Genshin Impact sand tanks are a unique kind of puzzle in the Hadramavet Desert , which consists in filling with sand and emptying special containers installed on the walls. In the guide, we will show all such puzzles, explain their solution and tell you how to get the Ancient Garden and Spring achievement.
How to solve tank puzzles
A tank is a tank with or without taps. Usually there are several such containers, and the main crane hangs above them, from which sand pours. To open and close the faucets, you must shoot them, so get an archer on your team early. A blue glow indicates the faucet is open.
You can determine how full the tank is by the yellow strip on it. For all puzzles except the last one, you will receive regular chests.

Tanit's Camp
This is the simplest version of the puzzle and can be found near the Archon Statue. Here you just need to shoot the main tap and wait until the tank is full.
Wadi al-Majooj West
From the teleport, go to west and descend into the ruins.
First, turn off the top tank's left tap and the bottom's center tap.

Now open the top tank's right tap and the main tap to fill the bottom one tank.
Having dealt with the lower tank, close the valve of the upper one and fill it already.
North of Wadi al-Majuj
This puzzle can be reached from the teleport in the northwest of this location.
Close the open taps at the top and bottom tanks.
Open the left tap on the top tank and one tap on the middle one.
Activate the master tap.
Sequentially fill the tanks from the bottom on top. The bottom one is full – turn off the tap at the middle one and fill it up, and the same with the top one.
Chessboard
This is a location in the center of Safkhe Shatranj. It becomes available in the process of completing the “Bilcis Memorial Service” quest. From the teleporter, follow the four-leaf symbols to the west to reach it.
When you reach the puzzle, close the open taps at the upper and lower tanks.
Now open the right faucets of the top and middle tanks, and the main faucet. Fill the tanks in the same way as in the previous puzzle.
Safkhe Shatranj West
The puzzle is located just south of the teleporter.
On the first wall with one tank, you need to close the tap and fill the tank with sand.

On the second wall, open the valve on the upper tank and the left valve on the lower one.
Fill both tanks in succession.
Safkhe Shatranj
The puzzle is located in the southwestern part of the location. There is a Desert camp nearby, so be prepared to take the fight first.
Close the open taps on the bottom and left tanks.
Open the main faucets and the left faucet of the right tank. When the bottom tank is filled with sand, close the valve on the right tank and fill it up.
