In Lethal Company, the Mask is a demonic object that, when worn on the face, can turn the player into a possessed one. In the game you can find two types of masks: tragedy and comedy. In this guide, we will tell you exactly how this item works, whether it is possible to reverse the transformation into Masked, and whether killing the latter is allowed.
Mask in Lethal Company: basics and tips
Where you can find masks
These items are classified by the game as ordinary scrap, so you can find them on almost any moon inside the complex. They often lie on the floor, steps or tables. Therefore, you can completely accidentally stumble upon such a thing and pick it up.
Note: Note that already possessed company employees, the so-called Masked ones, can spawn with a certain probability only on two moons : Rend (60%) and Titan (25%).
How the mask works
You can easily take the mask to the ship and then turn it in as scrap metal at the Company office, that is, holding it in your hands is completely safe. The main thing is NOT to put this item on your face, that is, do not press the left mouse button. However, there are certain conditions depending on the type of item selected.
Mask of tragedy
Comedy mask
We have already noted above that there are two types of masks: comedy (Comedy) and tragedy (Tragedy). The pictures above show what they look like in the game. They have the following differences:
- Comedy mask – looks like a laughing face. You can put it on and take it off any number of times. However, it is important not to hold it near your head for more than 5 seconds, otherwise the transformation will begin. It costs a little less than the tragedy mask.
- The tragedy mask looks like a sad face. If you lean it against your head by pressing LMB, the process of turning into Masked will immediately begin. It can be sold a little more expensive than a comedy mask.
The transformation process itself looks like this: the mask sticks to your face, filling the entire screen. Then, after a few seconds, the character dies, emitting a piercing scream that can be heard by other players – this is how they are able to determine that a possessed person has appeared in the world.

Disguised in Lethal Company
The masked one looks exactly the same as the killed player, except that he now has a mask on his head. It is from this that you can understand that your ally has died and is now controlled by a demonic entity, whose main goal is to kill your entire crew.
< p>In terms of behavior, they are very similar to Bracken, that is, they also like to sneak up on players from behind and then quickly kill them. However, they do not like having several people looking at them, so they may well run away from the crowd.
There are also differences from brakens – Masked ones do not really like to hunt, so when they meet their target, they immediately try to kill it. To do this, the possessed person grabs the character and then shoots poison from his mouth at him. In this case, the victim eventually also transforms into a demonic creature. Thus, the entire crew can quickly turn into Masked.
How to remove the mask from a possessed person
It is impossible to do this. Unfortunately, the player who put on the mask and turned into a monster has already completely died, so there is no way to reverse the transformation. The only way to get rid of the threat that has arisen is to kill the masked one.
How to kill the masked
Fortunately, the possessed do not become invulnerable creatures, so they can be killed with a shovel or a road sign – four hits should be enough. Plus, he is susceptible to the effects of a stun gun, so one player can stun him, and the rest can beat him with shovels.
Fighting this enemy one on one is not recommended, since you will not only most likely lose to him, but and turn into a masked one, creating an additional headache for the crew.
The best thing would be to simply ignore this enemy, avoiding meeting with him. In addition, you still won’t be able to return the possessed person’s corpse to the ship to reduce penalties, so there is practically no point in killing him.
In the end, we will add that the possessed person is still identified as a player, so you can teleport him to the ship, which can lead to the death of the entire group, since fighting him in a small space is extremely inconvenient. So use the teleport with caution if masked ones appear in the location.
