In Genshin Impact, Defense Scenario is a game mode in Patch 4.7 and part of the Mutual Security Enhancement Simulation event. As part of it, you will have to place fortifications and combat units to protect your base from enemy attack. As a reward, you will receive Analysis Progress, Exaltation Materials, and Source Stones. In this guide, we will tell you how to complete all levels.
How to start the Defense Scenario event
The first thing you'll need to do is complete the event's starting quest, called “Commanders and War Games,” to unlock access to two types of challenges, including the Defense Scenario. Then you can start clearing the first level. Please note that new stages will open gradually. The picture below shows the schedule.
The essence and rules of the event
In this activity you will have to place fortifications and use the leader skill to repel the attacks of monsters sent by the enemy. Before battle, you can view information about enemy waves. Each round includes 3 waves, and in all of them the monsters will change the direction of their attack. To study the information, you need to click on the inscription “Preparation for the test” in the upper left corner.
When you start a round, select units and fortifications, and then place them on your site. They will begin the battle as soon as the enemies are in your defense zone. You can also activate the leader skill to protect your mechanisms until all enemy waves are defeated. Skills are restored and can be used up to two times. To select where to apply the skill, you need to long press the button.
Note that after the destruction of your fortification mechanism, it is reset, after which it becomes hostile and expands the area where combat units are deployed. Let's add that units of one camp can capture the flags of fortifications by being near them for a certain period of time. This will lead to an expansion of the troop deployment area and an increase in the speed of their spawning by 25%.
From the defeated combat units drop support beacons – you can pick them up to then place your own units and fortifications. Allied units return to their starting position after the battle ends. Choose your positions carefully when deploying your army.
