Completing the quest “Return of Calamity” in Dragon’s Dogma 2
How to start the task
First of all, you will need to get to Vernworth as part of the quest “The Throne of the Lord”, and then chat with Brant and take three story missions from him: “Prisoned Lawyer”, “Clearing the Monsters” and “Disa’s Intrigues”. Be sure to go through any of them. Having done this, return to the city and go to its northeastern entrance.
Here, wait for the cart, pay the driver 100 coins and go to the village of Melve, where you have already been. Before this, you can also take on the quest “Messenger on the Cart”, given by Donovan, standing next to the cart waiting post. After arriving at the settlement, enter the ruined part of the settlement and you will see the locals fighting the drake. After this, the corresponding mission starts. However, it will not appear in your quest log yet.
Important: You may miss this task if you complete the story quest “An Extravaganza of Deception”. Therefore, if you have already started it, then under no circumstances talk to Brant when the coronation is completed, but immediately go to Melve.
How to drive away or kill a dragon
In fact, driving away the drake is relatively simple, since several NPCs will help you at once, including the dragon hunter Sigurd. The main thing is not to stand in front of the monster's head, as it often spits out fire and acid. We advise you to hit his weak points – the pink growths on his body – to inflict maximum damage.
When the boss has 3-4 bars of health left (purple dots at the bottom of the life bar), he will soar into the sky and then fly off to the mountains to lick his wounds (in the future you can find him if you wish – he is located in the Tower of the Dragon's Breath in the kingdom of the beastmen) . Once the monster flies away, a conversation will automatically begin with Ulrika, who will thank you for your help and then leave. This quest starts now.
Important: You can easily kill the drake before it flies away. To do this, quickly run to the tower located to the left of Ulrika's house and climb to the very top. Then sit down at the ballista and load it. Pawns will help you turn it towards the monster. Now shoot the monster 2-3 times. It's best to shoot him when he's on the ground. If the dragon has risen into the air, then aim just above its body. After killing an enemy, you will automatically be transported to him – examine the corpse to receive the Dead Ringer glaive. Don't forget to also chat with Sigurd to unlock the Mystic Spearman vocation.

Now go about your business or wait 1-2 days and return to the village. Then go to Ulrika's house, located on a hill to the right of the ballista tower. Inside you will see her talking to Martin, who will accuse her of treason and say that he will definitely report her to the regent.

After Martin leaves, enter Ulrika's office and chat with her. She will invite you to spend the night at her house. When you wake up, you will not find the girl in the mansion, so go outside and talk to Lennart – he will ask you to find the headman and find out where she is staying.
Where to find Ulrica
Unfortunately, the game does not give any clues about where the archer is now, so you will have to look for her yourself. However, we advise you to simply go to the village of Harv, located west of Wernworth. If you have already been here before, then simply move to the return crystal there using the travel stone.
Important: We strongly advise you to talk with Ulrika in this village after completing the quest “Scaly Invaders”. Otherwise, the task may be buggy.
When you reach the fishing settlement, go to its center and chat with Ulrika. She will say that she will not return to the village until she kills the dragon that attacked Melwe. There is no way to persuade the girl.
How to find Lennart
Now return to Melve and go to Ulrika’s house again. Inside it in the living room you will find Lennart – chat with him and tell him that the girl is alive and well. This will complete the task.
As a reward you will receive 2000 experience points, 4.5 thousands of gold and the Ring of Courage. Let’s add that you will start the task “Trouble at the Cape”, which will allow you to develop a romantic relationship with Ulrika.
