Starcaller's Vigil in Genshin Impact— the legendary catalyst and signature weapon of Sitlali. This narrow-focus gun, designed for shield catalysts, provides huge bonuses to both the wielder and the rest of the squad. In the guide, we will take a closer look at the parameters of the weapon and decide which characters should give it to.
How to get Starcaller's Vigil
The catalyst can be knocked out in the event weapon banner “Incarnation of the Divine”. Vigil will first appear in patch 5.3 along with Sitlali.
Starcaller's Vigil Main Stats
- Rarity: 5 Stars
- Base Attack: 44.34-541.83
- Elemental Mastery: 57.6-264.61
Passive effect: Increases MS by 100-200 units. When creating a shield, the wearer gains the Mirror of Night effect: the active hero's damage to nearby enemies is increased by 28-56% for 15 seconds. The effect occurs once every 14 seconds.
How to upgrade Starcaller's Vigil
The table below shows the materials required to upgrade the weapon at each level:
All you need is:
Holy Sage Materials can be obtained from the Ancient Watchtower dungeon on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
Broken Will, Clear Will, and Wandering Will resources can be obtained by defeating Wyob Avatars. These mystical creatures are found primarily on the mainland of Natlan, with the locations with the most enemies shown on the map below.
Various whistles drop from the Saurian-like warriors of the tribe. They can be found anywhere in the Pyro region: for example, you can farm a lot of whistles by moving west from the Sacred Flame Stadium along the riverbank.
Whistles and resources from Wyobe can also be purchased from the in-game store in the Paimon menu by spending Stardust or Glitter.
How to Awaken Starcaller's Vigil
To awaken the catalyst and increase the effect of the passive, you need to get a copy of the weapon, also by knocking it out in the event banner.
Who to give Starcaller's Vigil to
At the time of version 5.3, there are very few catalysts in the game that can create a shield, so the weapon cannot be called universal. Below, we will consider all the heroes who can benefit from this gun.
Character | Advantages |
---|---|
Sitlali | As a signature, the catalyst perfectly reveals all of Sitlali's skills. Elemental Mastery is useful for Grandma Itzli not only to create elemental reactions, but also to increase skill and ult damage when opening the second talent, as well as to increase shield durability. |
Bai Zhu | Elemental Mastery will be useful for a healer as a support DD and a driver who casts Dendro on enemies. The bonus to the active character's damage will also serve the main damage dealer in the team well. At the same time, the catalyst does not provide any bonuses to HP, which is essential for effective healing. |
Yan Fei | With C4, the Liyue Lawyer can create a shield after activating the ult. Catalyst can be a good fit for Yan Fei in reaction squads, giving a huge amount of elemental mastery and an increase to her own damage, but this will complicate the accumulation of critical mass in artifacts. |
Lan Yan | The girl is able to create a shield using an elemental skill. As a shielder, she will benefit more from attack power, while MC will be useful for support DD and driver. |
In extreme cases, Vigil can be given to Nahida or Sukrose as a stick for MC, but you will most likely have more suitable 4-star options.
How to play with Vigil of the Starcaller
Catalyst has a simple and straightforward passive, so the rotation will also be simple:
- Press the skills of other supports/support DDs.
- Activate the shield for the catalyst, causing an elemental reaction.
- Switch to main DD and deal as much damage as possible in 15 seconds.
Note that the damage dealt increases only by enemies “nearby”. It is unknown how limited this radius is, but it is worth considering that with archers like Gan Yu and other ranged heroes, the second part of the passive may not work, since it is important for them to stay as far away from enemies as possible.
