Tablets in Genshin Impact: where to find in the Sumeru Desert (map)

In Genshin Impact, the tablets are a kind of “keys” necessary to activate the primordial obelisks and receive valuable rewards. You can find these consumable items in various parts of the Sumeru Desert. In this guide, we will show the location of the tablets on an interactive map and explain in detail how to get them.

Preparing to collect the tablets

Quests

Before embarking on the search for these stone tablets, you should definitely go through the following tasks and chains:

• The “Golden Dreamland.
• Ancient Language, New Knowledge Mission Line
• Afratu's Dilemma World Quest

These quests will give you access to locations where some of the tablets are hidden, and will give you the right level of special Power to interact with the plinths of the secret rites. During the passage of quests, we do not advise you to pick up the plates, otherwise you will later forget where you have already taken them and where you have not. However, you can simply mark the collected tablets on our interactive map below.

Types of tablets

It should be noted that there are 17 types of ancient plates, which differ from each other by the symbol on the front side and the name. Primordial Obelisks may require specific types of Tablets to unlock. The table below shows each variety.

However , you don't have to worry about the types of the tablets, as you end up having to collect them all anyway – just follow the route we've provided below.

Where to find the tablets in the Sumeru desert

In total, you can find 60 ancient tablets, which are shown on the interactive map below. On it you can mark already collected slabs (progress is saved by the browser) and find out detailed information about their production by clicking on the “How to get” button.

Tablet: Thunderclap (1)

• Location: Hajj Nisut

Lies on the rubble northwest of the teleportation point. The exact location is shown in the screenshots below.

Tablet: Ritual (2)

• Location: Hajj Nisut

Head west from the previous slab and enter the temple. Climb a little up the stairs, and to the right of the pedestal of secret rites you will find the desired tablet. You don't need to complete any tasks to enter this area.

Tablet: Valley (3)

• Location: Hajj Nisut

Obtained from the quest “Dreams Under the Burning Sands”. If you forgot to pick it up, then move to the western teleporter, run to the destroyed bridge ahead and jump from it to the lower level. Turn around and enter the ruins.

Go to the spacious hall, turn right and jump down into the airflow hole. Turn left twice and then right once and drop down the hole. Go through the passage on the right side, which was previously guarded by the structure, and immediately turn left. You will find yourself in a spacious hall with a statue of a jackal, next to which lies the slab you need.

Tablet: Ruler's Authority (4)

• Location: Haj Nisut

It can be found west of the teleportation point, in the ruins. The tablet is protected by pristine structures.

Tablet: Crocodile Head (5)

• Location: Hajj Nisut

It is located on the surface near the primordial obelisk. Glide north and down from the teleportation point to find the slab.

Tablet: Valley (6)

• Location: Hajj Nisut

Obtained from the quest “Dreams Under the Burning Sands”. The slab is located in the southern ruins. Enter the temple, turn right and drop down the airflow hole. Right below you will find a stone tablet.

Tablet: Sheep's Head (7)

• Location: Between Abju Pit and Dar al-Shifa

Lost in the Sands mission. Move to the teleport near the pit, and then run to the entrance to the ruins. Upon entering, immediately turn slightly to the right and you will see a slab at the foot of the stairs.

Tablet: Bird's Head (8)

• Location: between Abju Pit and Dar al-Shifa

You can find her during the Lost in the Sands quest. From the 7th tablet, run into the passage ahead, and then turn right and go up the stairs. Turn left and go past the fire traps. Turn right and enter a spacious hall with two statues of jackals.

Go past the statues, climb up and go to the far left corner where the Dendroculus hangs. Stand on the lift plate and activate it to go down. In the room with torches, turn left into the passage and run along the corridor forward. Then turn left in the room with the pedestal and call the elevator by pressing the blue button.

Climb to the top tier and use the third elevator on the opposite side to go down. Run through the corridor, call the lift by clicking on the blue button, and go up again. Move through the corridor until you reach a spacious room with drawings on the wall.

Use the last elevator to go down again. You will find yourself in a small room with a fresco, next to which lies a stove.

Tablet: Valley (9)

• Location: between Abju Pit and Dar al-Shifa

You can find it during the quest “Lost in the Sands”. As in the case of the previous tablet, first reach the room with two jackal statues and use the elevator in the far left corner to go down. After going down, go left, go down the corridor and turn right in the room with the pedestal.

Go down the stairs and you will see a slab on the right side near the “house” for the fairy.

Tablet: Ruler's Authority (10)

• Location: between Abju's pit and Dar al-Shifa

Also found in Lost in the Sands. From the location of the 11th tablet, turn left and open the door by pressing the blue button on the wall. Go through the passage and turn left. You will find yourself in a spacious area with a primordial obelisk, to the left of which an ancient slab will lie.

Tablet: Valley (11)

• Location: between Abju Pit and Dar al-Shifa

It can also be obtained during the quest “Lost in the Sands”. As in the case of the 8th tablet, first reach the room with the statues of two jackals, and then take the elevator down and take the second elevator up. Once in a spacious room with braziers, go down the ladder on the opposite side.

At the end, destroy the red boulders with any attacks. Go further, turn left and call the elevator – take it up. Once at the top, climb the steps and immediately turn left. You will see a slab next to the plinth for the fairy.

Tablet: Giant Serpent (12)

• Location: Between the Abju Pit and Dar al-Shifa

It can be obtained during the Lost in the Sands quest. From the place where you found the 9th tablet, go forward a little and turn right. Turn right again, go up the stairs and use the elevator.

Climbing up, go through the passage opened by the pedestal. Turn right and go down the stairs. You will enter a wide corridor with fire traps. Go through it and up the stairs. Run forward past the jackal statue on the right into the fresco room. Then turn right and find the slab on the ground.

Tablet: Ruler's Authority (13)

• Location: Dahri Valley (west)

It can be found near the oasis southwest of the teleportation point. The slab lies near the boxes in an open area.





Tablet: Crocodile Head (14)

• Location: Dahri Valley (west)

You will be able to get to the desired location when completing the Hidden Mercenaries world quest. Get to the point shown in the screenshots below. There will be an entrance to the treasury of the hermits. Go inside, go down through the tunnel and turn right. Here you will find a pristine obelisk and a tablet to its right.











Tablet: Valley (15)

• Location: Dahri Valley (West)

It can be found right in front of the Jackal Statue, west of the Statue of the Seven Archons.





Tablet: Dune (16)

• Location: Dahri Valley (west)

From the obelisk where you found the 14th tablet, exit through the huge passage and turn right. Go down the tunnel and turn left at the fork. You will be taken to the second desert treasury.

Here, follow the main path and start climbing up the tunnel. Then jump down the hole. Continue moving deeper into the cave and soon you will see a slab on the ground.









Tablet: Valley (17)

• Location: Dahri Valley (west)

Go all the way to find the 16th tablet to the second treasury of the hermits. Now, instead of going forward, turn left and climb up the ledge. There you will find a stone tablet.







Tablet: Rolling Thunder (18)< /h3>

• Location: Dahri Valley (West)

From the previous tablet, move to the hut on the opposite side and blow up the jugs of oil to destroy the cobblestone and open a new passage. Right next to the entrance you will find a stove.

Tablet: Rolling Thunder ( 19)

• Location: Feast Dune

You can get it when you complete the Desert Memories quest. In it, we explained in detail how to solve the puzzle in the temple in order to get to the upper floor, where the ancient tablet lies.





Tablet: Valley (20)

• Location: Feast Dune (West)

From the rock, head west and you'll soon encounter treasure thieves guarding an ancient slab.





Tablet: Mallet (21)

• Location: Feast Dune (west)

Located to the west of the Garden of Endless Pillars dungeon. You don't have to open the dungeon to get this slab.





Tablet: Rolling Thunder (22)< /h3>

• Location: Feast Dune (west)

Before you start looking for this slab, make sure you have a high enough level of special Power. Move to the teleport shown in the screenshots below and immediately jump down the cliff. There you will find the entrance to the ruins.









Enter the wide corridor, take the primordial luminary and place it on the platform to create a candlestick with a spark. Unblock it and bring it to the torch at the end of the corridor, cutting down the air currents along the way. As a result, you will receive a regular chest and will be able to fly up to the upper level.





Pick up the primordial light again, go upstairs and stand on the platform so that a cage appears – touch it to open a hole in the wall. Use another stream of air, grab the blue triangle and jump down the hole. There, stand on the next platform and activate the cage.







A new air stream will appear. Get to the upper tier and go into a spacious hall with columns. Start the challenge in the center of the room – you will need to collect 40 Dendro Particles in 5 minutes. It is relatively easy to do this, since they are all in the same room. When you go upstairs, put the light on the platform and touch the cell to show the walls.





At the end, go up to the third floor. For completing the challenge, you will receive a precious chest. An elevator will also come down to you – sit on it and get to the very top. There, interact with the pedestal to activate the device and water will appear in the oasis. To the left of the mechanism you will find a stove.









Tablet: Crocodile Head (23)

• Location: Feast Dune (west)

Obtained from The Secret of Al-Ahmar. Move to the teleportation point shown in the screenshots below. Then immediately turn around and run into the hole on the left side.









Use the four-leafed glyphs to fly across the gap and run to Camp Fatui ahead. Next to it, turn into an inconspicuous passage on the right. Ahead, you will immediately see an ancient tablet.







Tablet: Valley (24)

• Location: Feast Dune (West)

Can be found south of the obelisk on the ground. Just go around the blue barrier and pick up the ancient slab.





Tablet: Sunrise (25)

• Location: Tomb of King Deshret (North)

Obtained from the world quest “The Secret of al-Ahmar”. Travel to the same teleport as when looking for the 23rd tablet. Then jump down and fly towards the tent below. In it you will find the desired item.







Tablet: Danger (26)

• Location: Tomb of King Deshret (North)

Obtained from the world quest “The Secret of al-Ahmar”. Move to the same teleport as when you found the last tablet. Then use the four leaf symbols to fly over to the other side. The slab lies in the collapsed part of the fence.







Tablet: Valley (27)

• Location: Tomb of King Deshret (North)

Obtained from the world quest “The Secret of al-Ahmar”. Move to the same teleport as when you found the last tablet, and jump down. Head into the ruins ahead and immediately turn right. In the corridor you will find a stone tablet.









Tablet: Ruler's Authority (28)< /h3>

• Location: Tomb of King Deshret (North)

Move to the teleporter in the southwestern part of the tomb and go through the passage with the pedestal. Enter the cave and fly to the right tunnel. Then go to the new tunnel. At the fork, turn left and go down into the ruins.













Once in a semi-flooded room, turn right and open the door using the pedestal. You will enter a room with a blue barrier behind which there is a sign. To remove it, you need to go back a little and open another door with a pedestal. Understand the construction and pick up the primordial star.





Go back to the room with the blue barrier and stand on the illuminated platform for a cage with a beam that will remove the barrier. You can now enter the room and retrieve the slab.





Tablet: Thunder Claps (29)

• Location: Tomb of King Deshret (North)

Move to the same teleport as when searching for the 27th tablet, and then turn around and go into the left passage. Use the 4-leaf symbols to fly over the ravine and move up the underground tunnel without turning anywhere. When you reach the cliff, jump down. At the bottom, you will immediately notice a slab surrounded by red stones.











Tablet: Valley (30)

• Location: Tomb of King Deshret (West)

Found during the mission “Introduction to Armchair Archeology”. From the 28th tablet, turn around and exit into the room with the cage, and then turn left. Turn right in the semi-flooded room. Move through the tunnel and exit into a spacious cave.









Turn left and start climbing up the slope. After reaching the cliff, jump down to the building, on the roof of which elemental monuments are installed. After landing, enter the building and immediately turn right – you will see a slab among the rubble.







Tablet: Sandstorm (31)< /h3>

• Location: Tomb of King Deshret (West)

After receiving the 32nd tablet, go up the slope and near the passage you will see an ancient slab.







Tablet: Forest (32)

• Location: Tomb of King Deshret (West)

After obtaining the 33rd tablet, use the air current and wind rings to climb up. Then fly over to the ledge ahead with the 4-leaf symbols. There you will find the Fatui camp, near which lies a stone tablet.









Tablet: Ear (33)< /h3>

• Location: Tomb of King Deshret (West)

From the 30th tablet, exit the building and fly to the ruins ahead. Climb up with the four leaf symbols and enter the underground tunnel. Soon you will find yourself in a spacious cave with a tree. Fly left to the passage and go up a bit.









You will enter a room with an amazing chest, totems and an air current – you can pick up an ancient slab to the left of it.

Tablet: Bird's Head (34)

• Location: Tomb of King Deshret (West)

Lies in an open area to the right of the tomb. The sign is leaning against a broken wall.





Tablet: Thunder Claps (35)

• Location: Tomb of King Deshret (West)

Move to the southwest teleport of the tomb, turn around and go through the passage. Once in a spacious cave, fly to the slope ahead and climb it up to the entrance to the ruins. After going inside, run forward and you will see a slab near the tables with scrolls.















Tablet : Crocodile head (36)

• Location: King Deshret's Tomb

Obtained from The Secret of Al-Ahmar. Move to the teleport shown in the screenshots below. Then immediately drop down into the cave and reach the entrance to the ruins ahead.









After entering, go up the stairs, go into the room and turn left. Climb up the stairs again. Stop at the flight of stairs and turn left into a spacious hall. Then turn left again into the room with cells and prisms. Go to the right passage and you will find a slab.











Tablet: Ritual (37)

• Location: Tomb of King Deshret

Move to the eastern teleport of the indicated location and enter the temple through the main entrance. Go around the hole on the floor, enter the room with two primordial torches and turn right. In the new room, go forward and turn the corner to the right. At the dead end, you will find an ancient slab.













Tablet: Sheep's Head (38)

• Location: Tomb of King Deshret

Available from the quest The Secret of Al-Ahmar. From the 37th tablet, return to the room with the blue barrier and turn left. Move forward along the corridor to the very end and use the 4-leaf symbol to go upstairs. On the right, you will immediately find a stone tablet.









Tablet: Crocodile Head (39)< /h3>

• Location: Tomb of King Deshret

Move to the teleport shown in the screenshots below. Turn around and enter the Duat Hall on the right side. Fly to the triangular entrance on the other side. Once inside, approach the device in the center to move up.











Further, run to the central pillar you can see ahead. Climb up the ledge and you'll find an ancient tablet at the foot of the monument.





Tablet: Giant Serpent (40)

• Location: Tomb of King Deshret

As in the case of the 37th tablet, reach the room with two primordial torches, but now go up the stairs and press the blue button to call the elevator. After climbing to the upper tier, turn left and click on the pedestal to remove the blue barrier, behind which lies the stone tablet.











Tablet: Valley (41)

• Location: Tomb of King Deshret

Obtainable from the quest “The Secret of Al-Ahmar”. As in the case of the 40th tablet, reach the room with two primordial torches, but now turn into the left passage. Go through the corridor to the very end and turn right.







Run forward again to the very end and stand on the illuminated area. It will flash and then simply disappear. You will fall into a small hole where you can find a new ancient slab.







Tablet: Valley (42)

• Location: Tomb of King Deshret

As in the case of the 41-tablet, reach the corridor with the laser beam, but now turn left. After entering the room with the airflow on the wall, approach the plinth in front and cut off the vortex, then jump into the hole.









At the bottom, run down the corridor and at the end you will find an ancient tablet lying on the rubble.



Tablet: Raised Hand (43)

• Location: Tomb of King Deshret

Can be obtained by researching the Breathing Place in the Double Proof quest. Move to the teleport shown in the screenshots below and enter the Hall of Sechem. Then lower the water, solving a small puzzle with monuments, and go down to the very bottom of the room. In the corner near the wall you will find an ancient slab.







Tablet: Valley (44)

• Location: Tomb of King Deshret (East)

Can be obtained by researching the Breathing Place in the Double Proof quest. Enter the Hall of Sechem again, but this time fly into the passage on the middle tier on the other side (shown in the picture below). Once you enter the cave, immediately turn right and drop down into the hole next to the four leaf symbol.









Run forward and you will see a tent and one Fatui agent. Deal with the enemy, and then pick up the stone tablet.

Tablet: Thunder Claps (45)

• Location: Tomb of King Deshret (East)

It lies on the surface, not far from the ruins. Nearby you can also pick up a dendroculus.





Tablet: Forest (46)

• Location: Tomb of King Deshret (East)

Can be obtained by researching the Breathing Spot. Go to Sechem Hall again and glide into the passageway on the right side. Once you enter the new room, turn left and go through the triangular entrance ahead.







Next immediately turn left and you will you will see a blue barrier, behind which lies a stone tablet. To remove the barrier, you need to interact with the plinth of secret rites (requires high special power).





Tablet: Sunrise (47)

• Location: Tomb of King Deshret (East)

Can be obtained by researching the Breathing Spot. Move to the teleport shown in the screenshots below and go through the triangular passage ahead. Once in a spacious room with pristine torches, continue running forward, up the stairs and into the elevator.









Take the elevator down to the lower level. Exit the lift and turn right. At the foot of the column you will find an ancient tablet.



Tablet: Valley (48)

< li>Location: Temple of Hemenu (West)

Travel to the same teleport as when looking for the last tablet, but then immediately turn into the right passage. In the corridor, jump into the hole, and then just run forward until you find yourself in a new room. This is where the ancient slab lies.









Tablet: Thunder Claps (49)

• Location: Hemenu Temple

Go to the location shown in the screenshots below (on the surface) and enter the temple ruins through the opening on the “roof”. Once inside, go through the right triangular passage.









In the new hall, turn left and use the pedestal to open the door. Enter the new room and deal with the robot. Then pick up the stone tablet on the left side of the room.





Tablet: Raised Hand (50)< /h3>

• Location: Temple of Hemenu

It can be found on the surface at the location shown in the pictures below. She lies on the rubble.





Tablet: Dune (51)

• Location: Sobek oasis (west)

It is also located on the surface, so just get to the place shown in the screenshots below. The slab is protected by a pristine design.





Tablet: Valley (52)

• Location: Dune of Subterfuge (North)

Travel to the teleport shown in the screenshots below, turn around and start going down. After leaving the spacious cave, start climbing the scaffolding on the left side. On the second wooden platform you will find a slab lying near the crates.











Tablet: Labor (53)

• Location: Dune of Subterfuge (North)

Travel to the teleport shown in the pictures below and run into the triangular entrance ahead. Once inside, turn right, go up the stairs, turn left and climb the steps even higher. Once in the new room, turn left and look for a sign near the wreckage.













Tablet: Thunderclap (54)

• Location: Magma Dune (North)

Teleport to the location below, turn around and run towards the ledge on the left side. Near the cage you will find a stone tablet.









Tablet: Ritual (55)

• Location: Magma Dune (North)

Travel to the same teleporter you used to find the previous tablet, then run into the cave to the west. Go down a little and next to the huge mushrooms you will find an ancient slab.







Tablet: Valley (56)

• Location: Magma Dune (North)

Travel to the same teleporter you used to find the previous tablet, then back to the triangular entrance and glide down towards the hourglass. To the left of them will be an ancient tablet.







Tablet: Raised Hand (57)

• Location: Magma Dune

Teleport to a fast travel point near the indicated location and enter the temple. Once inside, immediately turn left and go down the stairs. Go through the airflow slab and pick up the slab leaning against the wall.











Tablet: Valley (58)

• Location: Magma Dune

As with the search for the previous tablet, enter the temple, but in the room with two primordial torches, go ahead and jump down the hole. After descending, go to the root of the tree and drop down into the second hole.









After gliding down to a small pool, go to the roots of the tree and take the stone tablet. Molds will guard it.

Tablet: Sheep's Head (59)

• Location: Dune of Subterfuge

Turn from tablet 60 to the left and jump down the cliff. Plan to the red challenge mark on the right side – interact with it. You will need to blow up 10 barrels in half a minute. To do this, use some kind of area-of-effect ability.









As a result, you will receive a regular chest and open a break in the ground, in which the ancient slab will lie.



Tablet: Giant Serpent (60)

• Location: Dune of Subterfuge

From the 52nd Tablet, climb onto the crates and drop down the slope to the right. Walk along the cliff and soon you will see a stone tablet ahead.







How to use skrizhali in Genshin Impact



We have already noted above that these items are necessary to activate Primordial Obelisks. Turning them on also allows you to get precious chests. In total, you can find 10 such objects, that is, each of them requires 6 ancient plates to unlock. In a separate guide, we told you where to find them.
