In this article we will tell you exactly when patch 6.2 (Moon 3) will be released for Genshin Impact, what new banners, characters, events, quests, locations and opponents await players, as well as what weapons and cards for the Sacred Summon of the Seven will appear in the game. Note: Currently, the information below is based not only on statements from the developers, but also on leaks and files obtained by data miners and testers, so it is not 100% reliable and may change over time.
Release date for version 6.2 (Moon 3) for Genshin Impact
HoYoverse company, usually, releases updates every 6 weeks, so the next patch should be released on December 3, 2025. It will be replaced by version 6.3 around January 14th next year.
You can preload the client a few days before its release. The developers will probably carry out technical work, which can last up to 5 hours. Players are usually given compensation in the amount of 300-600 source stones.
Live broadcast on Genshin Impact 6.2
The development team almost always organizes special streams one and a half to two weeks before the release of a new update. They usually take place on Friday-Sunday. For this reason, the live broadcast of version 6.2 should take placeNovember 21, 2025 at 15:00 Moscow time. During it, three promotional codes for 300 primogems will be posted.
New characters and banners
The miHoYo team has already officially presented two new characters that will appear in the upcoming patch: Durin and Yagoda. Insiders shared information about their abilities and rerans of other heroes.
First phase banners
Informants suggest that in the first half of the patch the following fighters will be presented in banners:
- 5-star – Durin (Piro, one-handed sword) and Venti (Anemo, bow).
- 4-star – Yagoda (Anemo, bow) and Ka Min (Pyro, two-handed sword).
Durin's name was once associated exclusively with an ancient tragedy: a monster who fell in battle with Dwalin over the Dragonspine. But now the inhabitants of Mondstadt tell completely different stories – not about an enemy of humanity, but about a horned young man who can be found with Klee, getting into funny troubles. The Mondstadt residents themselves say that this is like a new chapter of an old legend.
The gaming community is already actively discussing Durin's first showcases. According to leaked materials from insiders in test builds, he can be seen in squads along with Albedo, Mona, Yagoda, Xing Qiu and Lauma. In a team, he will most likely play the role of a secondary damage dealer/support, dealing Pyro damage to enemies from the pocket and buffing allies.
Yagoda, a sweet employee of the Curatorium of Secrets, has helped the Traveler many times in a variety of matters, including infiltrating the well-guarded Fatui base. Her approximate abilities have already been revealed online. Apparently, in a team she will be able to play the role of a secondary damage dealer/support, being able to not only call Dispel from the pocket, but also heal allies and increase their elemental mastery. At the same time, she shows herself best in packs with characters of different elements.
In “Incarnation of a Deity” you will be able to get Durin's signature one-handed sword called (will appear later) and a new Venti signature bow – (name will appear later).
Phase 2 Banners
In the second half of the update (starts on December 24), the following reruns will most likely be held:
- 5-star – Varesa (Electro, catalyst) and Shilonen (Geo, one-handed sword).
- 4-star – Chevreuse (Pyro, polearm).
Both of these legendary characters appeared in banners relatively recently (in the spring of this year), but this will be the first rerun for Varesa, and the second for Shilonen. At the same time, both characters are considered very popular among players, since the first is a good Electro damage dealer, and the second is an excellent support, suitable for many squads.
As for the weapon banner, you should expect the appearance of Varesa's signature catalyst called Iridescent Aspirations and the signature one-handed sword Shilonen – Song of the Peaks Patrol.
Prayer of the Chronicles
Considering that the Prayer of Chronicles dedicated to Sumer was released back in patch 6.0, it is unlikely that the next regional banner will appear in version 6.2. Perhaps it will be presented only in update 6.3. On the other hand, on Chinese sites, one of the anonymous insiders said that in the upcoming update the developers will still release a new regional banner, and it will be dedicated not to Fontaine, but again to Mondstadt.
Buffs for Witches' Sabbath characters
According to insider Seele, the game will feature “Witch's Lessons” tasks, the completion of which will unlock additional talents and enhanced versions of skills for Sabbath participants. Moreover, after completing quests, Sabbat characters will become “magical heroes” – a special category that activates the “Magic·Mystery” effect, strengthening such characters in the group. To begin these quests, the player will need to have a hero at level 70+.
Insiders O1 and Jelena shared more detailed characteristics of future changes. If there are two or more Sabbat characters in the team, the “Arcane Ritual” effect is triggered, which significantly increases their damage and adds new bonuses:
- Durin – increases the effects of passive talent by 75%, except for the duration.
- Venti– while the Eye of the Storm created by his ultimate exists: if an active character nearby triggers the Dispel reaction, he receives a bonus to damage with the corresponding element +50% for 4 seconds. The Eye of the Storm's damage increases to 135% of the base value.
- Klee – When Klee's attacks (normal, charged, skill or ultimate) hit the enemy, she receives 1 level of the Boom Boost effect for 20 seconds. With 1/2/3 levels of Boom Enhancement, upgraded charged attacks deal 115%/130%/150% of original damage.
- Albedo– within 20 seconds after using an elemental skill, when it deals damage to nearby enemies, a field is created that lasts 10 seconds. If Sun Flower (E) is missing and Albedo remains active, the field gains the same effect as Sun Flower. No more than two such fields can exist at the same time. Within 20 seconds after creating the Sun Flower, squad members receive a damage bonus depending on Albedo's defense: every 1,000 defense gives +4% damage to all types of attacks, maximum +12%. Within 20 seconds after the field is created, Sabbat characters receive a bonus: every 1,000 defense gives +10% damage to all types of attacks, maximum +30%
- Mona– When her normal or charged attacks hit enemies, Mona receives 1 stack of the Reflect Fate effect (up to 3 levels, maximum 1 time every 0.1 sec.), lasting 8 seconds. When other party members trigger a Steam reaction, all stacks are consumed, increasing the reaction damage by 10% per level. Mona's normal and charged attacks also extend the effect of Mona's ult on enemies by 2 seconds, up to a maximum of 8 seconds.
- Sucrose – for 15 seconds after using an elemental skill, allies receive +5.7% damage. within 20 seconds after the ultimate, Sabbat allies receive +7.1% damage.
- Razor – while his ultimate is active, a lightning strike is created, striking nearby enemies and dealing 150% of the attack as AoE Electro damage, as well as restoring 7 units of energy Razor.
- Fischl– while Oz is on the battlefield: When allies cause Overload, Fischl and the active character receive +22.5% attack power for 10 seconds; When they trigger the Charged or Lunar Charge reactions, Fischl and the active character gain +90 Elemental Mastery for 10 seconds.
New locations
At this point in time, the information is quite contradictory. On the one hand, insiders note that the developers do not plan to expand the game world, but will only add a new story dungeon – Hyperborea, that is, players will be able to visit another fallen kingdom from Teyvat’s past. Even its first screenshots appeared online.
However, on the other hand, images of new animals and characters that inhabited or still live in Hyperborea were also leaked onto the Internet. Typically, new animals were added only to full-fledged areas, and not story locations that players visit only once throughout the entire game. So for now we cannot say for sure whether a new area will await us or not.
New weapons
In patch 6.2, players will find three new weapons: two 5-star weapons, which will become the signatures of Durin and Venti, and one 4-star weapon, most likely a reward for the main event of the update. The table below shows the approximate characteristics and passive abilities of the new weapons.

New tasks
Archon task
Insider HomDGCat clarifies that in version 6.2 there will be two acts of tasking the Archons. As part of one of them, we will go to explore Hyperborea – an area that was mentioned in passing in the lore, but which is closely connected with ancient civilizations and the origin of some dragons.
According to insider Dim, the next mission of Archons 6.2 will finally feature Alice, Klee’s mother and one of Mondstadt’s most mysterious figures. Moreover, in the cutscenes we will also hear Barbelot (Mona's mentor) and Nicole, which was also confirmed by HomDGCat. The same story will feature Durin, the Wanderer, as well as Reindottir and Andersdotter, whose names are inextricably linked with the history of ancient alchemical experiments and the creation of Durin.
Insider Jelena confirmed that in 6.2, in one of the acts of the Archons quest, players will be able to control Columbine. At the time of the event, her unique ring throwing mechanics will be available, which will appear in the form of a mini-test, similar to time trials with other story characters. This is the first time players will be able to see Columbine in action and not just as an NPC.
Legends Quest
Insider shihora shared the quest icon for Durin's legends, which confirms that the character will have his own story. The storyline itself could likely reveal more about his connection to other members of the Witches' Coven and how Durin came to Nod's Land. It is also known that the legends quest will have its own dungeon.
World quests and assignments
According to HHW, a whole series of additional quests are planned for 6.2, in which Lisa, Kaya, Djinn, Klee, Fischl will take part and Dione. Most likely, this quest will be associated with the new mechanics of character buffs, which we talked about just above.
New bosses
Super-heavy land cruiser: Mobile fortress
A new elite boss that drops Cyclic War Cores of Lunar Power, necessary for leveling up Durin. This opponent is able to regulate his temperature. But when receiving Pyro attacks, it will begin to accumulate heat and enter an overheated state. If the boss continues to heat up, he will automatically activate a Cryo barrier to cool down. You can interrupt this process to cause serious damage to him.
Sacred Call of the Seven
The developers are preparing the next update for the card game, which will add several new character cards, namely: Escoffier, Ka Ming and the Black Snake Knight. Plus, new artifacts and skill cards will be added.
