How to start the Science of Light and Shadow: Fountain of Enchantment event
The event starts on September 14, 2023 at 10 :00 server time, and will end on the 25th of the same month. To take part in it, you will need to meet a couple of conditions, namely:
- Reach at least adventure rank 20.
- Get to Fontaine and unlock any from the Hydro Archon statues in this region.
Having dealt with the specified conditions, you should automatically receive the starting mission of the event. If this does not happen, then go to the event page and click on the “Go to task” button.
Completing the quest “The Science of Light and Shadow: Fountain of Enchantment”
You will need to talk to a certain Bresson, located outside the city, near the water. He will give you a special camera after the conversation. As a reward for completing the task, you will receive 10,000 mora and 4 adventurer experience.
Event Tips
After the event starts, every day you will receive a new task to compile a photo report . There will be six stages in total with six types of goals. You will need to look for various objects and phenomena that will be captured using the resulting camera.

You can go to the places pointed out by Bresson, or try to find the things you need for shooting yourself. If the required object is in the frame, a corresponding prompt will appear on the screen. Adjust the zoom correctly to take a photo.
First stage
On this day you will need to capture three different types of xenochrome creatures that live in Fontaine. Their general location is indicated on the map below.
Xenochrome Sharpray
Go to the western fast travel point, located in the west of the Salos Sea Plateau . Right above it, next to the usual sharp ray, the xenochrome sea inhabitant you need will also frolic.

Xenochrome Armored Crab
Use the teleporter in the center of the Plateau. Next to him, a xenochrome armored crab is circling near underwater plants.

Xenochrome plump
The last creature hid in the south of the Talat underwater valley. From the teleporter, turn east towards the ancient ruins. Right in front of them you will see the xenochrome plumps you need.

Second Stage
In this stage, your task will be to photograph four different types of meks. To do this, you will have to visit only two locations. They are indicated in the image below. If you do not get close to the mobs, they will not attack you, and shooting will remain completely safe.
Shooting Location 1
On the Western slope of Mon Atoneki, go towards the coast. There, next to the treasure thief, two meks will walk: Quick Gathering and Geological Exploration. Take a photo of each of them in turn.

Shooting location 2
This time, go north of Elinas. On the path west of the fast travel point you will see two robots. Mek: Intelligence Protocol is sitting right in front of the teleporter. Spetsmek: Assault roams higher up the hill.

Third stage
This time your task will be to capture three dogs of special breeds that can only be found in Fontaine. On the map below you will see the locations where they are found.
Place for shooting 1
Go southeast of Cours de Fontaine. On the same level as the Adventurer's Guild and both nearby teleporters, opposite Tiori's fashion house, you will see two dogs. Take photos of Monsieur and Madame poodles one by one.

Go to the Lucin Fountain. Behind him, at the foot of the stairs leading to the Epicles Theater, next to the gendarme you will find the Poodle Guard.
