Passing the quest “Like a moth to a flame”
How to start the quest
- Location : Library Addition
- Pre-plot mission: “Welcome to Hogwarts”
This quest starts after talking with Leonora Everly, who can be found in the library annex. She stands against the wall near the black picture – it is about her that will be discussed in the first dialogue with the girl. Leonora has already figured out that the image in the frame is affected by the Lumos spell, but its effect is not yet clear, so further investigation is up to the player.
Reveal the secret of the painting
You already have the first clue: try using “Lumos” on the frame, and the darkness will recede, showing the image of a certain location. The statue in the corner may already be familiar to you, but even if you see this place for the first time, it will not be difficult to find it.
Find the place shown in the picture
Everything is very simple: from the hall with a black painting down to the exits two wide stairs lead, you need the far one (from the place where the task began). Just go down the steps and turn left into a nook with a very visible statue.
The Revelio spell allows you to learn more about the person who served as the prototype for the stone statue in the corner. Although not directly related to the current mission, curiosity is common to all Hogwarts students and often helps, including in solving various puzzles.
A moth sits in the place depicted on the canvas – it is the key to solving the riddle.
Return the moth to the painting
When you come closer, use the Lumos spell and, attracted by the light of the magic wand, the moth will follow you. It remains to run with him to the black picture without interrupting the spell, until you find yourself close to the canvas – here the insect can already be released. Simply complete the spell and your companion will fly into its designated spot on the frame. Don't forget to immediately pick up the “Manual” page that will remain in front of the painting after solving the puzzle.
Talk to Leonora Everly: What to choose in the dialogue
Eleanor is waiting for you on the balcony right above where the frame hung. Talking to her, you can either share the secret of the painting, or hide the clue. Choices in the dialogue do not have a significant impact on the plot, only providing an opportunity to diversify the roleplaying of your character.
Receiving a reward
After talking with the girl, the quest will end and you will receive a small amount of experience and a new item of clothing in your wardrobe – “Cobalt Gown”.
