In Genshin Impact, Dilapidated Obelisks are one of the puzzle types that you can encounter in the Hadramavet Desert. We are talking about special stones on which you should choose the correct symbols. In this guide, we will tell you where to find these riddles and what you need to do to solve them. Treasure chests are usually given as a reward for solving.

How to solve dilapidated obelisk puzzles
The essence of the riddle is not very complicated – the problem can only arise with the search for clues. After finding the stones with runes, you just need to hit them a few times so that the correct signs appear on them. How do you know which characters are correct? This is where difficulties can begin.
The fact is that next to the obelisks, as a rule, similar cobblestones with symbols are installed (usually they are smaller and you cannot change runes on them with blows) – these are the signs you need to put on the main stones. If you're lucky, the clues will be located right next to the puzzle location. Otherwise, you will have to look for them in nearby bushes and recesses.
The clue boulders are placed parallel to the obelisks that need to be changed symbols, so you don't get confused about which runes to choose on which stones. However, you can not bother looking for clues and just set the correct signs that are shown in our guide.
How to find and solve all riddles with obelisks
Before you start searching and solving puzzles with these objects, we advise you to go through the quest chain “Bilcis Memorial Service” and upgrade the genie Lilupar. This way you can open access to underground locations where puzzles can be hidden, and remove various obstacles on your way.
The map above shows the approximate location of all the dilapidated obelisk puzzles in Genshin Impact. Next, we will describe in detail how to get to them, and what needs to be done to solve them. Note that the obelisks in some locations may be connected to other puzzles.
Decrepit Obelisks 1 and 2
- Location: Lilupar Dungeon (Safkhe Shatranj)
Both puzzles are located in the underground location “Lilupar Dungeon”, which you can get into during or after completing the world quest “The Temple Where Sands Flow Like Tears”. By choosing the right runes on the obelisks, you will unlock the Dendro monuments, the activation of which is required to receive a luxurious chest.

Decrepit obelisks 3
- Location: Ruins of Gurabad (Safkhe Shatranj)
The puzzle is located underground. Access to the location is unlocked by completing the quest “The Temple Where the Sands Flow Like Tears”. Move to the indicated underground teleport, and then go forward and turn left. Enter the room ahead and turn right into a spacious room with a large crack in the floor.
Jump down to the very bottom, turn around and run into the cave. Climb up and gravitate towards the four leaf symbol near the statue. On the ledge you will find 3 stones with runes. Put on them the signs shown in the screenshot below in order to get a regular chest.
Decrepit obelisks 4
- Location: Safkhe Shatranj
This riddle is unlocked by completing the quest “The Temple Where the Sands Run Like Tears”. Go to the marked area. Here you will find 6 stones standing around a locked chest. We have covered this puzzle in more detail in a separate guide. The gif below shows the correct characters.

- Location: Safkhe Shatranj
Head to the northwestern part of the indicated area. Here you will see 3 stones with runes. The correct characters are shown in the last two screenshots below. As a reward, you will receive an amazing chest with a decor item scheme.

- Location: Safkhe Shatranj
Head to the eastern part of the indicated area. Here you will see five stones with runes. The correct characters are shown in the last two screenshots below. As a reward, you will be given a regular chest.
Deteriorated obelisks 7
- Location: Wadi al-Majooj
Get to the indicated area – at the foot of the cliff you will find 3 stones with runes. The hints are located at the top, on the edge of the cliff, which can be reached with the help of a 4-leaf symbol. The correct characters are shown in the second screenshot below. As a reward, you will be given a regular chest.

- Location: Camp Tanit
Go down into the gorge to the west of the desert settlement. Here you will see 3 stones with runes, and the clues will be located on the right. The correct characters are shown in the second screenshot below. As a reward, you will receive a regular chest.
Deteriorated obelisks 9
- Location: Camp Tanit
Go a little east of the hermit settlement and look for 3 stones with runes near the dilapidated wall. Hints are nearby, on the right. The correct characters are shown in the second screenshot below. As a reward, you will receive a regular chest.
The dilapidated obelisks 10
- Location: Wadi al-Majuj
< p>To the west of the east teleport of the specified area, you can find 3 stones with runes. The correct characters are shown in the second screenshot below. As a reward, you will receive a regular chest.
Deteriorated obelisks 11
- Location: Wadi al-Majooj
Go to the marked area and look for 5 stones with runes around the bush. The correct characters are shown in the last two screenshots below. As a reward, you will be given a regular chest.

- Location: Wadi al-Majooj
Travel to the east teleport of the specified area, and then go further east along the road and you will find 3 rune stones. The correct signs are shown in the second screenshot below. As a reward, you will be given a regular chest.
The dilapidated obelisks 13
- Location: Ghoul Pass
Head to the marked area. Here you will find a large atmospheric whirlwind, which requires 2 charges of Genie Power to dissipate (on the opposite side there is a genie shrine, where you can recharge the lamp), so you will have to level Lilupar.
Removing the tornado reveals 3 rune stone. The correct characters are shown in the last two screenshots below. As a reward, you will receive a regular chest.
Deteriorated obelisks 14
- Location: Ghoul Pass
Get to the gorge shown in the screenshots below and then jump down. Once inside the spacious cave, glide towards the three obelisks near the stairs.
Then put the signs on the stones, which are shown in the screenshot below (the hint, by the way, is located right at the top). As a result, you will be given a regular chest.
Dilapidated Obelisks 15
- Location: Ghoul Pass
Access to this location will be unlocked by completing the Bilcis Funeral Service questline. Move to the specified underground teleport, and then run forward along the left path and go through a huge triangular passage. Run past the original obelisk even further and go down the stairs and to the right.
You will find yourself in a new spacious room. Here again turn right and go down the stairs even lower. Pass through the passage with the quatrefoil in the middle and jump down. There you will find 5 dilapidated obelisks.
You need to put the symbols shown in the screenshot below on 5 stones. As a result, you will be given a rich chest.
Decrepit obelisks 16, 17 and 18
- Location: Ghoul Passage
Move to the specified teleport, and then run forward and jump down the cliff. There you will find Pyro Totems and a locked luxury chest. To activate the monuments, you will need to place the correct symbols on the obelisks, as shown in the screenshots below.
Near one of the totems you need to interact with only one stone, that is, in fact, there are three puzzles with obelisks waiting for you. A detailed solution to the entire puzzle is presented in our separate guide.

- Location: Ghoul Pass
Climb up to the ledge shown on the map below. There you will find 3 stones with runes. The correct signs are shown in the last two screenshots below. As a reward, you will be given a regular chest.
The dilapidated obelisks 20
- Location: Ghoul Pass
Head to the area shown on the map below. Here you will find four obelisks and a fairy flying next to them. It should be noted that the spirit changes the symbols on the rocks it flies near, so you will need to quickly change the symbols.

Wait until the fairy flies near some obelisk, and then immediately change the rune on it, focusing on a small stone standing behind it. Do this four times. The correct signs are shown in the screenshots below. After that, the spirit will fly into your house, and you will receive a rich chest.

- Location: Sands of al-Azif
< p>Go to the marked area. There you will find 4 stones with runes. The correct ones are shown in the last two screenshots below. As a reward, you will be given an ordinary chest.

< p>Get to the northern part of the indicated area shown in the screenshots below. There you will immediately find 7 stones with runes. The correct signs are shown in the second screenshot below. - Location: Panjwakhe Ruins
Go to the location shown on the map below. Here you will find 3 stones with runes next to the fragments of automatons. The hint is located a little higher on the ledge. The correct characters are shown in the second screenshot below. As a reward, you will receive a regular chest.

- Location: Panjwakhe Ruins
Head to the location shown on the map below. There, in the gorge, you will find 3 stones with runes, and the clue is on the southern ledge. The correct characters are shown in the second screenshot below. As a reward, you will be given a regular chest.
Decrepit obelisks 25
- Location: Panjwahe Ruins
Located near the entrance to the Panjwahe Temple dungeon. You will need to solve this puzzle in order to free one of the two fairies needed to unlock the dungeon. We have covered this in more detail in a separate guide. Note that the spirit will change symbols when approaching the obelisks, so you need to quickly select the correct signs shown in the screenshots below.

- Location: Qusayr al-Inhid
Go to the area shown on the map below and you will notice 3 stones with runes on the stone ledge. The correct signs are shown in the second screenshot below. As a reward, you will be given a regular chest.
The dilapidated obelisks 27
- Location: Qusayr al-Inhid
< p>Go to the place shown on the map below. Here you will find a large atmospheric vortex, to dissipate which you will need a pumped Lilupar and 2 charges of Strength (there is a djinn sanctuary nearby).

- Location: Qusayr al-Inhid
Go to the area shown on the map below – there you will find 4 stones with runes. The correct characters are shown in the last two screenshots below. As a reward, you will be given a regular chest.

- Location: Qusayr al-Inhid
Go to the place marked on the map. There you will find 4 stones with runes located around a small cliff. The correct characters are shown in the screenshots below. As a reward, you will receive a regular chest.
The dilapidated obelisks 30
- Location: Land of the Three Channels
It is located in the underground location, which opens when completing the quest chain “Dirge of Bilcis”. Move to the underground teleport shown on the map, and then turn left, go forward and jump off the cliff.
While flying, turn around and you will find 5 rune stones below. The correct characters are shown in the picture below. Solve the puzzle to get a rich chest.
Dilapidated Obelisks 31
- Location: Break-legs Valley
Location in the underground location, which is unlocked by completing the Bilcis Memorial Service questline. Move to the underground teleport shown on the map, and then turn around and start running deep into the cave up to the golem of the ruins. Go through the metal tunnel and you'll see the obelisks below at the exit.
Jump down and go left to the two rune stones. Put the necessary symbols on them, and then go to the other two cobblestones on the right. By selecting the necessary signs on them, you will receive a rich chest.
Decrepit obelisks 32
- Location: Wadi al-Majooj
Go to the area indicated on the map. There you will find a locked precious chest, a fairy, and some dilapidated obelisks. A detailed walkthrough of the puzzle is presented in our separate guide. Here we will only indicate the correct characters in the screenshots. As a reward, you will receive a precious chest.
Decrepit obelisks 33
- Location: Land of the Three Channels
Go to the marked area. Here you will find a locked gem chest and several Dendro monuments – you will need to activate them to get the contents of the chest. To unlock one of the totems, you will first need to solve a small riddle with obelisks.
