In Genshin Impact Dawnfrost is a catalyst of epic rarity (4★), created as a ritual vessel and once passed down from generation to generation by maidens of the far north. The weapon increases critical damage and buffs the MS twice for hitting an enemy with a charged attack and an E-shock.

How to get Dawn Frost in Genshin Impact
Increased chance of obtaining Dawn Frost will first appear in the limited-time weapon banner version 6.1 [October 22 to November 11]. After the period ends, the catalyst can most likely drop from any banners, but with a much lower probability.

Passive “Dreams of the Deep Night”: after a successful hit with a charged poke on an enemy, the wearer’s MC increases by a value from 72 to 144 units (for 10 seconds), and when hit by an E-shock, by another 48-96 units during the same period.
How upgrade Dawn Frost
To pump up Dawn Frost you will need a number of resources from Nod's Land, namely:
- Fragment (3 pcs.)/Sample (9 pcs.)/Legacy (9 pcs.)/Dream (4 pcs.) of the wonderful devices – obtained in the dungeon “Abandoned Lunar Court” on Mondays, Thursdays and Sundays;
- Shimmer (15 pcs.)/Radiance (18 pcs.)/Glory (27 pcs.) of the frosty night – loot dropped from elite mobs of the Descendants of the Frosty Night based throughout Nod's Land;
- Worn (10 pcs.)/Flawless (15 pcs.)/Frost-covered (18 pcs.) mandate – loot from new fatuists, most often patrolling the island of Paha in Nod Land;
- From 150 thousand moraand a little more 600 boost ore to fully upgrade the catalyst.
Remember: some of these materials are in the Paimon shop, and they can be purchased with star shine or dust.
How to awaken the Dawnfrost
The maximum potential of the Dawning Frost is revealed only after it is fully awakened (which is especially important since it is an epic weapon). Since the catalyst will be available in the temporary weapon banner of Patch 6.1, in order to achieve maximum power you will have toget up to 5 copies of it. The top screenshot shows how each awakening is reflected in the characteristics of the catalyst.
Gameplay of the Dawn Frost catalyst
Dawn Frost has a simple gameplay, based on the wearer implementing two different bonuses to elemental mastery: after a precise hit with an E-Shot and a charged attack on a target (both buffs have a 10-second uptime). Here is an approximate rotation that allows you to unlock both enhancements:
- Activate the buffs of supports (shields, healing, etc.), then press the pocket skills of the sub-DD;
- Then press the skills of the applicators, who assign the elemental statuses necessary for further reactions to the targets (this also includes skills that fill the squad with energy);
- Now it’s the bearer of Frost’s turn – the hero enters the field, uses E-shock and charged attacks, causing the main damage under the influence of bonuses – after 10 seconds the whole cycle repeats (if the bearer is not the main damage dealer, but simply buffs the squad with MS-dependent skills or passives, then bring the main one into the “window” of increasing characteristics DPS).
Which characters to put Dawn Frost on
Dawn Frost can be given to both main and sub-DPS who act on the field or support the team from the “pocket”. The following heroes can be considered as weapon carriers:

Heizo | The Wanderer and Heizo are also partially suitable for the lunar catalyst, however, some gameplay features of these damage dealers make Frost only one of many equipment options, and certainly not the most priority. |
Otherwise, the increase in crit. damage and average base attack make Dawn Frost a very good option for any ATK-dependent damage dealers, and a simple passive with bonuses to MS will be useful in squads due to reaction damage. In addition, the catalyst will benefit heroes who consistently use charged attacks or elemental skills.
