In Genshin Impact, Sea Patrol is one of the mini-games of the main event of patch 3.4 “Night Harmony of the Strings”. During it, you have to swim various routes for a certain period of time, solving small puzzles, bypassing obstacles and collecting coins. In this guide, we will tell you how to complete all the challenges.

How to start the Sea Patrol challenge
The first step is, of course, to complete the starting task of the event called “A Thousand Miles Following the Mysterious Melody”. After that, open the event menu, select the required challenge, and then click on the “To the task” inscription to take on the completion of the starting mission of the same name.
You will need to transfer to the Southern Cross: Alcor ship, which is located next to the Guyun Stone Forest. If you haven't unlocked this ship yet, then glide onto it from the mountain located near the Guyun Domain dungeon.
Once on board the ship, chat with Navigator Hui Xing and tell her that you want to participate in sea patrol. On this task will come to an end, and you will receive 10 thousand pestilence and 4 adventurer experience. Then be sure to read the instructions that appear.
The main features of the “Sea Patrol”
Modes
You can choose one of two game modes: Stormy waves (co-op) or Quiet water (single). The first one differs from the second one by the presence of other players on the route and the presence of a common score counter. In addition, it is almost impossible to lose in cooperative mode, since even if your boat is destroyed, you will simply become an observer.
Milestones and Limits
They are chosen randomly and you can get one of three challenges:
- Crossing the stormy waves – here you need to swim from one checkpoint to another, avoiding the whirlpools and collecting coins.
- Floating Lantern Mystery – On this route you will have to choose the right sky lanterns while watching the fireworks. This way you will receive double coins (super coins).
- Secrets of Aeronautics – here you have to follow the balloons that will drop bombs or super coins. Pick up the latter and beware of the former.
We add that with each new stage of the event, these routes will not change – instead, the limit of points that you can score will begin to increase. First it will be 2000 points, then 3000 and so on. You won't be able to score the maximum points at once, so don't be afraid to play this mini-game several times.
Techniques
As part of the challenge, you will be able to use special abilities (shown in the screenshot below) , which can greatly simplify the collection of coins. However, they will not be available to you from the very beginning of the race – for this you first need to collect lampophoria, which look like red and yellow diamonds with a question mark inside.
Picking up a similar item will give you a random vehicle. To use it, press the elemental skill button (key “E” on PC). In the following, we will take a quick look at each stage separately, giving tips on how to complete it.
Secrets of Ballooning
There is no sea track in this challenge – there are only a few balloons that you have to follow, picking up along the path of the coin and dodging falling bombs.
Collect coins and destroy crates
Immediately after the challenge begins, try to collect the coins that will already be on the water as soon as possible. Also destroy the floating boxes with the ship's cannon (LMB) so that super coins appear in their place. This must be done quickly, as the area will change soon.
Collect lampophorias and use techniques
Whenever possible, match yellow diamonds to get random techniques. In the heat of the race, it can be difficult to choose the right ability you need right now, so simply activate them as soon as you get it.
Swim after the balloons
The balloons will constantly drop various cargo into the water, so we recommend that you follow them to get super coins (yellow appears on the water circle). If you see that the circle is red, then stay away from it, as the balloon will drop a bomb in this place.
Watch out for whirlpools, barrels, and weather changes
Do not accelerate too fast, as the water will be full of whirlpools and explosive barrels that can destroy your ship. In addition, sometimes thick fog can descend on the playing field – at such moments it is necessary to move especially carefully. If your ship is destroyed in solo mode, the challenge will end prematurely.
Flashlight Floating Puzzle
This challenge also lacks the usual sea track. You will enter the arena, which at first will be filled with coins and moving decorations that must be knocked down to get more coins. Collect all these treasures as quickly as possible.
After that, fireworks in the form of various figures will begin to sparkle in the sky – remember them. Further on the arena there will be paper lanterns with symbols. You will need to shoot down only those of them that have the same sign that was previously seen in the sky. For example, if you see fireworks in the shape of a heart, then shoot down lanterns with hearts only.
This way you will receive coins. If you collide with a paper lantern with a different symbol, then the wavewalker will take damage. Of course, don't forget to collect lampophoria to obtain various techniques.
Crossing the Stormy Waves
Here you will find a classic time trial. You will need to navigate the route of the coins, avoiding various obstacles, including explosive barrels and whirlpools. Don't swim too fast, otherwise you will definitely fall into a trap, which will quickly lead to the destruction of your ship.
On straight sections, be sure to use the boost to get to the places with coins faster. Note that treasures will disappear all the time, so if you don't swim to the right point, you won't be able to pick up the coins that are there.
Again, don't forget to collect lampophoria and use techniques that will help you reduce damage or pick up coins faster. Try to destroy barrels from a distance so as not to accidentally run into them.
