How to start the quest
Before you can take on this mission, you will need to meet a couple of conditions, namely:
- Complete the previous part of the chain called “Do not put badly, do not lead the thief into sin 3”.
- Complete the fourth stage of managing a museum called Full House.
After dealing with these requirements, wait for the quest to appear in your journal. If he still doesn't show up, then move to the museum and chat with Eris, then click on the “Go to Missions” button. If there is no inscription, then you most likely did not fulfill some condition.
Head to the corridor of the Goethe Hotel
First of all, talk to Pela, who can be found in the museum, not far from where interviews are usually held. She will inform you that she was able to find out who really stole the paintings.
Next, you have to go to the Goethe Hotel, located in the Administrative District. Enter the lobby, go up the stairs and enter the hotel corridor. Then Pela will contact you and tell you about the password.
What to answer Uncle Merzlyak
Go to the marked door, and then knock on it in a certain way: “Three times lightly and twice hard.” Next, you will need to correctly answer Uncle Merzlyak's questions:

- Fifty thousand credits.
- Um… A little under sixty.
By selecting these answers, you can feel free to enter the room. If you fail the test, then you have to break down the door. Either way, you'll get inside. You will learn that Sampo was the criminal's “consultant”.
He will ask you not to tell the Silvermane Guards about him. As a reward, he will offer you a third of the amount earned. You will have two options to choose from:
- (Refuse) Do you think I can be bribed? – Sampo will escape anyway, but you will get 2 adventure logs.
- (Agree) Okay, agreed – Sampo will escape, and you will get 5000 credits.
In general, you can choose any option to choose from, since it will not affect the ending of the quest. Return to the museum again and chat with Eris. She will thank you and hand over the note that Sampo left. The guy will express a desire to work in one of the museum halls as a caretaker.
This task will come to an end. As a reward, you will receive 100 exploration experience, 40 star jade, 3 travel guides and 20 thousand jade. Plus, you'll unlock the Cat and Mouse trophy, which rewards you with 5 more Jades.
