In Genshin ImpactThe Shadow Papilla is a Void Plant-like monster and an elite boss added to the game with the release of update 5.2. This Void Illusion Plant drops Heavy Gaze, which is required to Ascend certain characters. In this guide, we'll tell you where to find this enemy, what team you should prepare to fight it, the fastest way to defeat it, and what achievements you'll be able to unlock.
Where to Find the Shadow Papilla in Genshin Impact
There are no additional requirements to unlock access to this boss, so you can essentially get to him right after completing the Archon quest “Song of Dragon Freedom.” However, we still recommend that you start with the Natlan quest chain.
So, first of all, get to Natlan by moving to the opened teleport west of the Hadramaweth Desert. After that, you will need to go to the western part of the region and find a round woven scroll in a cave, which will take you to the arena with the boss. We will tell you more about the location of this drawing after the release of patch 5.2.
Shadow Papilla Respawn
After you defeat this boss, it will recover almost instantly– you need to teleport to another area or re-enter the game for the plant-like monster to appear again. Also remember that you will have to spend 40 units of Primordial Resin to collect rewards from it.
Characteristics of the Twilight Papilla
In any state, this enemy's resistance to all types of damage (including physical) is only 10%. When the boss throws a shield on himself, he becomes invulnerable to any attacks until the barrier is destroyed by elemental attacks. All this imposes certain restrictions on the selection of characters for fighting this enemy.
If we talk about the combat parameters of this monster of the Abyss, it has average health and attack power, in many ways copying Unut Setekh. For example, at level 90, its base HP is 594 thousand units (the worm has 519 thousand), and ATK is 11.4 thousand units (the worm also has 11.4 thousand). You can see all the enemy's stats in the image below (2P, 3P, and 4P show the parameters when playing in co-op).

Tips for Choosing Heroes
Given the boss's average health and attack power, we recommend that you pay as much attention to the survivability of your squad as to its damage. If you see that your healer is not coping with the incoming damage, you can safely add a shielder to the pack. He will help protect against powerful area attacks of the enemy.
Note: We give priority to healers, not shielders for the simple reason that some enemy attacks apply stacking Corrosion, which gradually reduces the health of the active hero. It is impossible to protect yourself from this debuff with a shield.
The main and secondary damage dealers can be Hydro, Pyro, Electro, Cryo, Dendro, Anemo and/or Geo. Choose the most pumped fighters capable of inflicting the greatest elemental damage necessary to destroy the boss's shield (read more about this in the section on Papilla attacks). Physical packs will not help you here.
Important: Elemental attacks with the Night Spirit characteristic destroy the enemy's barrier much faster, so we highly recommend that you use damage dealers from Natlan if you have them.
As for supports, they can be of any element, since their main task will be to increase the elemental damage of damage dealers, that is, they will still attack the enemy infrequently. This also applies to shielders and healers.

Before the battle, you can eat dishes that increase attack power, critical damage, and critical hit chance. It would be a good idea to drink potions that increase certain elemental damage to strengthen your damage dealers. In this case, the following will be useful:

- Forest Oil – increases Dendro damage by 25% for 5 minutes.
- Frost Oil – increases Cryo damage by 25% for 5 minutes.
- Thunder Oil – increases Electro damage by 25% for 5 minutes.
- Essence of Stillness – increases Geo damage by 25% for 5 minutes.
- Flame Oil – increases Pyro damage by 25% for 5 minutes.
The boss also mainly deals (unknown) damage, so we recommend you take (unknown), which increases resistance to (unknown) by 25% for 300 seconds.
