In Genshin Impact, the Trial of Courage is the first story mission of the Akitsu Kimodameshi event, in which players will have to participate in a kind of test on courage by completing the first round. In this guide, we will tell you how to start this quest and what you need to do to complete it.

How to start the quest
Before you can take on this mission, you must meet several conditions, namely:
- Achieve at least Adventure Rank 30. In a separate article, we gave some tips on how to increase it.
- Complete the mission “Escape from the island of Rito”, which is part of the Archon quest “The Unchanging God and Eternal Utopia”.
- Complete the quest Legends of Arataka Itto “Golden Soul Oni”, which is the first chapter of his “Heavenly Bull” quest chain (optional).
If you haven't completed Itto's personal quest and don't plan to complete it yet, you can start the event using the “Quick Start” option, which presented in the event menu. Then just click on the “Go to Quest” button.
Go to Yashiro's office and talk to Ayato
Travel to the Kamisato Estate located on Narukami Island (Inazuma) and chat with Ayato there, who will be pointed to by the quest marker. You will learn from him about the upcoming test of courage. You will need to be the first to complete 3 rounds to receive the main prize.

After the conversation, leave Yashiro's commission. As soon as you leave the estate, you will immediately meet Arataki Itto, who also wants to take part in this exciting event. In the distance, we can also spot Detective Heizo.
So, go to the marked area on the map, located in the Tinju Forest near your current location, so using the teleport is not necessary – just run down the path. Talk to Itto again, and then talk to the priestess standing nearby. She will say that you need to find yourself a partner.
How to choose a partner from three participants
You can choose one of the following characters as your companion: Ayaka (costs a little below if you follow the path), Kazuhu (standing on a hill on the right side) and Goro (located on the left).
You can choose any hero depending from your own preferences, since this will not affect the ending of the quest or the gameplay – only a few dialogues. Approach the selected character and chat with him.
How to complete the first round and find dango milk
After choosing a partner, talk to the priestess again. You will need to find dango milk in the marked area. To do this, follow the direction indicated by the arrow plates. Run down the stone stairs first.
After going down, you will find yourself at a fork. Turn left, go past the fox statue and climb up the stone steps. After climbing up, turn right and you will finally find a box with a drink. Watch the new cut-scene where the heroes meet Shogun Raiden.
Help Itto and follow the fugitives
After talking with Ei, return to the Test of Courage location and chat with Itto. He will want to scare the next members. You will agree to help him by hiding behind the tree the marker points to.
Watch another cut-scene, then run after the runaway children. In the marked place you will encounter a mysterious stranger. A new video will start. Because of the girl, you will fall asleep, and Heizo will wake you up. Talk to him – this task will come to an end. As a reward, you will receive 30 Source Stones, 20,000 Pestilence, 2 Hero XP, and 4 Enchantment Magic Ores.
In addition, you will have access to the first stage of the Akitsu Kimodameshi Trials. Note that access to the next story quest “Ghost Stories” will open on December 17, 2022.
