In God of War Ragnarok, Yggdrasil Gems are special collectible items that are required in order to fully repair the Yggdrasil Amulet and unlock the As Things Evolve Legendary Achievement. In this guide, we will tell you where to find them.

Where to find all the Yggdrasil gems
You will gain access to the Yggdrasil amulet after defeating the Nidhogg boss in the 6th story quest called ” Reckoning” (The Reckoning). In total, it has 9 slots, and 2 of them will be opened at the very beginning. To restore the remaining 7 nests, you will need to find the gems of Yggdrasil and take them to the blacksmith's shop.
In addition, 2 gems drop from some of the enemies you encounter in the story. If you forgot to pick them up, you can then pick up these items from the blue chest located near the blacksmith. The remaining 5 gems are hidden in certain legendary chests. All these places are covered in the guide.
Note that the amulet itself is necessary to install various enchantments into it, which give a variety of passive buffs. Some of them can greatly increase Kratos' combat stats, so we highly recommend that you unlock all 9 slots.
Yggdrasil Jewel 1
- Region: Midgard
- Location: The Path
It can be considered a story reward, as you can get it after defeating the Frost Phantom, which you will definitely encounter during the passage of the main task “Word of Destiny”. Don't forget to pick up the gem from the ground when you deal with the monster.
Yggdrasil Jewel 2
- Region: Svartalfheim
- Location: The Forge
It is an automatic story reward, as it drops from the Cursed Spite (Ogre) as part of the main quest “The smith of his own fate.” You will encounter this enemy in the Forge.
Gem of Yggdrasil 3
- Region: Alfheim
- Location: The Forbidden Sands
Can be found after completing the quest The Reckoning. When you enter the Elven Library in the Elven Sanctuary, turn around and you will see capture points on both sides of the room. Use any of them to get to the back of the room and find the legendary gem chest.
Gem of Yggdrasil 4
- Region: Svartalfheim
- Location: Alberich Island
You can start searching for it after completing the quest The Blacksmith of Your Destiny. Use the spear to break the stone. Grab the chain and pull it down, then use the special arrow and your ax to freeze the mechanism.
Next, return to the deck and use the ax to freeze the geyser and lower the elevator. Climb onto it and pull the ax towards you, thereby rising up. Then use the capture points and you will reach the desired legendary chest.
Gem of Yggdrasil 5
- Region: Midgard
- Location: The Oarsmen
You can get it as part of the “Word of Destiny” quest. The desired legendary chest is quite easy to find when exploring the indicated area. Pull on the giant chain and you'll find a ladder leading down. Go down and turn the camera to the right to notice the chest.
Gem of Yggdrasil 6
- Region: Vanaheim
- Location: Noatun's Garden
Can be found after completing the quest The Reckoning. The necessary chest is located in the hall, which is impossible to get into because of the red vines. To get to the chest, you will first need to leave the Garden of Noatun. Swim back and swim under the broken bridge. From here, go around the left bank and keep moving to the left until you reach a place where you can get on land.
Climb the steps and you will find yourself on a broken bridge. Jump over the chasm and use Freya's runic arrows to burn the vines. While in the same place, throw your ax at the weak point of the chain in order to break it, and you will enter the hall with the legendary chest. You can go back by cable car.
Gem of Yggdrasil 7
- Region: Vanaheim
- Location: The Jungle
You can find him after completing the Creatures of Prophecy and Favor Return of the River quests. The chest is only available during daylight hours. From the Mystic Gate at the entrance to the Jungle, start sailing east until you find a small dock.
Get out on land and squeeze through the gap. Ahead you will be able to cross the river. Continue following this path to the right, jumping up to the left. Soon you will reach a wall on the right with a gap through which you can squeeze into a new area. Do this and then jump down the hole. Use the ax to get out of the cage and go forward, where you will find the legendary treasure chest.
As a result, you will find all 7 Yggdrasil Gems in God of War Ragnarok. Now take them to the blacksmith shop to repair the amulet and unlock the “How Things Go” trophy.
