Xian Yun in Genshin Impact: guide to the best builds

In Genshin Impact, Xian Yun is a 5-star character who belongs to the Anemo element and uses a catalyst in battles. In a squad, she can play the role of an excellent healer/buffer or a good sub-DD. In this guide, you will learn about her best builds, weapons and artifacts, as well as recommended commands for her.

Note: Adept from Li Yue has not yet been officially released, so the data presented here is based on information obtained through beta testing. If necessary, we will update the guide when the heroine appears in the game.

Main features of Xian Yun

How to get Xian Yun (Guardian of the Clouds)

In the first phase of patch 4.4 this character will appear in the banner, which will increase the probability of its dropping. Thus, it will be possible to obtain the Guardian of the Clouds only with the help of Prayers. Unfortunately, miHoYo has never held an event where the reward would be a 5-star fighter, so you definitely won’t be able to get this adept for free.

Progression of Xian Yun's characteristics

The table below shows how the heroine's basic parameters change as her level increases.

Advantages and Disadvantages of Xian Yun

Thanks to her abilities, she can heal her allies and enhance some of their attacks . Its main advantages also include:

  • Reveals the system of falling attacks in a completely new way, as it not only strengthens them, but also increases the height of the active character’s jumps, giving him the ability to perform similar attacks almost at any time. There is no longer any need to try to master “dragon strikes,” and damage dealers with a two-handed sword literally get a second life.
  • It should be remembered that when attacks fall, there is no cooldown on the application (imposing an elemental status), which allows you to close the reaction with each such blow. This greatly increases the effectiveness of infusion damage dealers. At the same time, it is not necessary that they themselves possess it – they can also use someone else’s, for example, Bennett or Chun Yun.
  • He has powerful healing abilities, so on the battlefield he can serve not only as a buffer, but also as a healer. Her treatment can restore health to the entire squad, both instantly and over a certain period of time.
  • Can deal damage to Anemo from the pocket and cause Dispel even with normal attacks; under certain conditions, you can even turn it into a secondary damage dealer.
  • It is very easy to assemble, since for a support it will be enough to pump up only two parameters: energy recovery and attack power, and the latter characteristic will increase along with elevation.
  • Does not require constellations and signature weapons for effective healing and buffing attacks while falling, so it will certainly appeal to F2P players who plan to use her only as a support.
  • The elemental skill allows you to make very high jumps (even higher than Kazuha's), so you can easily climb high ledges or cross small bodies of water. Plus, her passive talent increases her gliding speed. All this makes it an excellent choice for exploring the world.

Xian Yun in Genshin Impact: guide to the best builds

However, there are some downsides, many of which come directly of the advantages of Xian Yun:

  • A very narrowly targeted buffer that only works well with those who play through attacks in the fall (Xiao, Ka Ming) or use a claymore with infusion (there are a few exceptions to this, which we discussed below). For others, it will be useless, covering only the role of a healer in the team.
  • The Whirlwind (screed) is completely absent from the arsenal, which is considered one of the main advantages of some Anemo supports. Plus, it is extremely necessary when using attacks while falling, since many light enemies will fly away from them in different directions. Therefore, to control the crowd on the battlefield, you will have to take another support character of the specified element.
  • Very low personal damage, which can be significantly increased only by the 6th Constellation. However, even with him, it is not recommended to use her as the main damage dealer, at most placing her in the place of a sub-damager.
  • The cost of an elemental explosion is relatively high (70 units), which is also the key ability of the Guardian of the Clouds, so it must be activated on cooldown. For this reason, it is necessary to take a second Anemo character to the team (battery), give the support a Favonius weapon, use Signa, or seriously work on increasing the heroine’s VE.

Xian Yun’s abilities

When performing a normal attack, “Word of Wind and Flower,” the character summons up to 4 whirling streams of wind, and when charged, releases a wind ring in front of him, which deals damage to Anemo along the way and costs a little stamina. If attacked while falling, she accumulates energy and lands on the ground, attacking all enemies in her path and then dealing elemental damage in an area.

Explanation: The attacks look impressive and even hit relatively painfully, but they are extremely slow and are not enhanced in any way by other abilities (except for falling attacks), so using it as a driver is not recommended, as this will reduce the overall damage of the pack. However, normal attacks are a good choice when you need to quickly close Dispel to activate Emerald Shadow.

When using the elemental skill “White Clouds at Dawn”, the character enters Cloud Transformation mode, without taking fall damage and performing one Heavenly ladder. When hit while falling while in this state, she deals damage to Anemo in an area, ending the effect.

While this mode is active, the heroine can perform up to three sky ladders in total, with each one increasing the area and damage of the subsequent fall attack. You can only damage the same enemy with the Sky Ladder once. If, after activating the skill, you do not use the sky ladder and fall attack, then after a short period of time the Cloud Transformation condition will disappear, and the cooldown time of the skill will be reduced by 3 seconds.

Explanation: When you press E, the heroine will fly up, and you can raise it even higher by pressing the button twice again. Then, if you click on the LMB, the adept will make an attack while falling, inflicting area damage to Anemo (the more jerks there are, the higher the damage will be). However, a lot of time is spent on additional jumps, so performing them is not always advisable. For support, the main function of the skill is to charge an elemental explosion.

The Twilight Gathering of Stars elemental explosion creates a powerful wind that deals damage to Anemo in an area, restores health to all party members (the amount of healing depends on Xian Yun's attack power) and causes a Tangle of Stars. This mechanism moves behind the active hero, periodically healing the entire squad, increasing his jump height and allowing him to perform 8 hits while falling with additional Anemo damage.

Explanation: The amount of instant treatment for an adept is almost two times lower , than, for example, Genie, but do not forget about the periodic healing, which for the first time in the game restores the health of the entire team. This type of mechanic goes well with Furina’s E-shka. So, as a healer, Xian Yun is quite good.

However, the main function of the ult is, of course, giving any active character the ability to make up to 8 attacks while falling. Let us remind you that these attacks have significant multipliers (especially for claymore users) and they do not have a cooldown on the application, meaning you can close reactions with each attack. It is for this reason that many have studied the dragon strike technique (bouncing off an enemy to attack while falling). Now it’s enough to take the Guardian of the Clouds into the team.

It is also impossible not to mention Xian Yun’s very useful passive talents, namely:

  • Crane Form – increases glider flight speed for all party members by 15%. Does not stack with other similar bonuses.
  • White feather on the good wind – when hitting an enemy with a falling attack after activating the E-shka, for 20 seconds, gives all team members level 1 of the “Feather on the Wind” bonus for 20 seconds. Each stack of this effect increases the chance of dealing critical damage with a fall strike by 4%/6%/8%/10% respectively. Each level has its own duration.
  • Adept in his abode – with the ult active, the damage from the shock wave of the attack when the active hero falls increases by 200% of the attack power of the Guardian of the Clouds. The maximum damage can increase by 9000 units (which is difficult to achieve, since Xian Yun’s ATK in this case should be 4500 units). One fall hit can only deal additional damage to one enemy. Each squad member can activate this bonus once every 0.4 seconds.

Xian Yun Constellations

To open them, the character's Luck is required, which is issued in the event of duplicates of the heroine appearing, which, of course, is random. Considering the low drop rate of 5-star characters, you will need a lot of money and time to unlock all the constellations. However, even without them, Xian Yun will be able to perfectly perform the role of support.

If you have enough resources to open constellations, and you want to use the character as a damage dealer, then try to unlock C6, which increases Xian Yun’s personal damage. If you only use her as a support, you can stick with C1 and C2, which will make it easier to accumulate energy, increase the effectiveness of your ult, and enhance fall attacks for your allies. The entire list of constellations is presented below.

  1. Wind of Purification – increases the number of charges of an elemental skill by 1. You will be able to deal more damage and gain additional energy particles, thereby speeding up the charging of the elemental burst.
  2. < li>Stepping away from the world – increases the heroine’s attack power by 20% for 15 seconds after she uses the E-shki heavenly ladder. The damage from the allied shockwave generated when performing a fall strike is increased by 400% of the adept's attack power. At most, it can increase by 18,000 units.

  3. Creations of the star and moon – the level of elemental explosion increases by three. Maximum level: 15th.
  4. Mysterious pearl millet – a falling attack with 1/2/3 of E-shki's heavenly ladders restores the health of all team members by 50%/80%/150% of the attack power of the Guardian of the Clouds. The bonus can appear once every five seconds.
  5. Riding on the clouds – the level of the elemental skill increases by three. Maximum level: 15th.
  6. Spirit of the Guardian of the Clouds – critical damage from an attack in a fall with 1/2/3 E-shki heavenly ladders increases by 15%/35%/70%, respectively. For 16 seconds after using an ult, the cooldown of an elemental skill disappears (you can perform it without a cooldown a maximum of 8 times).

How to play as Xian Yun

The Cloud Guardian's key ability is its elemental burst, which grants the active character the ability to perform drop kicks anywhere. The ult lasts 16 seconds, and its cooldown is 18 seconds, that is, with sufficient energy recovery, it can last almost the entire duration of the battle.

Xian Yun in Genshin Impact: guide to the best builds

The elemental skill will be partially responsible for restoring energy, so don’t discount it. However, it is recommended for support to click on the E-shka only once, since completing the second and third heavenly ladder takes too much time, and the number of energy spheres from their use does not increase. You can also choose not to perform the attack at all, so that the cooldown of the skill is reduced by 3 seconds, and you can reactivate it faster.

The elemental skill should also be used due to the passive “White Feather on the Good Wind”, which increases crit. chance of falling strikes. The main thing is to try to hit as many enemies as possible with the E-shank in order to immediately get 4 stacks of Feather in the wind. The second passive talent “Adept in her abode” will allow Xian Yun to deal damage from the pocket when the main damage dealer will hit opponents under her ultimate with attacks in the fall.

The optimal rotation for support and sub-dealer will look like this :

  1. Activate the elemental skill Xian Yun and after the first heavenly ladder (the secondary damage dealer can make 2-3 dashes) rush towards the opponents, attacking them as they fall. You will receive energy and turn on the passive.
  2. Use the abilities of other supports and sub-dealers, hitting from the pocket or giving infusion if the main dealer does not have such an opportunity.
  3. Use the Guardian of the Clouds' elemental explosion to heal the squad and deal minor Anemo damage. Then you immediately switch to the main damage dealer and begin performing jump attacks with him. Perform 8 similar strikes, and then repeat the cycle from the very beginning.

If you have C6 open and plan to make this adept into a main DD, then the rotation will change. Firstly, you need to get 3 heavenly ladders to increase your crit. damage from subsequent attacks while falling by 70%. Secondly, after activating the ult, you don’t need to switch to another hero – you will need to activate the E-shka (preferably triple) 8 times, which will lose its cooldown.

The gameplay for Xian Yun in this case will be largely reminiscent of the game for Xiao. But you'll have to work hard to level up her stats so that she can do the same damage as Yax's Defender.

Best builds for Xian Yun

Best weapons

< p>For support, you should choose catalysts that increase attack power and/or energy recovery in order to increase the effectiveness of healing and be able to use your ultimate more often. Damage dealers can add “guns” to this list that increase crit. damage and/or crit chance (we will note them separately). The most interesting options are listed in the table below.

< tr>

Name and rarityCharacteristics (level 1 -90)Passive ability

Xian Yun in Genshin Impact: guide to the best builds

Loud Cry of the Crane (5 stars)

Base Attack: 49~741

Attack Bonus: 3.6~16.54%

Increases damage from team members' falling attacks by 28-80% for 20 seconds after the weapon carrier's falling attack hits an enemy. Getting hit by falling members of the pack restores the hero 2.5-3.5 units of energy. Regeneration occurs once every 0.7 seconds, even if the owner of the catalyst is not on the battlefield. Xian Yun’s signature, which strengthens her both as a support and as a damage dealer. Add. energy will allow you to ult more often. However, there is no huge gap between it and the options below, so if you have a choice between a signature weapon or C1, then open the constellation.

Xian Yun in Genshin Impact: guide to the best builds

Eye of the Oath (4 stars)

Attack power: 6~27.6%

Base attack: 44~565

< p>For 10 seconds, increases the energy recovery stat by 24~48% after activating an elemental skill. Gives a huge increase in attack power and allows you to use your ultimate on cooldown. On the 5th awakening, it lags behind the signature by only 10% (the damage bonus to the main DD is reduced by another ten). Thus, it can be called the best F2P weapon for Xian Yun. But you could only get it during the main event of patch 2.5.

Xian Yun in Genshin Impact: guide for the best builds

Sky Atlas (5 stars)

Attack power: 7.2~33%

Basic attack : 48~674

Gives a 12~24% bonus to all types of elemental damage. When the hero hits with normal attacks, once every 30 seconds a special effect can occur, causing 160~320% of the physical damage from the carrier's attack to enemies. Gives a huge increase to attack power, and therefore increases the effectiveness of healing and damage from shock waves. Not a bad option for a damage dealer either. However, you will have to take VE somewhere: add a second Anemo character to the squad, look for artifacts for energy, or give supports Favonius weapons.
< p>

Xian Yun in Genshin Impact: guide to the best builds

Memory of Dust (5 stars)

Attack Power: 10.8~49.6%

Base Attack: 46~608

Increases the strength of the shield on the wearer by 20~40%, and also increases its attack rate by up to five times by 4~8% per enemy hit for 8 seconds. If this happens while the hero is under a protective barrier, then this bonus is doubled. Significantly increases attack power, which will be useful for both support and damage dealers. However, to maximize the potential of this catalyst, you will definitely need to take a shield member into your team.

Xian Yun in Genshin Impact: guide to the best builds

Favonius Codex (4 stars)

Energy recovery: 10~ 45.9%

Base Attack: 42~510

Critical hits have a 60~100% chance to create three pure energy particles every 12~6 seconds. Allows you to completely forget about energy recovery and activate your ultimate on cooldown. However, you will have to think about where to get an additional attack from. Plus, you will have to increase the crit chance to at least 30-40%.

Xian Yun in Genshin Impact: guide to the best builds

Wine and Song (4 stars)

Base attack: 44~565

< p>Energy recovery: 6.7~30.6%

Normal strike hits reduce the stamina cost of dash and abilities that replace sprint by 14-22% for 5 seconds. Using a dash or a skill that replaces sprint increases attack power by 20-40% for 5 seconds. Relieves energy shortages and can increase attack power, but to get the second buff you must dash. We recommend performing them before activating the ult.

Xian Yun in Genshin Impact: guide to the best builds

Hakushin Ring (4 stars)

Base attack: 44~ 565

Energy Recovery: 6.7~30.6%

When triggering a reaction related to Electro, all team members whose element matches that reaction receive a boost 10-20% to your elemental damage for 6 seconds. Provides the necessary energy for Xian Yun, however, for his passive to work, it is necessary to have an Electro hero in the squad.

Xian Yun in Genshin Impact: guide to the best builds

Epic of Dragon Slayers (3 stars)

HP: 7.7~ 35.2%

Base attack: 39~401

The character in rotation after the weapon bearer receives a 24~48% bonus to attack power for 10 seconds. The effect occurs once every 20 seconds. Increasing Xian Yun's health will not bring much benefit, but increasing the attack for the active hero is a good bonus, especially if you have Xiao or another similar main damage dealer in your squad.

Xian Yun in Genshin Impact: guide to the best builds

Kagura Truth

Crete. damage: 14.4~66.15%

Base attack: 46~608

Using an elemental skill gives the character equipped with this catalyst the “Kagura Dance” effect, which increases E-shki damage by 12%. This effect lasts 16 seconds and can stack up to 3 times. At level 3 of the effect, the character receives a 12% bonus damage with all elements. An excellent choice for Xian Yun as the main damage dealer, as it will significantly increase the damage from the E-shka, which will become the main source of damage for the adept. Plus, you will increase crits and elemental damage.

Best artifacts

As with catalysts, we recommend take artifacts that can increase attack power and energy recovery. Here you can also add a bonus to healing, additional buffs for main damage dealers and crits (if you plan to use Xian Yun as a damage dealer). The table below shows the best options.

ArtifactsBonusesBenefits

Xian Yun in Genshin Impact: guide to the best builds

Song of Bygone Times

2 items: 15% buff to heal .

4 items: when an equipped hero heals allied units, the “Aspiration” effect is activated within 6 seconds, remembering the entire amount of treatment received (but not more than +15 thousand to HP). After timing, the effect is converted into “Waves of Old Times”: absolutely any attacks of the active hero receive a buff of 8% of the total amount of previously calculated healing. The boost lasts up to 5 times or disappears after ten seconds of use. The “Aspiration” condition does not stack, but is capable of remembering the heal of several allies at once and does not require a hero equipped with the set to be on the battlefield.

Increases the effectiveness of treatment and gives additional damage to the active character. An excellent option for support if Xiao is present in the team.

Emerald Shadow

2 parts: increases Anemo damage by 15%.

4 pieces: Increases damage from Dispel by 60%. If this reaction interacts with another element, it reduces enemies' resistance to this element by 40% for 10 seconds.

Emerald Shadow  Suitable for both support and damage dealers in squads with at least a third of the damage refers to the Electro, Hydro, Pyro or Cryo element. To close the Dispersion, you can use both the Adept’s E-shka (hits more enemies) and her regular attacks (faster). Obtained from the Valley of Memories dungeon.

Ceremony of the ancient nobility

2 pieces: increases damage from elemental explosions by 20%.

4 pieces: when using an “ult”, the attack power of all team members increases by 20% for 12 seconds. The effect does not stack.

The bonus to damage from the ultimate for Xian Yun is not very useful, but the increase in attack power will be useful for your damage dealer, especially if it is Xiao. A good alternative to Emerald shadow in Anemo packs. Obtained from the Clear Water and Mountain Cave dungeon.

Xian Yun in Genshin Impact: guide to the best builds

< /p>

Sea Paint Clam

2 parts: increases the healing bonus by 15 percent.

4 parts: when healing allies, the hero will begin to create bubbles of sea paints, which record the restored health points, and then explode, causing damage to enemies in the amount of 90 percent of the calculated volume treatment. The bubble can appear once every 3.5 seconds and record up to 40 thousand regenerated HP. Only one bubble can exist at a time. It occurs even when the character is not on the battlefield.

Suitable for both support and damage dealers, because it can not only increase the effectiveness of treatment, but also the personal damage of the adept.

Xian Yun in Genshin Impact: guide to the best builds

Gladiator's End/Shimenawa's Memories /Vinnabar Afterlife/Echoes of the Offering

2 parts: Increases attack power by 18%.

2 pieces: Increases attack power by 18%.

Until you collect the above full sets, you can use 2 pieces of artifacts that increase ATK to enhance healing and increase damage from abilities.

As for the main characteristics of artifacts, take the hourglass for attack power (or restoration of energy if there is a lack of energy), the cup (bowl) for attack power, and the crown (hat) for attack power (or critical chance/critical damage in ratio 1 to 2 if you plan to play as a damage dealer). The priority for choosing secondary parameters is as follows: energy recovery, ATK%, elemental mastery and crits.

Note that Xian Yun’s energy recovery value in the absence of a second Anemo character in the squad should be more than 200%. If it is available, 170-180% will be enough.

Best commands for Xian Yun

We have already noted above that the Guardian of the Clouds is best combined with damage dealers who play through attacks in the fall. Today there are only two such heroes in the game: Xiao and Ka Ming. It is with them that she will be able to reveal her potential by 120%. However, that's not all

In theory, you can use any fighters who do not play from stances (for example, Ayato, Wanderer or Tartaglia), but only characters with high multipliers for falling strikes will show the greatest effectiveness. They, as a rule, are the owners of a two-handed sword. Even better if they can get an infusion to stop the Melt or Steam reactions. Let us remind you once again that such attacks do not have a cooldown for application.

You can also use a couple of damage dealers with elemental infusion, for example, Raiden, who has good multipliers for attacks in the fall and can easily apply Electro to her weapon element.

If you managed to knock out C6, and you want to turn Xian Yun into a main damage dealer, then you will definitely need to add Faruzan (C6) and Bennett to the squad with her so that she can at least get a little closer to the top damage dealers. Of course, not everyone will be ready to pour so many resources into a character. All optimal commands are shown in the table below.

  • Scroll of Divine Magic, Seal and Forbidden Curse – drops from Shamachurls, purchased with stardust and created using Alchemy.
  • Dark Eye of the Vortex – drops from the weekly boss All-Devouring Narwhal.
  • Crown of Epiphany – can be obtained during events, as well as by upgrading the Sacred Sakura, the Permafrost Tree, the Tree of Dreams and the Lucin Fountain.

Xian Yun in Genshin Impact: guide to the best builds

As for the order of leveling up abilities, first of all, level up the explosion of the elements, and then increase the elemental skill. If you have C6, pump up your E-shka at the same time as your ult. Normal attacks are not needed even by the main damage dealer, so there is no need to level them up.

How to level up a character

You have to collect many different resources, the names and methods of obtaining which are listed below.

< p>Xian Yun in Genshin Impact: guide to the best builds

You can get Vayuda Turquoise from Anemo Hypostasis, Dvalin Storm Terror, Seki no Kami, Semi-eternal Matrix Observation Operator Algorithm and Magu Kenki. They are also sold in the souvenir shop.
