In Dragon's Dogma 2, the Stolen Throne is a story mission during which you have to find a courtier's tunic and trousers, sneak into a masquerade in the castle and quietly approach the false Lord. How to start the quest
First of all, you will need to complete one of Brant’s orders, which he gives you during the first conversation in the tavern: “Cleansing up monsters,” “Disa’s Intrigue,” or “Prisoned Lawyer.” Then chat with him again at the inn at night and select the answer “Tell about the masquerade” to receive the quest and mask.
Where to find a formal suit (tunic and courtier's pants)
Please note that it is not necessary to find an outfit – you will be allowed into the masquerade ball even if you only have a mask. However, once you obtain the full set, you will be able to unlock the “Noble Party” achievement, for this reason we will tell you where you can find it.
The easiest, but at the same time the most expensive way is to buy a courtier's tunic and trousers in Filbert's Thousand Little Things for more than 300 thousand gold. However, at this stage of the game you are unlikely to have that amount of money, but even if you do, we do not recommend spending it, since you can get these clothes without any problems.
For example, you will receive it completely free of charge after completing the side quest “The Painted Box” , if you did not hand over Sven when the guard Norman was looking for him.
You can find items of clothing in the nobles' quarter. Go to the Inspector's House shown in the pictures below and enter it (don't worry, the guards won't arrest you for this). Then go up to the second floor and take the first door on the right to enter the bedroom. Here, next to the bed, you will find a courtier's tunic. There are most likely pants in the second bedroom.
If you could not find both items of clothing in the marked house, then head to the estate Allarda, located a little to the west, on a hill. Once you enter the building, go up the stairs and go through the first door on the left. Once in the office, turn the camera to the left and next to the window you will see a courtier's frock coat and pants.
Let's add that sets of things can also be found in Vernworth Castle, in Sven's room or guest quarters. However, ordinary people are not allowed to be here, so if you are caught, you can be put behind bars.
How to get to the masquerade
Having obtained all the necessary things, put them on your character. Then head to Wernworth Castle, located in the southern part of the city. If it is daytime, then you will first need to wait until night falls – you can do this on a bench installed near the passage to the castle territory.
Next, go up the stairs, turn right and go to the large building ahead, which is on The map is labeled “Wernworth Hall”. A guard will stop you before entering. If you have a mask on your face, you will be able to get inside without any problems. As soon as you do this, you will unlock the “Noble Party” achievement if you previously wore not only the mask, but also the tunic and pants of a courtier.
Note: If you approached the guard and he told you that there will be no masquerades today, then simply skip the time to the next night by dozing off on a bench or sleeping in a hotel (at home).
Where to find a false one -Lord
As soon as you go to the center of the hall, a cut-scene will begin in which you will be shown a man who has gone around the corner. It is useless to look for the false Lord at the ball, since you will not find him there, so turn towards the exit, but before reaching the doors, turn into the left corridor. Run forward until you see a hidden passage on the right side – in the pictures below we have shown its exact location.
There are no levers or buttons to interact with – just go through the stone door and then open the double doors ahead to exit onto the balcony. Turn right and run down the fortress wall, and then take the right passage to get into the Rose Manor brothel. Immediately after this, a cutscene will start, during which you will meet Wilhelmina, who will save you from the guards.
Then the owner of the entertainment establishment will show you the false Lord, who is an ordinary puppet of Disa. You will also see a certain Lord Phaezus. After completing the video, you will receive from Wilhelmina a Myrmekoleon card, allowing you to use the services of the brothel.
Next you will need to return to Brant in the tavern and tell him about the masquerade. As a result, the task will come to an end, and as a reward you will receive 900 experience points, 6,500 gold and a fragment of the awakening stone.
