In Palworld, a large tree is a unique object located on a remote northern island. Many players are wondering how to get to it, whether it can be done, and what exactly it is needed for. In this article we will try to answer them by revealing a couple of theories regarding the purpose of this tree.

What is the giant tree in Palworld
Although the game cannot yet boast of rich lore or a deep plot, however, in the wanderer's notes, which can be studied in the “Note” section, you can find several clues as to what exactly this huge tree is. The note on Day 6 notes that this is most likely a reference to the World Tree, which is mentioned in many myths and legends.
The wanderer hypothesized that it is this tree that shrouds the Palpago Islands in fog, preventing people from the outside world from discovering them and the rare Pals living on them. In addition, it can power the towers scattered throughout the archipelago. Let us remind you that bosses sit in them.
Palworld aside, the World Tree is often associated with themes such as maintaining balance and harmony in space. Sometimes its roots and branches are seen as a connection between the physical and spiritual worlds. According to some beliefs of Indo-European shamans, on this tree there is a giant bird that hatches shamans on the branches. Perhaps in the game the tree is the birthplace of all Pals.
How to get to the big tree in Palworld
Although players can see the tree from afar already in the first half of the game, it is impossible to get to it, since the developers have not yet completed this location, so it is a restricted area. However, you can still reach this area if you wish. To do this you will need a high level flying Pal, such as Jetragon.
If you don’t have such a creature, then you can simply give the existing pal such passive skills as “Legend”, “Skilled Runner” and “Sprinter”, which will be enough to overcome the barrier. These passives can be introduced through crossing. So, head to the northernmost teleportation point called “Permafrost Land” and then start flying northwest.
You'll soon come across a red wall that you can't get around, but you can fly over it – just start climbing up until you see the end of the barrier. Land on it to catch your breath, and then continue flying forward towards the island until you reach the tree.
Do not base on an island with a large tree
It's entirely possible to set up a base on the island where the World Tree is located, but the PR manager from Pocket Pair advised players not to do this as it would be a waste of time. According to him, this zone is closed for a reason and will most likely be redone in the future, so all buildings on it will simply be removed in the next updates.
However, even without taking into account the possible removal of all buildings, creating a base on the island is still pointless, since now there are no resources or Pals on it. You will only be able to protect the camp from random raids.
Theories about the purpose of the giant tree
Some players have already begun to build theories about what exactly this giant tree will turn out to be in the future. Many of them are sure that in fact it shows the center of the map (which sounds quite logical, given the true meaning of the World Tree), that is, the already large world of Palworld will become truly huge in the future.
It is highly likely that this tree will have other functions besides showing players where the center of the map is. This is indicated by the manager's words that this area will be developed in the future. Perhaps some kind of settlement will even appear here.
