Release date Honkai: Star Rail 2.2
HoYoverse has returned to the previous patch length of 6 weeks, so the next version of the game will be released on May 8, 2024. If the developers do not change the schedule again, it will be replaced by update 2.3 around June 19 of this year.
You can preload the client a few days before its release. The developers will probably carry out technical work, which can last up to five hours. Players are usually given compensation in the amount of 300 star jades.
Live broadcast on Honkai: Star Rail 2.2
Developers almost always hold special streams one and a half to two weeks before the release of the next update. They are usually organized on Friday-Sunday. The live broadcast of the current patch will be held on April 26-28, 2024 at 14:30 Moscow time. As part of it, 3 promotional codes for 300 star jades will be published.
New banners and characters
The company has already officially unveiled two new characters that will most likely be released in patch 2.2, namely Robin and Boothill. Insiders have published the characteristics and approximate time of appearance of these heroes.
First phase banners
In the first half of the patch, during Jumps you can get the following characters:

- 4-star – unknown yet.
Robin is a popular singer originally from Penaconia who has become famous throughout the galaxy. The family decided to invite her to the Harmony Festival so that she would perform her songs there. However, at the end of the 2.0 storyline, Pathfinder learns a terrible truth about the star's current state. Previously, insiders noted that she would be able to play the role of an attacking support in the squad. Her superpower, for example, increases the attack power of her allies, and she personally increases the chance of inflicting critical hits and ATK, plus she becomes immune to negative effects.
The Robin's signature weapon will be available in the weapon banner, but its name and characteristics are still unknown.
Second phase banners
In the second half of the patch (starts on May 29), you can get the following characters during Jumps:
- 5-star – Boothill (Hunt: Physical).
- 4-star – unknown yet.
Boothill has a rather positive and cheeky character. His goals are to rid the universe of evil and take revenge on the Interstellar World Corporation. It also turned out that the early leaks were correct, and the cyborg cowboy does not know how to swear, replacing curses with various cute addresses. Judging by his path, he will play the role of the main damage dealer in the squad.
Boothill's signature weapon will be available in the weapon banner, but its stats and passive ability are still unknown .
Changing the map
It is likely that the developers will continue to expand Penaconia, as new story quests related to this planet are expected to be released, and the additional test “Echoes of War” will appear, where it will be possible to obtain materials for the above-mentioned heroes. So you can expect at least one new area with different activities and chests to be added to the game.
New dungeons
Insiders also said that another one will appear in the game Cave of Corrosion, in which you can farm two new sets of relics intended for Robin and Boothill.
New missions
Exploration Missions
The miHoYo team intends to continue the Penaconia storyline, the main part of which should be completed in patch 2.2. In the new missions, players should be given answers to most of the questions they had when visiting the planet of celebrations.
Companion missions
Considering the appearance of a lot of new characters from Penaconia in the game, the developers will certainly add additional personal quests for the heroes. However, it is not yet known who exactly will receive them.

A Destiny insider notes that Sunday, one of the leaders of the Family, will be the next weekly boss . For the first time, you will have to fight him as part of a story mission. Then the corresponding “Echo of War” will appear at the new location.
Skins for characters
There have long been rumors on the Internet that in HoYoverse will begin adding new character skins in the near future. In this case, the first in line are March 7, Himeko and Welt.
