In update 1.0 “Welcome to Teyvat,” a 5-star one-handed weapon, the Heavenly Sword, appears in Genshin Impact. This blade is suitable for a wide range of characters due to its high base attack and universal passive ability. In this guide, we will figure out how to get and upgrade the Heavenly Sword, why it is good, and also on which heroes it looks better than its competitors.
How to get the Heavenly Sword
The Heavenly Sword is standard 5-star weapon – can be obtained from any weapon or standard banner.
At the time of update 4.6 “Two worlds are burning, the scarlet night is going out » dated April 24, 2024, the Heavenly Sword is available in the following banners:
- Weapon Event Prayer – “Deity Incarnate”
- Standard Prayer – “Wanderlust”
It is worth considering that this sword cannot be obtained from the “Beginner’s Prayer”, like any other 5-star weapon.
Main characteristics of the Heavenly Sword
- Rarity: 5 stars.
- Base attack: 46 (level 1) – 608 (level 90)
- Energy Recovery Bonus (%): 12 (level 1) – 55, 1 (90 level)
The sword's ability works as follows: when an elemental burst is activated, the wearer of the Heavenly Sword increases his movement and attack speed by 10%, and normal/charged strikes deal an additional 20 % damage, buffs last 12 seconds. Critical hit chance increases by 4% indefinitely.
It is important to note that while the boost from a passive ability is active, a weak blue aura appears around the sword, and upward arrows are visible around the character, symbolizing stat improvements.
How to awaken the Heavenly Sword
To increase bonuses from a weapon's passive ability, it must be awakened. To awaken the Heavenly Sword, like most other weapons in the game, you need to knock out its duplicate. The maximum awakening level is 5. Specific improvements from awakenings are listed below:
How to upgrade the Heavenly Sword
The materials used to upgrade the Heavenly Sword are presented in the table below. To avoid calculations, the last line displays the total amount of required resources.
- Milk, Cracked, Broken Arctic Wolf Tooth and Arctic Wolf Nostalgia can be knocked out in the Cecilia's Garden dungeon on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Also, three baby teeth can be purchased from Marjorie for 10 anemo seals each. Marjorie is located in Mondstadt, opposite Katherine.
- Branches, Leaves, Sprouts of the arteries of the earth are knocked out from the magicians/messengers/readers of the abyss, they can be tracked in the adventure book. Earth Artery Sprouts can be purchased in the in-game store for 15 stardust/piece. (no more than 12 per month).
- Slime/Excretions/Slime Concentrate can be obtained after killing slimes of any kind, they can also be tracked using the adventure book.
How The Heavenly Sword is suitable for heroes
The Heavenly Sword is truly universal and will suit a fairly wide range of heroes due to its useful increase in crit chance and a plus to VE for all heroes. Damage and attack/movement speed buffs are quite situational, but they look very good on some heroes. The following is a list of suitable heroes:
Character | Advantages |
---|---|
Bennett | One of the best uses for this sword. The “Energy Restoration” substat will allow Bennett's support to use his ultimate more often, thanks to this the pack will not sag in health, and the active character will receive a bonus to attack almost the entire time of the battle. |
Kazuha | It makes sense to take this sword on Kazuha only for the sake of Energy Restoration, which will allow us take the sands to master the elements. |
Djinn | The situation is similar to Bennett, the Heavenly Sword will also increase the use of the ultimate. A high base of the blade will increase the damage dealt by attacks and healing from elemental explosions, and the Genie sometimes likes to hit with normal attacks. |
Xing Qiu | The Heavenly Sword can be an alternative to the Ceremonial Sword. Energy restoration is critical for him, since an elemental explosion costs as much as 80 energy units. |
Laila | VE, critical chance, increased attack damage – look great on Layla. |
Ayaka | Thanks to the energy recovery, the Heavenly Sword looks just fine on her, but in most situations Amenoma Kageuchi will be much better. |
Keya Traveler Ke Qing | These characters can wear the Heavenly Sword for lack of alternatives, since energy restoration not the most relevant substat for them. |
How to effectively use the Heavenly Sword
The Heavenly Sword does not require any extraordinary actions to be used effectively. After using an explosion of elements, it is worth delivering a couple of normal or charged blows – this will already be enough to unlock the potential of this weapon, however, if the hero wearing the Heavenly Sword is a DD (for example, Ayaka), then it is worthwhile to linger significantly on the battlefield and defend at least half actions of the sword's passive.
