Stream by version Honkai: Star Rail 3.8 turned out to be not what many expected. The community was hoping to see the long-awaited Edo Star or at least hints of it from the developers, but the stream turned out to be much more restrained and careful. The update was extended over eight weeks instead of the usual six, and the content turned out to be compact. However, the developers still prepared a couple of plot surprises.
Return to Penaconia
The stream began with the presenters suddenly admitting: something in the history of Penaconia does not match what we remember, because part of the memories were stolen, and this applies not only to the Pathfinder, but also to the inhabitants of the Planet of Celebrations.
What was hidden and who is manipulating the memories will have to be found out in the plot of patch 3.8.

Dreams of Rotten Oaks – a gloomy territory that was once part of the Morning Dew Residence, but was long abandoned and drowned in primary memory.

Since the version has been extended, the game will have 3 phases of banners, instead of the usual 2.

Additional content of the extended version 3.8
The version has been extended for almost two months, and at the same time the developers have added several quiet but useful activities designed for systematic farming and completing accumulated tasks.
Treasure Hunt: Spend Mastery energy to get tokens, and use them to find treasures and receive rewards. After accumulating several attempts, you can receive Star Jade and other rewards.

Illusion of the End: a new phase will be available at the end of version 3.8.
Version 3.8 will start on December 17, 2025 and will last until February 13, 2026, so you will have enough time to complete the story, calmly collect rewards and understand all the events. The stream may not have brought any big announcements, but it opened an important page in the history of Penaconia. Sometimes silence is the best moment to reassemble the picture and understand where the plot is moving next. And then the Edo Star will arrive in time for release.
