up the thing that dropped from it.

Reach or travel to the place of grace “Small Private Altar” located in Belurat, and then go through the western passage and go up the steps to the top. Turn left, going up another set of stairs, and then immediately turn right. When you reach a dead end, turn left again.

Move forward and turn left at the fork. Run further to the waterfall, but before reaching it, turn right and enter the building, and then go up the wooden ladder and exit the house. Immediately turn right and go up the steps.

Once at the top, turn left and go down, then go into the alley ahead and turn right again to the ruins of the building. Make your way through them to the passage below and enter it to enter the building. Inside, turn right, go up the steps and move forward until the very end until you see Mikella's cross, next to which lies the thing you need.

Reach or travel to the “Castle Front” location of grace , located near the passage to Ensis Castle. Then start moving southwest and soon you will see a statue of Marika, at the foot of which the item you need will lie.

From the previous “bonfire”, ride north along the road, until you reach the enemy camp. Here, near the destroyed wall, you will find a statue of Marika, at the foot of which lies the item you require. Be careful, as there is a fire golem wandering nearby.

From the last shard, start running west to the Temple of the Sacred Crusade. Go inside and deal with the Fire Knight Quilain who invades your world, then pick up the two fragments that are lying next to the statue.

Blight Tree Shard 15
Reach or travel to the place of grace “Ruins of Murt”, located east of Ensis Castle. There is a cross here, next to which lies the fragment you need. Here you can also meet Dane.

Note: You do not have to clear Ensis Castle to get to this area. The fact is that next to the Elder’s Hut in the south there is a spiritual source, thanks to which you can make a high jump on the Stream and get to the Fort of Reproach, and from there you can jump to the necessary “bonfire”.
