A message, which is written using the Teyvat alphabet, appears on the monitor (or phone) screen after the Traveler manages to reveal the identity of the missing person. It turns out to be Karibert, whose tragic story was told in one of the Archon’s previous tasks.
After transporting the main character to the very depths of his consciousness, he decides to leave a message for Atossa, who has been actively looking for him since the moment of his “disappearance”. The fact is that he did not manage to say goodbye to her personally. The message says the following:
- Farewell Atossa
- I apologize
- For making you find out about me
- Without your consent
- And yet I do not want
- For you to forget me
Who is Caribert
Caribert Alberich was a resident of Kaenri'ah who was cursed and turned into a hilichurl at some point. He was later sacrificed to create the Weave of Fate, a tool that can alter the arteries of the land.
The partially completed Weave of Fate was powerful enough to allow the remnants of Caribert's consciousness to alter the memories of the people living in Vimara Village, thus giving him a brief experience of normal village life. His influence on the villagers was great enough for them to gather and send a request to the adventurers' guild to search for him as soon as he “disappeared”.
Dialogues between Caribert and Atossa hint that a romantic relationship had developed between them relationships within fictional memories. Alberich considers time spent with a girl to be the most important part of his fictional life, so the picture with her is in the center.
At the end of the quest, Atossa assumes that Caribert has abandoned her, and struggles to cope with the idea that Caribert has “gone with his family.” The guy’s message indicates that until the very end of his loss of consciousness, he wanted the girl not to forget him, even though it might cause her pain.
