Sunday in Honkai Star Rail: a guide to the best build

In Honkai: Star RailResurrection is a 5-star character with the Imaginary combat type and the Path of Harmony. In a team, he serves as a support, buffing allies and promoting their actions. In this guide, we will tell you about his best build, light cones, and relics. You will also be able to learn about the most optimal squads with him.

Note: Former Follower of Order has not yet been officially released, so the information presented here is based on information obtained during beta testing. If necessary, we will update the guide when the hero appears in the game.

Main features of Resurrection

How to get Resurrection

This hero can only be obtained during the event Jump. In the near future, this banner will be launched as part of the first phase of the 2.7 update. If you want to be among the first to know about his next rerun, we recommend you bookmark this article.

Sunday in Honkai Star Rail: Guide to the Best Build

Let's add that HoYoverse has only given away a 5-star character once for winning the “Best Mobile Game of 2023” award, and never for completing various events, so it's highly likely that you'll only be able to unlock the former follower of Order by using Jumps.

Resurrection's Stat Progression

The table below shows how the hero's basic stats change as he levels up.

LevelAttack PowerDefense HPSpeed
1877316996
2017014232996
4032727263496
6048440393896
80640534124296

Note that his critical damage, critical hit chance, and taunt are 50%, 5%, and 100 respectively at any level, and his energy reserve is 130.

Resurrection Abilities

When using his basic attack “Bright Warning” deals imaginary damage to the enemy equal to 50~130% of their attack power. At the same time, it restores 20 units of energy and penetrates 30 units of tenacity.

Explanation: Standard, unremarkable attacks that deal little damage despite Resurrection's relatively high base attack power. You won't use them often, as they generate much less energy compared to the skill.

After using the skill “Blessing of Paper and Rites”, it allows the target ally and their summoned creature to immediately perform an action, and also increases their damage by 15-37.5%. If the target has a summoned creature, the effect of increasing its damage is additionally increased by 25-62.5% for two turns.

Using this skill on the Blessed One will restore 1 skill point. If used on an ally of the Path of Harmony, the immediate bonus will not work.

Explanation: If an ally has a summoned creature, then at level 10 of the Resurrection skill, he will receive an 80% bonus to damage for 1 turn (then the buff will decrease to 50%), which is a significant amount. If he is affected by the buff from Resurrection's ult, then the team will also restore 1 skill point.

In general, this skill repeats the Armor skill, but with one very pleasant exception – it can restore skill points even without opening Eidolons. It should be remembered that by moving your main DD forward, you speed it up, but at the same time the consumption of OP significantly increases. Armor partially solves this issue with E1, but Resurrection can cope with this already in the basic state.

After using the Ode to Feathers and Scars ultimate, he immediately restores 20% of the target ally's energy and transforms the character and the creature he summons into Blessed. Blessed's critical damage is increased by 12-39% of Resurrection's critical damage plus 8-14%. At the start of each hero's turn, the duration of the status is reduced by 1 turn, and it lasts for 3 turns in total. This bonus only works on the last target of the ultimate, with the exception of Resurrection itself. The effect is removed if Resurrection leaves the battle.

Explanation: Let's immediately pay attention to the long duration of the buff. Considering that Sunday is used according to the “-1” scheme, that is, it goes after the main damage dealer, then in theory this bonus can last up to 6 turns of the main DD. The only downside is the very high cost of the ult (130 units), which is why it will be extremely difficult or even impossible to charge it in 3 turns without a signature.

If you have to accumulate energy for 4 turns, then your damage dealer will have to attack enemies for 2 turns without buffs, plus, the consumption of skill points will increase. Of course, this is not critical, but the overall DPS of the squad will noticeably decrease. Let's add that the super ability should be activated after using the skill, but before the DD makes his move after moving his action forward, so that he can take advantage of all the bonuses.

As for the hero's passive talent – “Grieving Flesh”, it simply increases the target's critical hit chance by 10-25% for 3 turns, which significantly simplifies balancing crits. Rarely does a support hero have the ability to simultaneously increase two parameters: both critical damage and critical hit chance.

We also can't help but mention the “Magnificent Riddles” technique., the use of which allows you to increase the damage dealt to an ally by 50% for two turns after using the skill on him for the first time after the start of the battle.

Traces of Resurrection

In addition to the above abilities, the hero's upgrade tree also includes other buffs that provide passive bonuses or permanent increases to characteristics. They mainly increase his resistance to effects, critical damage and defense. You can see all the traces in the pictures below.

Sunday in Honkai Star Rail: a guide to the best build

Note that thanks to the “Sunday Longing” trait, Sunday will be guaranteed to restore at least 40 energy to an ally, despite his energy regeneration and maximum parameter reserve. This is a fairly significant number, which will allow the main DD to ult much more often.

“Majestic Swipe” will also allow Sunday to use his own ultimate ability 1 turn earlier at the start of combat, allowing you to spread out the damage of the entire team faster.

As for “Harbor of Tranquility in the Palm”, this is an extremely useful trace for a support, allowing him to remove debuffs from enemies. It will be extremely useful when fighting enemies that apply various negative effects.

Eidolons of Sunday

To unlock them, you need materials of the same name, which are given out when you drop duplicates of the hero, which, of course, is random. And given the rarity of 5-star characters, be prepared to spend a lot of money and time on this. Fortunately, even without Eidolons, Sunday can easily play the role of a support in the team.

Sunday in Honkai Star Rail: a guide to the best build

The table below presents all the eidolons and their benefits for the character:

NameDescriptionBenefit
End of a Thousand-Year SilenceUsing the skill allows the selected ally and summoned creatures to ignore 16% and 40% of the enemy's defense, respectively, for two turns.A very useful eidolon that can significantly increase the damage of main DD, especially if it can summon creatures (there will be many such damage dealers in the future).
Faith overcomes weaknessThe first use of the ult restores two skill points. The damage dealt by the Blessed is increased by 30%.Simplifies the accumulation of SP at the beginning of the battle and further increases the damage of main DD. A useful eidolon, but slightly worse than the first.
The thorns of an ascetic lifeThe level of the ult increases by two, and the basic attack – by one. The maximum level of the first increases to 15, and the second – to 10.Provides average benefit.
Preamble of SculptingRestores 8 units of energy at the beginning of the turn. With this eidolon and signature, you will be able to perform basic attacks more often, bringing OH to the team, and still be able to charge the ult in 3 turns. An extremely pleasant bonus.
Paper Raft in Silver BaySkill and Talent level increases by two. Maximum level for both increases to 15.Provides average benefit.
Dawn of the Starry CacophonyThe bonus to increasing critical hit chance from the talent can now be stacked up to three times, and the duration of the talent is increased by 1 turn. Using the ult also now increases crit. chance. If an ally's crit. chance starts to exceed 100%, then every 1% above the norm will increase critical damage by 2%.E6, of course, significantly increases the capabilities of Resurrection in the crit buff for main DD, but it is still not worth the resources spent on it.

If you plan to knock out eidolons and you have a limited budget, then you can well stop at E1 and E2, which will allow Sunday to significantly increase the damage of the main damage dealer and give additional skill points to the team. If you have a choice between a signature weapon and the first eidolon, then we still advise you to take a signature weapon, since only with its help you will be able to reliably charge the ult in 3 turns.

How to play for Sunday

The main buff of Sunday is, of course, the ability to move an ally's action forward, so its gameplay will be built around it. First of all, we note that most of the time this ability should be used on the main damage dealer so that he can make a move again, thereby causing additional damage. However, in a critical situation, you can move the shielder/healer to protect/heal the team.

Sunday in Honkai Star Rail: a guide to the best build

It is also worth considering the turn-based system of the game, that is, after a turn, the hero always ends up at the end of the queue – this is the moment you need to use the Resurrection skill on the damage dealer so that he can go twice in a row. At the same time, remember that an additional turn leads to an increase in not only damage and energy, but also the cost of skill points. Partially, this problem is solved by the hero's superpower, but in order to use it every 3 turns, you will definitely need a signature.

As for the main gameplay, you will need to adjust it to the speed of the main DD. For example, if you were able to get 130 Speed from him, then this parameter should be 129 units for Sunday. In this case, our winged boy will walk right after the damager and will be able to immediately move him forward. The main thing is to try not to break the synchronicity, that is, the characters should not shift relative to each other in the queue line. This can happen when issuing speed buffs or moving the action from other supports.

Note: You can also try the so-called “speed” style of play, in which Sunday's speed is increased to the maximum so that he can more often advance the action of DD, whose attack parameters are maximized in the meantime. But Sunday, firstly, has a low base speed, so raising it to 160 units will be problematic, and, secondly, in this case, your OP costs will increase significantly, which Sunday will hardly be able to replenish alone.

Sunday in Honkai Star Rail: a guide to the best build

The optimal rotation for Sunday will look like this:

  1. We recommend using Sunday's technique before the start of the fight to give an additional buff to the main damage dealer.
  2. Then you need to accumulate energy as quickly as possible to use the ult, so you should use his skill on the main damage dealer at the beginning of Resurrection's turn to move his action forward, increase the crit chance and overall damage.
  3. After charging the ultimate, also use it on the main DD to restore his energy and increase critical damage.
  4. The super ability lasts for 3 turns and during this period of time you need to accumulate enough energy so that Resurrection can immediately activate it again, constantly maintaining the Blessed status on the DD and his summoned creature (if any).

Advantages and disadvantages of Resurrection

With his unique abilities, he can buff team members, increasing their attack capabilities. His advantages also include:

  • A great support, which can be called an improved version of Armor, since he can not only move the main damage dealer forward and buff his crits, but also supply the team with skill points (without the need to open Eidolons) and enhance summons (as of patch 2.7, no one else can do this).
  • Many of his buffs last quite a long time (3 turns), which is useful for damage dealers with bonus attacks.
  • With his super ability, he can restore at least 40 units of energy to any ally, giving him the opportunity to use the ult more often.
  • He is able to remove debuffs from allies by using his skill, which is extremely useful when fighting enemies that impose negative effects.
  • He is quite easy to assemble, since the speed and energy recovery do not need to be increased very much, and the main parameter that requires an increase is only one – critical damage.

Sunday in Honkai Star Rail: a guide to the best build

However, this guy in feathers still can not be called ideal, since he has his own disadvantages, namely:

  • At the time of patch 2.7, there are quite a few damage dealers with summoned creatures in the game, so it will be difficult to use the full potential of Sunday.
  • He has no mass buffs – all bonuses only affect one character, so in critical situations you will have to choose who to advance the action and pour energy to: the damage dealer or the shielder/healer.
  • Only with a signature weapon will it be possible to consistently activate the super ability every 3 turns, so it is highly recommended to knock out the signature. Otherwise, you will have to take supports or cones that can pour energy.
  • He can restore skill points, but he does it less efficiently than, for example, Sparkle, so in teams where DD requires a lot of SP, he may still have problems, especially when using the “speed” playstyle.

Best Builds for Sunday

Best Light Cones

When choosing weapons, you should take a closer look at those options that increase critical damage and/or energy recovery, as well as provide some additional buffs to the team. The table below shows the most interesting examples.

NameStatsAbility

Sunday in Honkai Star Rail: Best Build Guide

Grounded Flight (5 Stars)

HP: 53-1164

ATK: 22-476

DEF: 24-529

Restores 6 energy to the wearer when he uses a skill or ultimate on an ally and gives the latter the Psalm status for three turns. This effect can be stacked up to 3 times. Each level increases damage dealt by 15%. For every 2 uses of a skill or ultimate on an ally, the team restores 1 skill point.

A signature weapon for Sunday that allows him to activate his ult every 3 turns and almost completely solves the problem with a possible lack of skill points. If you have to choose between E1 and signature, take the light cone.

Sunday in Honkai Star Rail: a guide to the best build

The battle is not over (5 stars)

HP: 1164

ATK: 529

DEF: 463

Speeds up energy recovery by 10-18% and gives 1 skill point after using the ult on an ally. The bonus occurs once every 2 uses of the super ability. Using the skill increases the damage of the teammate who makes the next move by 30-50%.

A good alternative to the signature, which also partially solves the energy problem, allows you not to save on skill points and can strengthen the damager. However, it does all this a little worse.

Sunday in Honkai Star Rail: Best Build Guide

Worldly Pranks (5 Stars)

HP: 53-1164

ATK: 24-529

DEF: 21-463

Increases critical damage by 32-60%. Grants the wearer a Mask for three turns at the start of the battle. With this status, the wearer's allies' chance of dealing critical hits increases by 10-14%, and critical damage by 28-56%. When restoring 1 skill point (even if the maximum number is exceeded), the wearer receives 1 stack of Colorful Flame. After collecting 4 stacks, the wearer receives a Mask for four turns.

Does not provide energy or skill points, but increases the wearer's critical damage, and, therefore, enhances the buff from the Resurrection ult and gives additional bonuses to crits for allies. In general, you can use it if you suddenly have this cone lying around idle.

Sunday in Honkai Star Rail: a guide to the best build

Past and Future (4 stars)

HP: 952

ATK: 423

DEF: 396

Using the skill increases the damage of an ally by 16-32% for one turn, who goes after the weapon carrier.

At the moment, it is the best 4-star cone for the character, as it directly increases the damage of the main DD, which will be promoted by Sunday.

Sunday in Honkai Star Rail: a guide to the best build

Cut the moon and cut the clouds (4 stars)

HP: 952

ATK: 476

DEF: 330

Provides a random effect at the beginning of a battle or before the wearer performs an action: the attack power of all allies increases by 10-20%, their damage increases by 12-24%, or their energy recovery is accelerated by 6-12%. The resulting effect replaces the previous one. Bonuses do not stack and disappear if the hero dies.

Gives good additional buffs to all allies in the squad, however, it does not strengthen the owner in any way. In addition, you can only get it from a paid Battle Pass, and we do not recommend doing this specifically for Sunday (it is better to spend resources on a signature).

Sunday in Honkai Star Rail: a guide to the best build

A Date with the Stars (4 Stars)

HP: 1058

ATK: 423

DEF: 330

Increases damage dealt by 12-24% at the start of battle when an ally deals damage of the same type as the wearer.

An excellent option for imaginary mono packs or in squads where there are damage dealers of the specified element (Moon Eater, Rappa, Doctor Ratio), as it will allow to increase their damage even more.

Sunday in Honkai Star Rail: a guide to the best build

Coupling Gears (3 stars)

HP: 846

ATK: 317

DEF: 264

Restores 4 units of energy in case of an attack or receiving a hit by the wearer. The bonus occurs once per turn. A pretty good choice in the absence of other suitable cones, as it supplies the heroine with the necessary amount of energy for more frequent use of the ult. It will not be difficult for you to get the 5th rank of imposition.

Sunday in Honkai Star Rail: a guide to the best build

Chorus (3 stars)

HP: 846

ATK: 317

DEF: 264

Increases the attack power of all partners by 8-12% at the beginning of the battle. The bonus does not stack with similar effects. If there are no alternatives, it can be given to any Harmony character.

A pretty good choice in the absence of other suitable cones, as it gives a useful bonus to all party members. Plus, getting the 5th overlay shouldn't be difficult even early in the game.

Best Relics

As for the choice of common relics mined in the Caves of Corrosion, the table below shows the most optimal options.

NameBonusesAdvantages

Sunday in Honkai Star Rail: a guide to the best build

The Thorny Path of the Priest

2 pieces: increases speed by 6%.

4 pieces: using an ult or skill on an ally increases the critical damage of the skill target by 18% for two turns. The bonus can be stacked up to two times.

The best option for Sunday, which simplifies the speed gain and gives a practically constant buff of 36% critical damage for the main DD.

2 parts: increase speed by 6%.

If you need to increase the speed of Sunday to the maximum, you can try to build this option, especially if you have more interesting stats.

Now we move on to planar decorations that are obtained in the Virtual Universe. The list below shows the recommended options (the numbers indicate the priority of choice):

1) Mermaid, flooded shores

2 parts: increases energy regeneration speed by 5%. If the wearer is not in the 1st place in the team, then the attack power of the hero who is on it increases by 12%.In most cases, the best option for Sunday, which makes it easier to accumulate energy and further strengthens the main DD (do not forget to put it in the 1st line in the squad menu).

Sunday in Honkai Star Rail: a guide to the best build

2) Dreamland Penakonia

2 parts: speed up energy recovery by 5% and increase damage dealt by squad members of the same type as the wearer by 10%.A good choice for a squad with imaginary damage dealers. In other cases, take the set listed above.

Sunday in Honkai Star Rail: a guide to the best build

3) Broken Keel

2 parts: increase the owner's resistance to effects by 10%. If this indicator is equal to or exceeds 30%, then the allies' critical damage increases by 10%.A good option for Sunday, since he will be able to activate his passive relatively easily (the remaining 2% resistance to effects can be gained from additional stats of relics), adding another 10% crit to allies. damage.

As for the stats of the relics, you need to choose as follows:

  • Body: Critical Damage
  • Legs: Speed
  • Planar Sphere: HP or Defense
  • Connecting Rope: Energy Recovery
  • Additional stats: Speed (if you need to get to the desired value) > Critical Damage > Effect Resistance (if you need to get for Broken Keel) > HP% > Defense%

If we talk about optimal hero attribute values, they look like this:

  • Critical damage: 170% and above (preferably up to 200%)
  • Speed: 1 unit lower than main DD for the “-1” style or 160+ units for the “speed” style
  • Energy recovery rate: 120% and above

Best teams for Sunday

As we have already noted, this hero can only reveal his full potential with damage dealers who can summon creatures. At the time of patch 2.7, only Jing Yuan and Topaz are such, and we advise you to pay attention to the general, since the top manager of the KMM usually occupies the sub-DD slot.

However, Sunday also combines well with other damage dealers, especially hypercarries, for whom it is important to quickly charge the ult. For example, these include Argenti, Yunli, Moon Eater and Zele.

If we talk about other supports, we advise you to definitely take Zaryanka, since in this case you will be able to buff both attack power, and crits and overall damage, and also promote the action of the entire team at once. As a free option, you can use Tingyun, which is also aimed at supporting one ally, and her bonuses also last quite a long time.

By the way, no one forbids taking two supports at once for promotion, so Sunday can be combined with Armor or Spark. In this case, DD can not be accelerated at all, maximizing the speed of only Sunday and Armor/Spark, and they will need to be synchronized correctly, that is, gain 161 speed for the first, and 160 for the second.

As for the shielder/healer, the best option, of course, will be Hoho, who will be able to restore energy for Sunday, guaranteeing him the use of the ult every 3 turns, and give an attack buff to allies. The table below shows all the optimal squads for Sunday.
