In Honkai: Star Rail, Just a Kid is a Serval-related companion mission. As part of it, you will have to complete the Echoes of the Permafrost challenge, where you will have to fight against a variety of enemies, including Ice and Fire from space. If you're having trouble accepting and completing this quest, check out our guide.
Just a Baby Companion Mission
How to start the quest
For In order to access this quest, you will first need to meet a couple of conditions, namely:
- Achieve at least level 32 of Mastery.
- Complete the previous chain mission called Time Express.
After completing the above requirements, wait for a message from the Cheetah (you just need to exit the workshop or teleport to another location), which will offer you to meet near the cable car in Nadmirye. Move to the Administrative District and go down one of the two stairs. Find brother and sister Landau there.
How to complete Echoes of Permafrost Challenge
Then head to Kamnegrad Clinic and talk to Oleg. Enter the hospital to meet Natasha. You will learn about the current relationship between the Silvermane Guardians and Wildfire. During the conversation, frightened residents will come running and report that fragmentum monsters have attacked the city.
Go outside and talk to Serval. Next, you will need to take on the passage of the test (a kind of dungeon), during which you will encounter several rather dangerous opponents. We advise you to take fire, physical and/or quantum damage, as many enemies here will be vulnerable to these elements.
Go deep into the battlefield looking for casualties along the way
In the exploration mode, you will not be able to use the general map, so you will only have to navigate using the mini-map. However, there will be no chests here, so you can just go straight ahead, following the quest markers. So, move forward and talk to the Cheetah. Then use the elevator to go down.
Below you will encounter the first enemies (spawn) – their vulnerabilities are shown in the screenshot below. Then start climbing up the slope, dealing with monsters along the way (their weaknesses are shown in the pictures below). Once up, talk to the panicking miners.
Next, you have to fight with the Fire from Space level 52. First of all, deal with ordinary mobs to minimize the damage taken. Then concentrate on the mini-boss. The team must have a healer or shielder to support allies.
Having dealt with the enemy, run further along the tunnel. There you will face level 51 Ice from Space, but it is not necessary to fight him. Just turn into the left cave and go forward. However, near the support anchor you will meet another Ice from space, the battle with which you will not be able to bypass.

Again, first deal with ordinary mobs to reduce the damage taken, and then concentrate all your attacks on the elite enemy. Having dealt with the opponents, listen to another dialogue between the Cheetah and the Serval.
Continue searching for the missing people
Next, approach the miner on the left side. He will tell you about a strong monster ahead. Before moving forward, we advise you to go back to the support anchor to heal. You will have a battle with the Shadow of the Devourer and two Phantom Weavers.
Deal with the weavers first, as they hit the area and almost always go first, which can seriously mess up your plans. Having dealt with them, concentrate all your strength on the guardian. Don't let her build up levels of Calibration Memory (break her tenacity) or she will deal massive area damage.
After the battle, Serval will ask you what the monster said at the end. You can choose any answer, as this will not affect the ending and rewards of the quest, but will only slightly change the girl's answer. As a result, you will complete the test.
Talk to Natasha and Serval
Go to the clinic and report to Natasha. Then interact with the rescued children. Exit the clinic and listen to Serval. At the end, return to Everwinter Hill where the girl will break her electric guitar.
This will complete the quest. As a reward, you will receive 350 exploration experience, 60 star jade, 25,000 credits, 200 shields, 5 condensed aether, a new melody, and a recipe for a Disposable Kinetic Cannon.
In addition, Serval and Cheetah can now visit the Star Express (after talking with them, you will receive 10 star jades each). Plus, you'll unlock the “Serval's Devotion: Autobiography” achievement.
