Types and features of banners in Honkai: Star Rail

If you have played before in Genshin Impact, you will quickly figure out the local banner system. For example, there are also two main types of banners here:

  • Permanent (star jump and starting jump) – they are valid all the time, regardless of current events, promotions and patches. Thanks to them, you can knock out certain characters and light cones with a rarity of 4 and 5 stars. They require Star Passes, which can be purchased for 160 Star Jades from the Pom Pom in-game shop to complete the spins.
  • Temporary (character and light cone event jumps) – change regularly with the release of a new update, and during one patch they change twice. As a rule, they provide an opportunity to get new (if they are released) or old (within reruns) 5-star fighters. They require “Special Star Passes” for 160 Star Jades in the in-game Pom Pom store to spin them.

We strongly advise that you only spend Star Jades on Special Star Passes (with one exception, described below), as you are more likely to get the character or light cone you want.

Starting jump

All novice players can use it approximately 40-60 minutes after the start of the main storyline. They are given 50 attempts for free, and within them you can be guaranteed to get a 5-star character. Single jumps are not allowed, meaning you will need to do 10 spins at once.

Every attempt is given a 20% discount, so instead of 10 star passes you will only spend 8, which means that it will take 40 “tickets” to complete all 50 jumps. For every 10th jump, you will be guaranteed to receive one 4-star hero or a light cone.

In general, the following characters and weapons can be dropped during Jump Jump:

  • 5-star characters: Yanqing, Armor, Himeko, Cheetah, Welt, Bailu, and Clara.
  • 4-Star Characters: Any available in the game.
  • 4-Star and 3-Star Light Cones: All available in Standard Banners.

The presence of such pleasant starting bonuses makes it much easier to get certain legendary heroes already at the start of the game. For this reason, it will most likely have a very effective reroll mechanic, which we may talk about in the future.

Star Jump

Permanently available to all players at any time. We advise you to spend exactly 300 spins on it, and it is desirable to do this at the beginning of the game. The fact is that after completing the specified number of jumps, you can pick up any legendary character from the list for free: Clara, Himeko, Welt, Armor, Cheetah, Bailu or Yanqing.

After that, we do not recommend that you spend Star Jades on buying spins for a standard banner, since on the 90th jump it is guaranteed to drop a 5-star hero or a light cone, and they have a common guarantor for two. Thus, getting a specific weapon or character becomes extremely problematic.

In addition, on the 10th jump, you will be guaranteed to receive from one or more 4-star fighters or weapons (exceptions include heroes and light cones, which are currently present in event banners). In general, Star Jump can drop:

  • 5-Star Characters: Yanqing, Armor, Himeko, Cheetah, Welt, Bailu, and Clara.
  • 4-Star Characters: All of the characters in the game.
  • 5-Star Light Cones: In the Name of Peace (Non-Being), The Battle is Not Over (Harmony), Night on the Milky Way (Erudition), Time Waits for No One (Affluence), Dead Dream (Hunting), Moment of Freedom (Preservation) and Something Irreplaceable (Destruction).
  • Virtually all kinds of 4-star light cones.

Temporary banners in operation

Below is a summary of how these banners work. See the Warrantor's guide for more details.

  • Event Jump: Character – On your 90th jump, you are guaranteed to get a 5-star character that has a 50% chance to be an event character (if it happens to be a “standard ”, then the event one with a 100% chance will drop already at the 180th spin). On your 10th jump, you will definitely drop one (or more) 4-star character or light cone.
  • Event Jump: Light Cone – On the 80th jump, you are guaranteed to get a 5-star light cone, which with a 75% chance will be an event (if it turns out to be “standard”, then an event with a 100% chance will drop already at the 160th spin ). On the 10th jump, you will definitely drop one (or more) 4-star light cone or character.

Typically, event jumps last exactly three weeks, or 21 days. Thus, within one patch, these banners change twice.

Future banners

Information on future banners is taken from leaks published by dataminers and insiders. Don't trust it 100%, because the developers can change everything at the very last moment. On the other hand, such leaks often turn out to be reliable, so they allow you to save “jumps” on the heroes or light cones you like.

Update 1.0 (second phase)

Past banners< /h2>

Here we will indicate the jumps that were in effect in the past. What is it for? The fact is that the developers are unlikely to make banners for the same heroes with a break of 2-3 months, so if you saw that, for example, they already made a banner for Zele, then you should not expect her to be reran in the next updates.

We hope that the schedule of all banners in Honkai: Star Rail will help you better strategize to knock out certain characters and light cones.
