In Genshin ImpactWhere the Springs Return is a long quest chain in Natlan that allows you to get to know Mualani and the Springs people better. During the course of it, you will have to rescue tourists, reach a mysterious island, explore a village, pass a spiritual path test, explore an underground cave, and take a photo. In this guide, we will tell you how to start this line and provide links to walkthroughs for all quests.
How to Start the “Where the Springs Return” Chain
Before you can start completing the first quests of this line, you will need to meet several conditions, namely:
- Reach at least Adventure Rank 40. In a separate article, we gave tips on increasing it.
- Complete the Archons' quest “Flowers in the Burning Sun” to unlock the first and second chapters of the chain.
- Complete the Archons' quest “A Black Stone Buried Beneath the White” to unlock the third chapter of the chain.

Seekers of the Mysterious Island
As part of the first chapter of the story, you will need to defeat several Koholasaurs and chat with the rescued tourists. As a reward for completing this small mission, you will receive 200 adventure points, 17 thousand mora, 8 adventurer experience and 4 magic ore of enhancement. The Legend of the Mysterious Island
In the second chapter, you will be able to lure the swindler, follow the deceitful guide and try to approach Ata for a joint photo. At the end, you will be able to reach the mysterious island. As a reward for completing this mission, you will receive 325 adventure points, 27 thousand mora, 3 hero books, Amina's reward and 6 magic ore of enhancement. Journey to the Mysterious Island
The third chapter consists of several missions in which you will have to explore the village, visiting several shops together with Mualani, try to go deep into the valley, activate the phlogiston node to change routes, pass the test, explore the underground cave, defeat monsters and save Viramdra. At the end, you will need to take a photo as a keepsake.
As a reward for completing each quest, you will receive adventure points, mora, hero books and magic ore of enhancement. Plus you will be given primogems and the Cornerstone of Stars and Flames. A detailed walkthrough of the chain is presented in our separate material.
