Gameplay

The video rental gameplay consists of several key stages:

• Preparation before the workday: receiving yesterday's revenue, then viewing current genres and selecting video tapes + calling a promoter;
• Individual work with customers: from time to time clients need help finding a movie; they stand near the counter and wait for the help of a consultant. The better you fit into their preferences, the more money you will earn. The main thing is to read the request carefully;
• Tracking the health of promoters: all enthusiasts who volunteer to advertise Random Play have a mood indicator – if you choose a promoter too often, his condition will worsen, and he will temporarily will not be able to go to work;
• Replenish the cassette collection: the more movies you have in your media library, the higher your video rental's daily revenue will be.

Opening a video rental

One of the tasks before the start of the working day is choosing a promoter (the one who will hand out leaflets with advertising). Each employee has their own style of presentation, target flow and mood – if it is low, the character will not be able to help with the promotion of the video rental.

The second task is to create a shelf of recommended videotapes. You need to manually select three copies of films that will correspond to hot topics (in the selection window, they are listed on the bottom panel and light up blue when you select a tape of the appropriate genre). Use the filters in the upper right corner of the screen to sort the films and quickly select the assortment. In addition to genres, pay attention to the tape level – it also affects revenue.

When the video rental reaches level 6, the “Cape Recommendations” function will appear in the movie selection window, by clicking on which, films will be selected automatically.

At the end, return to the main “Doing Business” window ” and confirm the start of work, after which you will no longer be able to change the selected films or promoter. 

Daily balance: rewards for doing business

Before the start of each working day, we are shown statistics for the previous one: the number of buyers and the total revenue. In addition to the earned denny, depending on the selected promoter, the rewards may include:

The video rental level increases automatically upon reaching certain conditions: obtaining a specific Internet level and completing story quests (usually this happens in parallel).

Pay attention to the story campaigns that open each of the 6 levels:

• The first level is available from the beginning of the game and has no conditions for obtaining;
• For the second level, you need to complete at least “Chapter 1: Interlude” and raise your Internet to lvl 20;
• The quest for the third level opens with lvl 25 of Internet and approximately during the mission “Call from the depths of the cavern?..”;
• The fourth level opens with lvl 30 of Internet, by the start of the task “Inserted story of Chapter 2: Mission Unthinkable”;
