Walkthrough of the mission “The Departed Shall Return First” in Honkai: Star Rail
How to start the quest
This quest starts automatically after completing the previous mission of the chain called “All Who Awakened”. After watching the cutscene with Resurrection and Pepeshi, move towards Aiden Park by going up the stairs and standing on the quest marker. Listen to the conversation between the former head of the Oak clan and Vanvik.
Next, approach the two Hounds standing in front. You will learn that something strange is happening in the park. After another conversation with the Pepeshi, study the “Rules for Conducting Investigations” or simply read our further instructions.
How to Investigate the Strange Phenomenon According to the Rules
Run forward to the ice cream truck. Along the way, you can examine the pole to learn about the ban on scaring birds. When approaching the truck, Vanwick will decide to break the rule and eat the ice cream, but nothing will happen to him (however, he will vomit later).
Now head to the musical instruments stage. The rule is that only performers and park staff can enter the stage. Try approaching the marker a couple of times, but you will be thrown back immediately. Check out the new video.
Then you can explore one of the two new locations. We went to the golden gachapon first.. Go to the machine and play it. You will need to find the attraction cap from “Uslada”. To do this, immediately turn around, and you will see a hound from the “Koshmarika” troupe. Go to it and exchange the cap for alfalfa. Return to the gachapon and put a special “token” in it.
Then go to the capsule and open it. After that, the battle with the monsters will immediately begin. The battle will consist of two waves of opponents – their vulnerabilities are shown in the screenshots below. Overall, the battle is not very difficult, so you are unlikely to have problems.
Next, head to the 4th location, which is in the north, a garbage can. The rule is that you can't throw trash in it. Next, you'll need to choose what to throw in it: credits, trash, a “Chasik” pizza, or a classic “Uslada”. Any item you choose will be recycled into Nice-looking trash. So we advise you to throw away your regular trash.
Where to find the distorted echo
Climb to the upper platform and go to the highlighted area, then use the “Insightful Attunement” by pressing the corresponding button (on PC, this is the “R” key). Next, go to the round pool table closest to you and examine the glowing sphere.
Chat with Vanvik again, after which you will open trophy “Between Promise and Oblivion”. Now head south to the next highlighted area. Once you activate the teleporter on the right, a new cutscene will start. Then head left, enter the alley and go down the stairs.
Keep Remembering
Here you will meet Welt, who apparently has uncovered Resurrection's disguise. Proceed further to the next highlighted location. Welt will stop you again. He does not trust Resurrection, so he will decide to accompany him. Then just scroll down to start a new video.
You will see many copies of Tingyun. March 7 will say that a serious problem has arisen. This will end the mission. As a reward, you will receive 400 adventure points, 50 star jades, 4 traveler's guides, 4 lost crystals and 60 thousand credits. Plus, you will have access to the next quest “Unfortunate Survivors”.
