Miasma in Genshin Impact are anomalous phenomena in the Chenyu Valley that make monsters stronger and more ferocious. By eliminating sources of miasma, you can receive valuable rewards. In the guide, we will look at all the places with miasma and figure out how to get rid of them and get the achievement “Tear the Veil of Darkness.”
How to get rid of miasma
You can recognize an area with miasma by the blue color of the soil and grass, as well as by a special twisted glowing tree.
< p>In each area you will have to defeat 2-3 waves of enemies. Each of them has a leader, who can be recognized by the blue glow above the enemy. After defeating the leader, you will need to eliminate the source of the miasma using the power of the Adepts.
Note that it is not necessary to eliminate all mobs – to find the source of the miasma, it is enough to get rid of the leader.
Where to find miasma
In total, 7 places with miasma can be found in the Chenyu Valley. You will encounter the first 3 pieces marked on the map as you progress through the main quest of this location. We will look at the rest in more detail, moving from north to south.
For eliminating each miasma (not counting the plot ones and the very last one) you will receive a precious chest.
Story items miasma
You will encounter these miasma in the quest “Ancient Sacrifice of the Sacred Comet”, a detailed walkthrough of which is described in a separate article. Here we will briefly describe the location of the miasma and the part of the quest in which you will encounter it.
Miasma 1
You will encounter the first miasma almost at the very beginning of the quest. It is located in a cave north of the Archon statue at the Chizhang Wall.
Miasma 2
You will find the second miasma in the Yaode Valley after solving the riddles with simulacra. For information about monsters and sources of miasma, see the paragraph in the article “Explore clues nearby.”
Miasma 3
The third miasma is located slightly south of the Chiwan Terrace teleporter. For more information about the enemies, see the section of the article entitled “Climb the sacred mountain and deal with the miasma.” Several more sources will have to be eliminated before the fight with Lin Yuan – they are in the same area, just north of the terrace.
Miasma 4
Go southeast of Lingmen Mountain. Here you will have to defeat 3 waves of enemies:
- In the first, the leader will be a large Hydro slime. Along with him there will be a lot of small Cryo slimes, so we recommend attacking from afar to avoid being frozen. The source of miasma after defeating the slime will be located near a small tree in the eastern part of the area.
- The next leader is the Geovishap cub, and Electro Tsitsin will appear with him. After defeating the Vishap, a source of miasma will appear in the western part of the area, closer to the mountain.
- The final boss in this area is Geovishap. Together with him, Cryo and Electro slimes will attack you. Destroy the last source in the tree on the south side of the road.
Miasma 5
From the statue of the Archons at the Chizhang Wall, fly to west.
- The leader of the first wave is a large Pyro slime, along with him small slimes of the same element will appear. The miasma source is located on the tree in the middle of the area.
- The final boss is the Xuanwen Beast. In addition to him, Anemo and Hydro slimes will appear in the area. The source of the miasma is on a tree closer to the road.
Miasma 6
Go east of the Chizhang Wall.< /p>
- The leader of the first wave is a mitachurl with an axe. Together with him, a group of hilichurls will attack you. The miasma source will appear on the tree next to the boxes.
- The main enemy of the second wave is Cryo Shamachurl. Rogue hilichurls will appear with him. Near them, after defeating the shamachurl, it will be possible to eliminate the source of miasma.
- The final enemy is  Lavachurl with a stone shell, as well as mitachurls. We advise you to take a good shieldman into your team, because monsters can throw you quite far. Because of this, you can fall off a cliff, and after you return, the monsters will completely restore your HP. Near the cliff, next to the wooden platform, destroy the source of miasma.
Miasma 7
Head west of Xuanlian Mountain.
- The leader of the first wave is mitachurl. His assistants are various hilichurls. A source of miasma will appear on a tree in the middle of the area.
- The leader of the second wave is dendro shamachurl. Mitachurls will appear along with him. The source of the miasma is in the same place as the previous one.
- The final enemy is a Lavacurl with a frosty shell. He will be accompanied by ordinary hilichurls. As in the previous area, we recommend using a shield warrior or a hero with a Pyro/Electro element to quickly destroy the boss’s shield. A tree with a source of miasma will appear in the western part of the area.
Having eliminated the last miasma in the valley, you will receive a luxurious chest and the “Tear the Veil of Darkness” achievement.
