In Genshin Impact, the precious chests in the Sea of Ancient and the Nostoi region are the second rarest caskets, containing Source Stones, Blight Stones, Hydro Seals, and useful materials. You can find them while exploring areas added to the game with the release of update 4.6. In this guide, we will show their location and tell you how to open them.

Where to find all the precious chests in the Sea of Antiquity and the Nosta region
In the indicated areas you can find 20 precious chests. Some of them are located in visible places, while others are hidden in secret areas, requiring solving riddles, completing missions, fighting monsters, or performing other actions.
The map above shows the approximate location of these treasuries in the marked locations. Next we will look at their receipt in more detail. Please note that you can gain access to the Dilapidated Castle and Remuria by completing the quest chain “Ode to Harmony”, so we advise you to complete it first, and only then start looking for chests.
Precious Chest 1
- Area: Dilapidated Castle
You can find it behind a mysterious shelf, the entrance to which opens after finding the lost grimoire. We talked about this in more detail in a separate guide (paragraph about enchanted passage 5). Note that inside you will have to fight with the Praetorian, so take well-pumped fighters.
Precious chest 2-3< /h3>- Area: Dilapidated Castle
They are awarded for completing a challenge with an unpredictable scene, during which you will need to collect bubbles of notes, using the power of an ancient symphony and avoiding lightning striking your character. We talked about this in more detail in a separate guide.
Precious chest 4
- Area: Dilapidated Castle
Also located behind the mysterious shelf (look in the paragraph about enchanted passage 4), which opens with a lost grimoire. Go inside, go upstairs to the next room and deal with the three Praetorians. After this, a chest will appear in the room.
Precious chest 5
- Area: Dilapidated Castle
Again, you can find it behind the mysterious shelf. To do this, you will have to climb to the very top of the location, using crystals and floating blue slabs. We talked about this in more detail in a separate guide (flying book 8).
Precious chest 6
- Area: Gate of Janus
Move to the northern teleport of the indicated location, and then go up. You'll soon see two anemones and two spiral octopuses on a ledge. Swim up to the latter and select the “Play together?” option.
Next, you will need to pass the test by swimming through 13 aqua rings in 80 seconds. There is nothing difficult about this, since the flow will guide you in the right direction – just go through the blue circles. At the end, you will unlock the chest and can take its contents.
Precious chest 7
- Area: Capitol Hill
Move to the southeastern teleport of the indicated location and lower the camera down – ahead you will immediately see a platform with two anemones and a locked chest. Swim up to the octopus and select the “Start Challenge” option.
You will need to swim through 14 aqua rings in 120 seconds. The current will guide you in the right direction, so you just need to adjust your movements to go straight through the blue circles. At the end, you will unlock the chest and can take its contents.
Precious chest 8
- Area: Capitol Hill
Swim west from the previous chest and go down to the cliff covered with algae. Here you will find a red challenge marker – interact with it. You have to defeat 7 opponents, spending no more than two and a half minutes.
To do this, take the skill of the xenochrome jellyfish (click on it with LMB) floating nearby. By launching bombs at enemies, you can kill several creatures at once. By the way, mines can stop crabs when they make dashes in your direction. After destroying all the monsters, you will receive a precious chest.
Precious chest 9
- Area: Gardens of Evergetia
Teleport to the northern waypoint of the indicated area, and then swim upward in a southern direction. Soon you will see a rift ahead, and there will be anemones standing on the ledges. If you look down, you will see three octopuses surrounded by enemies. Kill all enemies (you can use the xenochrome jellyfish skill).
Once you destroy all the enemies (crabs and chubby ones), the chest you need should appear below.
Precious chest 10
- Area: Gate of Janus
Move to the northern teleport of the location, and swim a little to the northwest, having previously climbed up. Ahead you will find an octopus and corals. Interact with the echofish to highlight interesting places. In three of them you will find spiral octopuses that need to be brought to the corals.
Note that one of the octopuses on the way to the “flowers” will be stopped by enemies, so you will need to kill them. As soon as the octopuses start singing melodies to the corals, the barrier from the chest will immediately fall down.
Precious chest 11
- Area: Court of Harmony
Teleport to the northwest waypoint of the location, then swim north a little and interact with the red challenge marker. Before this, take the ability from the xenochrome octopus swimming nearby.
You will need to hit the targets forward with spheres of potential energy without exploding the barrels floating around. To do this, you need to use a previously acquired skill. Hold the skill key longer to accelerate the sphere as much as possible (the scale of arrows shows the power of the throw).
After making three targeted shots, you will complete the challenge and receive a precious chest as a reward.
Precious Chest 12
- Area: Street of Nobility
From the previous chest, swim strictly north, below you will notice another red test mark. Interact with her and start collecting blue particles. You will need to collect a certain number of spheres, and you need to do this before the anglerfish – to do this, start swimming right in front of him to prevent him from picking up the remaining balls.
Note that this test must be completed 3 times before you receive the precious chest.
Precious chest 13
- Area: Street of Nobility
From the last chest, swim even further north to the octopus and the sphere of potential energy. Take the skill from the octopus, then swim into the golden circle to begin the challenge.
You will need to launch the sphere into the rings in time when they float next to each other – we advise you to make a throw in advance, since the ball needs about a second more to reach the targets. After making three successful throws, you will receive a precious chest.
Precious chest 14
- Area: Gate of Janus
Move to the central teleporter of the indicated area, and then begin to swim down towards the huge round hole at the bottom. Swim into the funnel and start the test – you need to swim through 12 aqua rings in one and a half minutes. At the end of the swim you will receive a reward.
Precious chest 15
- Area: Gate of Janus
Teleport to the southern waypoint of the marked location, and then move west into the gorge with the statues. Here you will find a puzzle with autoharmonic pipes. We examined it in detail in a separate guide (the third in a row).
Precious chest 16
- Area: Gate of Janus
Return to the previous teleporter, but now swim south and you will soon notice a red challenge marker on the ledge – interact with it. You will need to collect 26 Hydro particles in 180 seconds.
First, collect 3 particles above the anemone, and then enter the water ring. Along the way you will collect 4 more particles. Pick up the 5 orbs above the second anemone and enter the next ring, picking up the 5 particles. Then collect 5 particles above the third anemone and at the end enter the last ring to collect the remaining marbles.
Precious chests 17-19
They are given out as part of the quest “The Last Day of Remuria” when you remove the chains from Scylla. You won't miss them.
Precious Chest 20
- Area: Caesarium
To get it, you need to interact with the Nameless Stone Statue in the indicated location, and then pass its test by fighting a bunch of vishaps. When you complete the challenge, the barrier from the passage ahead will fall, and you will be able to enter the cave, where you will find several chests, including a precious one.
