How to start the Opening of the Festival quest
If your account meets the criteria below, you will find the starting quest in your quest log after you re-enter the game world.
- Achieve at least Adventure Rank 30. In a separate article, we gave tips on increasing this parameter.
- Complete the Archon quest called “The Approach of a New Star”.
- Complete the Archon quest called “Inversion of Being” (optional).< /li>
- Complete the Legends of al-Haytham quest “Deception of the Crowd”, which is the first chapter of the “Falcon” chain (optional).
If only the required criteria are met, it is permissible to start the task from the event window by selecting the quick start option. As a result, the same quest will start, although in this case some of the context may not be clear to you, and individual characters may meet for the first time, all due to the fact that the story arcs leading up to the event were omitted.
Walkthrough of the “Opening of the Festival” quest
Go to the main hall of the academy and ask about the festival
The player will be sent to the Academy by Paimon, who somehow found out about the festival starting in Sumeru. Go upstairs to the main hall of the educational institution, where you will meet with the organizers of the event. Having become more familiar with the traditions of this holiday, the traveler will also receive an invitation to join the event as an observer.
Go to the main site of the Academy Festival
After talking with Vikas, get out and go down to the festival site to meet its hosts and participants. Just get closer to the scenery and watch the cut-scene, in which the traveler will already be able to suspect some mysterious background that accompanies the beginning of the holiday.
Find out from the darshan representatives the reasons for their participation in the tournament
After an introductory speech from the stage, the participants will be divided into several groups. You need to talk to them, discussing the motives for their participation and the chances of winning, but of course, the conversation with the lone Wanderer is of particular interest.
Talk to the host
After talking with the participants, go down the stairs, where Karina, the host of the festival, will be waiting for you. As soon as you are nearby, a dialogue will start, during which you will receive a special camera and a locator, necessary for further festival events.
Go to the observers' stand
Return to the stage where two other observers will be waiting in the observer area. Their functions will be slightly different from yours, so the traveler will have to track the progress of the competitors and capture them on camera. The review team will announce the first challenge and the competition will begin.
Search for Saino
Thanks to the locator, you can track the location of the participants in the competition. First you need to find Sayno, so just open the map and find the icon with his image. It can also be put on tracking, which will simplify your task at times. Now all that remains is to use the nearest teleporter and get closer to the target.
Follow Kaveh and Faruzan
The participants confer, drawing you even deeper into the intricacies of their plans to capture butterflies, which must be continued in the far part of the town. Just follow a couple of conspirators until you reach a crowd of people on the road.
Find out what held up the butterflies
Approaching the crowd of onlookers, find out what attracted the butterflies more than the bait of Kaveha and Faruzan. However, there were no extra prize specimens among those that flocked to Tignari's incense, so the participants disperse to try their luck each in their own way.

Talk to Daehya and Kandakia

Return to the main site
The girls will give the last prize insect to Laila, which means that you can go to the main festival site to sum up the results of the first competition. The eastern city teleporter and glider wings will get you there in no time.

The introductory part of the festival ends with a friendly squabble between old acquaintances and another failure of Kaveh. The player is offered to communicate with the sponsor of the festive events. Dory is standing near the northern city teleporter and in the last cut-scene of the task she promises to lift the veil of secrecy over the suspicious events that seem to invisibly accompany the holiday.
Quest rewards
After the conversation Dory will complete the quest and reward you with 30 Source Stones and slightly less useful generic prizes. In addition, festival kiosks will open, available from the event menu and in the quest log as temporary side quests.
Also, completing the festival's introductory quest will unlock the additional quest “The Event of Twenty Years Ago” and the second chapter of Triumph of the Mind. “Beginning and End”, which will open on April 29.
