In Genshin Impact, Activating Devices are special collectible items that are required to be installed in chess pieces placed in Safha Shatranj. As a result, you will be able to open the Blood Moon trophy and get blueprints for new decor items. In this guide, we will tell you where to find these parts, and how exactly to use them.
Where to find activating devices
You should start searching for these items only after you place the pieces on the chess site in the Hadramavet desert and complete the mission “Memory of Gurabad”. Otherwise, these devices simply will not appear in your world.
In total, you can find seven activating devices that are scattered throughout the Twilight desert. The map above shows their approximate location. Note that when you spot the device, it will try to fly away from you – follow it and wait until it stops, then pick it up.
Activating Device: Border Fort
- Location: Aaru Village
Move to the teleport in the specified area, go forward a little and turn right – you will immediately see a device hovering over the cliff. When you get close to it, it will start flying away from you.
Start flying after him down like a fairy and land on the opposite side near the wooden bridge. You can now bring up this ancient artifact.
Activating device: Boat of Souls
- Location: Temple Hemenu
Teleport to a fast travel point in the indicated area, then immediately turn left and climb up the ladder. In the corridor you will find a new device.
Then just run after the device, which will stop near a large boat, mounted on a pedestal in a spacious cave.
Activating device: King Deshret's tomb
- Location: King Deshret's tomb
Travel to the teleport near the eastern entrance to the ruins, then turn around and you will immediately spot the item you need at the bottom of the stairs.
Approach him, and then start following him in a straight line until he stops near the stone platform.
Activating Device: Pillar of King Deshret
- Location: Hall of Opet
Teleport to the underground fast travel point north of the tomb, then use the 4-leaf symbols to get to the other side and climb the stairs.
Go to the entrance to the Hall of Opet and you will see a device hovering near it, which will immediately starts flying away from you. Follow him to the glowing blue pyramid and grab the device.
Trigger Device: Deshret's Crystal Goblet
- Location: Mount Damavand
Travel to the teleport in the marked area, turn the camera to the right, and you will immediately see the item you need . Approach him and then run after him around the area until he stops and pick him up.
Activating device : Hajj Nisut
- Location: Hajj Nisut
Travel to the location's west teleporter, then fly east to the temple entrance using the four leaf symbols. Right next to the obelisks you will find another device.
Start running after the artifact ahead – it will stop near the passage to the ruins.
Activating device: Temple of Gurabad

Teleport to the specified area and go up the stairs to the temple entrance. Right in the passage you will find a new device – approach it.
Run after him to the primordial obelisk below, and then go to the platform where the device will stop, and you can pick it up.
How to Use the Activating Devices
After collecting all 7 activating devices, return to the chess court located in Safha Shatranj. Approach any chess piece, select the “Install” option and place an artifact in it. As a result, an amazing chest with a blueprint for a piece of furniture for a teapot of serenity will appear nearby.
Now do the same with the remaining six figures. Note that to place the Deshret Crystal Goblet, you will need to climb directly onto the statue using the four-leaf symbol.

After installing all seven devices, you will also unlock a trophy called “Blood Moon”, for which you will get 5 primogems.
