During the game, the weapons appear in this order, but some, such as a laser pistol, are easy to miss. We advise you to fully familiarize yourself with this material in order to understand during the passage in which part of the story you can pick up the toy you like.

Weapon upgrades in the game add more possible nodes in the upgrade tree, which can improve weapon characteristics such as damage, power, and reload speed, as well as enable special perks.
Each weapon has its own primary and secondary fire modes, the latter usually using more ammo.
It's important to remember that you only pick up ammo for weapons in your inventory. In order to replenish the stock of ammunition for your favorite combat devices during the game, you need to carry them with you, and those that you do not want to use, it is better to leave them in storage in the store.
By the way, when using all weapons except the flamethrower, your target should be the limbs of the Necromorph, and not his head or body – this way you will kill the enemy much faster. True, bosses such as the Hunter and Leviathan have their own characteristics, so they require different combat strategies to defeat them.
The best weapons in Dead Space Remake
In the battle with certain types of enemies, certain weapons will be more useful than others, but otherwise the game allows you to build your arsenal based on personal preferences. We advise first of all to improve universal weapons with more affordable ammo for them, such as the pulse rifle, plasma cutter and power pistol.
After upgrading, the pulse rifle gets to the leading positions in terms of damage, but does not cope well with shooting off the enemy’s limbs. However, her secondary fire mode allows her to plant a mine that easily rips off parts of the Necromorphs, after which they can be dealt with in close combat or using other weapons. Upgrading the magazine of a rifle significantly increases the size of its clip, which, in conditions of limited inventory, allows you to use it more often.
The Laser Pistol is essentially an upgraded version of the Plasma Cutter, but the ammo is much more expensive and the magazine itself is smaller. The Plasma Cutter requires more accuracy, but its ammo is much more common, so if you're a good shooter, it's best to go for it.
< p>The power pistol stands out for its unique ability to withstand a whole crowd of opponents. When there is no time to aim, or if the fight has moved to close range, he is always ready to buy you a few precious seconds by tearing off several limbs from Necromorphs per shot (when enchanted) so that you can run away from enemies to a safe distance.

Plasma Cutter
You will find this combat tool during the passage of the first chapter, literally at the very beginning, when you separate from the main group and run away from your first Necromorph.
The Plasma Cutter is a precision weapon that can be used successfully for most of the game to cut off the limbs of monsters. You can also use an additional fire mode to change the plane of the sight, which makes it easier to shoot individual parts from opponents.
A pack of 6 charges for a plasma cutter will cost you 1200 credits.
Pulse Rifle (Pulse Rifle)
It lies near a corpse in the area of the Medical Tram Station, where you will first enter after the start of the second chapter, completing the task to obtain level 1 clearance.
The high rate of fire and accuracy of the Pulse Rifle is best suited for targeted shooting at behemoths, for example, for hitting the weak points of a Necromorph with explosive growths. But if you encounter an enemy that does not have sensitive zones, you can try an additional fire mode – it places a mine, the detonation of which is almost guaranteed to deprive the enemy of a limb.
By the way: after installation, the pulse rifle mine can be taken back. To do this, aim at it and press the additional attack button.
A pack of 25 charges for a pulse rifle will cost you 1250 credits.
Pipe cutter (Ripper)
This tool awaits the player in the Engine Shop. Isaac will make his first visit here in Chapter 3, refueling the engines during the quest “Refuel the Engines (South)”.
Holding down the main fire mode button allows you to use the pipe cutter like a regular circular saw, although not for its intended purpose, but for cutting off the limbs of Necromorphs. This won't stop them from attacking you back, so it's best to get close to enemies from behind, or freeze them first before attacking.
When using the additional shooting mode, the pipe cutter releases only one circular disc, which ricochets off various surfaces. This attack is especially useful when clearing a group of enemies in a small room – in this case, the targets are hit multiple times, which greatly increases the total damage of the shot.
A pack of three charges for the pipe cutter costs 1500 credits.
Flame thrower
The flame thrower can be picked up near the entrance to the tunnel leading to the fuel storage. When completing the objectives of the third chapter, you will get here after turning on the centrifuge to manually start the engines.
The Flamethrower is great for taking out the little crawling creatures that spawn after opening certain monsters. It is also useful to cover with a stream of fire groups of opponents without vulnerable points. The secondary attack fires a projectile that creates a high wall of fire on detonation.
A pack of 25 flamethrower rounds will cost you 1750 credits .
Contact Beam
The Power Cutter can be found in the Records Office in the Administrative Bay – access to this section is unlocked during the passage of the fourth chapter. Level 2 clearance is required to unlock the office door. You will get to this place when you pass through the vacuum zone, completing the task of redirecting energy – “Reroute power from the Mining Administration”.
The Power Cutter fires a continuous beam of energy that can easily sever the limbs of enemies or explode certain Necromorphs by hitting their weak points. Although he performs better in this role than a plasma cutter or a laser gun, his ammo consumption is extremely high.
On hold the second firing mode, the power cutter accumulates a charge, after which it fires a powerful shot. This charged attack is great against bosses like Leviathan.
One charge of the Power Cutter will cost you 2000 credits.
Line Gun
The laser pistol is locked in the Emergency Equipment Storage in the Medical Bay. Level 2 clearance is required to enter the premises. You will first get here during the escape from the Hunter in chapter 5, but you can return and retrieve the weapons later.
The laser pistol is very handy for shooting off the arms and legs of monsters, and its additional attack launches a laser mine, which, when properly placed, copes with this task even better, tearing off several pieces of mutant flesh at once with an explosion. As with the Pulse Rifle, this mine can also be removed once planted.

The last weapon on our list can be picked up in the West Seedling Room A, Hydroponics, where Isaac will be in the sixth chapter after the monster fight in a spacious room with an elevator.
