In Genshin Impact, the Temple of Hemenu is a vast underground ruin located in the twilight desert that holds many secrets and treasures. To get to the chests, tablets and other valuable items in this ancient sanctuary, you need to solve a lot of puzzles and pass certain tests. In this guide, we will tell you how to re-enter this location and solve all its mysteries.
How to get to the Temple of Hemenu
For the first time, you will be able to visit this area as part of the world quest under titled “Introduction to Armchair Archeology”, but you will not be able to explore it completely. The fact is that this requires the 4th level of Power at the Red Sands Plate, which can be obtained after completing the mission “Double Proof”.
Therefore, we advise you to take up the study of these underground ruins only after completing the above quest. To do this, simply teleport to the fast travel point north of the Sobek Oasis, and then run west to the huge stone building, which is the temple you need. The entrance to it will be open.
All puzzles and chests in the Temple Hemenu
Hemenu Temple Map
First of all, we advise you to familiarize yourself with the map of this area, which consists of three levels, and also connects to the Hall of Sekhem and the underground parts of the tomb of King Deshret (which will be partially covered in this guide).
We will sometimes refer to this map to help you understand where the right elevator, ladder, failure, riddle, trial, chest, and any other object is located.
Combat Time Trial (Precious Chest)
So, after teleporting, run towards the huge structure to the west, and interact with the challenge marker along the way. You will need to defeat three scorpions and one pristine construct in 60 seconds. To do this, simply use a couple of explosions of elements that hit the area. As a reward, you will receive a precious chest.
Invisible Barriers Puzzle
Then run right to the monument and the locked chest. With your nose against the barrier, go around it to the right, go along the invisible ceiling to the column, and from there jump down and go to the usual chest, which is immediately unlocked.
Tablet: Raised Hand and Pile of Stones
From the previous puzzle, go a little southwest and find Tablet: Raised Hand, lying inside the ruins on the rubble.
Next, go behind the tablet and look for a stack of pebbles – interact with it to get 10,000 mora credited.
Challenge to Collect Dendro Particles (Precious Chest)
Climb to the roof of the ruins (using the four-leaf symbol) where you found the tablet earlier and look for the red challenge mark a little ahead. Activate it – you will need to collect 8 Dendro particles in one minute.
Run forward and pick up the first two green spheres on the roof. Then use the quatrefoils to fly to the pillar with the 3rd particle hanging on top. Turn left and fly to the dilapidated monolith with the 4th sphere. The fifth one hangs on a pole nearby.
The 6th sphere can be found in the air, and you can reach it with the help of quatrefoils. At the end, simply return to the roof of the ruins, where you will find the last two particles. Completing the challenge will reward you with a precious chest.
Eternal Light Cage Puzzle
From the previous challenge, go a little to the west. You will see a cell of eternal light, a prism and a pile of sand, which must be dispelled by Anemo's ability. After that, turn the cage two times so that the beam shoots at the prism.
Then pick up the primordial luminary and place it on the platform on the other side for another prism to appear. Approach the second cage of eternal light and also turn it two times. This will spawn a normal chest nearby.
Dendrocules 1 and 2
After inspecting the previous chest, go forward a little and pick up the Dendroculus hanging above the hole.
Then move to the northeast and look for another opening in the place shown in the pictures below. You will see a second dendroculus hanging over the dilapidated statue.
Puzzle with transparent torches and a cage truth
From the dendrocules, go south and jump down from the “roof”. On the ledge you will see a pedestal of secret rites and a cage of truth. Interact with the first mechanism (requires max Power) to remove the red barrier from the second device.
Then interact with the cage of truth and approach the two phantom torches behind the mechanism to manifest them. Two more torches are located slightly ahead to the left and to the right of the pedestal. Light them up with Pyro attacks (the order doesn't matter).
Once you light all the torches, a rich chest will appear next to them, which you can immediately examine.
An amazing chest and a pile of stones
Now you can enter directly into the Temple of Hemenu itself through a large triangular passage. Go further into the hall with columns and open the door on the right side with the help of the pedestal. Enter the new room and deal with the original structure.
In the middle of the room you will find a primordial luminary, and on the left there will be an amazing chest, which contains a scheme for the “Painted Vase: Shell” decor item. On the right, be sure to tap the stack of stones to get mora.
Puzzle with primordial luminaries and clocks
After picking up the luminary in the previous room, take it to the platform in the hall with columns, to make an hourglass appear.
Then enter the left door by interacting with the plinth. Enter the new room and deal with the robot so that the second luminary appears. On the left side of the room, you can also find the Tablet: Thunder Peals, and on the right side, a mysterious page from the fourth volume of A Thousand Nights.
Take the second luminary and return to the hall with columns. Next, climb to the second tier by climbing the wall near the exit from the location. There you will find two more glowing areas. Move the blue pyramid to the platform closest to you for a second hourglass to appear.
Return to the room where you found the second luminary and pick up the blue pyramid again. Climb up to the second tier again and stand on the third replicator for another watch to spawn. Flip them over and then immediately fly to the other side using the four leaf symbol and interact with the second clock.
Then go downstairs and turn over the very first watch. After that, a precious chest will immediately appear next to them.
Puzzle with cells of eternal light and concealment
Enter the next spacious area with primordial torches and turn into the right passage. Move down the stairs until you reach a small room. Climb up to the ledge ahead and drop down into a small opening with a plinth and a hiding cage.
Interactions with both mechanisms to remove the wall in front – cells of eternal light will appear, the rays from which will shine directly into the prisms. Behind this, a rich chest will appear.
Dendroculus 3
Return to the spacious hall with primordial torches and this time turn into the passage ahead. Go down the stairs until you reach a fork. Turn right and go up the stairs.
Walk along the long corridor until you find yourself in a new spacious room with a ship mounted on columns. Use the four-leafed symbol to reach the Dendroculus hanging above the ship.
Eternal Light Cage Puzzle
Go under the ship and rotate the Eternal Light cage twice to shoot a beam into the prism . Then inspect the normal chest that will appear at the bottom.
Dendroculus 4
After picking up the contents of the previous chest, jump into the hole ahead and go through the passage on the left or right. You will find yourself in a room with huge blades, to the left of which there will be a passage (near the pedestal) with a hole – jump there.
At the bottom, go through the triangular passage, reach the dilapidated bridge and jump down. As you descend, grab the Dendroculus.
Primal Obelisk
After picking up the Dendroculus, go down to the bottom of the cave. Here you will find a primordial obelisk. We will not consider this location further, since it is the eastern part of the underground level of the tomb of King Deshret.
Puzzle with cage of eternal light and prisms
Return to the dilapidated bridge and move towards the blocked chest. Directly below it, find the primordial luminary and pick it up. Then head up the stairs and stand on the platform for another prism to appear.
Now interact with the cell of eternal light so that it starts to automatically rotate. Wait for the moment when the beam hits two crystals at once, and then run to the usual chest, from which the barrier will immediately fall. You need to act quickly, because as soon as the cage turns, the chest will be blocked again.
Phantom torches and cage of truth puzzle
Travel to the teleport in the western part of Temple of Hemenu and go to the right passage. Run through the corridor and at the fork, continue straight ahead. Go down the stairs to the room with the pedestal and the locked cage of truth. Interact with both mechanisms.
When a yellow triangle appears above the hero, find and manifest phantom torches that are located in the four corners of the room (shown in the screenshots below). Then light them up with Pyro attacks in any order. As a result, an amazing chest will appear in the center of the room, which contains the scheme of the Tamarisk Long Table.
Don't forget to also pick up Tablet: Valley, which lies to the left of the square of truth.
Dendro Particle Collection Challenge
Return to the previous teleporter and this time run into the passage ahead. Once in a spacious hall with primordial torches, go around the stone structure in the center with frescoes and statues to find the mark of the test. Activate it to start the challenge – you have to collect 10 Dendro particles in 40 seconds.
Collect the 1st Orb on on the ground, and then immediately use the four leaf symbol to climb up to the ledge and grab the 2nd particle. Run forward and go down to the left, picking up 3 more orbs.
Use the quatrefoil again to move to the ledge on the other side. Pick up 4 more particles. Then go downstairs, grabbing the last sphere along the way. This will end the challenge and you will receive a regular chest.
Fairy and a regular chest
Go to the previous teleporter again and turn right again, but this time jump down into the hole in the corridor . When you go down, look around, and soon you will find a fairy in the distance.
Start following her until you get to her plinth in a room where you can find three hourglasses at once.
Primordial clock puzzle
After bringing the fairy to the “house”, climb the stone structure in the center of the room. On it you will find the Primordial Hourglass.
Activate the clock to start the countdown – you will need to turn two more hourglasses located on the upper tier in half a minute. Raise the camera up and you will immediately see the four leaf symbols. Use them to go up, and on the left side of the room you will see the desired object. Turn the clock, and then turn right and fly to the other side with the help of the quatrefoil. There you will find the last hours.
As a result, you will complete the challenge. Raise the camera, interact with the 4-leaf symbol and examine the normal chest.
Scorpions and the normal chest
Move to the western teleport of the Temple of Hemenu and go to the right passage again, and then jump into the hole and go to the location where you found the fairy earlier. Inside this room, destroy all the vases.
Scorpions will emerge from broken vessels. Destroy all insects and a regular chest will soon spawn near you.
This is the exploration of Hemenu Temple in Genshin Impact can be considered complete, as you will find all the chests and puzzles located directly in these underground ruins.
