Vampire cloak is a unique type armor that appeared in The Hedge Maze update for99 Nights in the Woods. This item not only changes the appearance of the character, giving him the appearance of an awakened vampire, but also gives access to a special game mechanism – restoring health through the blood supply system.
What a vampire cloak looks like and what it does
The vampire cloak is a dark gray robe with a high red collar, reminiscent of traditional vampire costumes. The lower part of the cloak has uneven, as if torn, edges, and a golden chain holds it in front. Despite being decorative, it serves the functional role of protection and enhances the player’s survivability in difficult areas.
The main property of the cloak consists of reducing damage received and activating a special indicator – Blood Scale. It appears on the left of the screen and is filled automatically during the night. When the scale reaches its maximum, the player receives some of his health restored. Thus, during night travel and battles, the cloak allows you to use first aid kits less often and save resources.
Additionally, if the player damages enemies with a certain weapon, the gauge will fill up faster. The combination of a cloak with a Bouncing Bladeand a Scythe is especially effective, since these types of weapons allow you to attack several enemies simultaneously and speed up the process of filling the scale.
Some players claim that the cloak not only restores health, but can also temporarily increase maximum HP, but this information has not been officially confirmed. Nevertheless, the very fact of the possibility of constant self-healing already makes the item strategically advantageous, especially at stages when consumable items are limited.
How to get a Vampire Cloak
There are two ways to get it in the game. The first is the choice of the Vampire class, which was added in The Hedge Maze update. The player who chooses this class receives a cloak immediately upon character creation. However, you will have to pay for this advantage – the cost of the class is 600 diamonds. This path is suitable for those who have already accumulated enough resources and want to try out new mechanics without the need for farming.
The second way is to go through the labyrinth. At the end of it there will be a coffin-shaped chest waiting for you, which may contain a Vampire Cloak, although the drop is not guaranteed. There are other rare items that can be obtained from the same chest, so players who want to get their hands on the cloak may have to complete the challenge multiple times. To get into the labyrinth, you need to open access using special tickets, which are also obtained in the gameplay.
From a balance point of view, the Vampire Cloak is inferior to Iron Armor in terms of pure protection. Its role is not in maximum durability, but in the ability to restore health.
In the game interface, the appearance of a blood scale makes the cloak the fourth item that adds a new indicator to the character's status system.
