Strategic dice in Genshin Impact: how to pass challenges and score 2000 points in a duel

Strategic dice in Genshin Impact is one of the stages of the «Duel! To the heights of card mastery!» in update 3.7. In it, players will test their combat skills in the arena and fight against opponents using special power-ups in the form of elemental and universal card dice.

This guide will show you how to complete the Strategy Dice mini-game challenges and score 2000 points in a duel.

How to start the event

The event runs from May 25 2023 to June 12. There are 4 stages to be completed in total, which will open 2 days after the start of the previous one.

In order to take part in the Strategic Dice stage, you will need to fulfill a number of mandatory requirements that apply to the «Duel event itself! Card Mastery!»

• Achieve Adventure Rank 32 or higher;
• Complete the Archon quest «Escape from Rito Island» from the second volume of the storyline of the game;
• complete the world quest «Battlefield of dice, cards and cats».

To process the game event and its stages was more interesting and understandable, it is also recommended to do the following:

• complete the Archons quest «Akasha Pulse and Kalpa Flame» from the third volume of the storyline;
• complete the legends of Mona quest «What the stars of this world say»;
• complete the first chapter of the quest of legends Shogun Raiden «Thinking about frailty».

However, these conditions are not mandatory, you can skip them and proceed to the passage of the event using the «Quick start» function in the menu events.

Quest Strategic dice

After completing the prerequisites, proceed to Introductory Quest Strategic Dice.

Use the western teleporter of Mondstadt and fly over the Ordo Favonius to the decorated square. Talk to Fein waiting under one of the tents.

The adventurer will mention the Grand Prix of the Holy Summon King and briefly talk about the “Strategic Dice” mini-game, which combines elements of the Holy Summon of the Seven and normal battles. According to him, the main mechanic of the test will be the strategic use of dice in battle. As a reward for the introductory mission, you will receive:

The essence of the Strategic Dice challenges is to fight in the arena and defeat opponents, using not only a squad of characters, but also power-ups in the form of short-term buffs ov and elemental dice.

Choosing difficulty and medals

Before starting the passage, you need to set up a squad to participate in the test and select the difficulty of the stage, which determines the number and speed of accumulating points received for defeating opponents. There are 3 levels available:

• normal difficulty, x1 multiplier;
• medium difficulty, x2 multiplier;
• hard difficulty , x4 multiplier.

When setting up a squad, elemental dice are indicated, the chance of getting which will increase due to the presence of heroes of the corresponding element in the team.

For defeating each opponent, a certain number of points are issued, which are necessary to receive a reward. In total, 4 types of medals are available:

• bronze – for 500 points;
• silver – for 1000 points;
• gold – for 2000 points;
• Diamond – for outstanding achievements (approximately 5000+ points).

To receive all rewards, it is enough to score 2000 points in a duel, the diamond type of medal is not will not grant any additional prizes.

Suppressive Throw

During the battle, the elemental dice required to use the special ability «Suppressive Throw», which is activated by T key. When it is launched, all available dice will be spent, and a shock wave will sweep across the arena, causing huge damage to all opponents.

You can accumulate 4 dice in total. If the element of any of them does not correspond to the elements of the heroes in the squad, wait until a new game dice is received. It will replace the wrong one and is more likely to apply to the right element.

Using the super ability will not only cause a shock wave and damage the enemies around, but also replace the collected dice with a number of buffs. The more dice of the same element collected, the more powerful the wave and the buffs received.

Dice Strategy 1

To get 50 Source Stones, score 500 points. in a duel, which is possible on any stage difficulty. To collect all treasures including summon coupons, dial 2000 pts. in a duel. You can do it on easy difficulty, if you do not forget to use the strategy.

Do not choose the difficulty in the test above the average level of pumping characters in the squad, otherwise you will not have time to defeat the monsters and score points.

Stage Features

The level of opponents in a duel is 40/70/90on ×1/2/4 points multiplier of normal/hard/expert difficulties respectively.

2000 points on easy difficulty is gained by killing 68 normal and 8 elite opponents.

Dice randomly applies one of the Suppressive Throw buffs. The main buff of the round Suspension Spell increases the damage from the Growth and Escalate reactions for all characters in the party by 40%. The duration of the effect is 20 seconds.

General Buffs:

• Suppressive Throw: Suppression – Increases party members' attack power by 40% for 20 seconds.
• Suppressive Throw: Jade Glow – Increases the critical damage of all party members by 55% for 20 seconds.

Don't forget to activate Suppressive Throw on a character with the element of dice, which deals elemental damage in an area and provides buffs.

The easiest way to get the required amount of points is to line up a team with Dendro and Electro elements from the Growth and Escalate reactions, since the increase in damage from them will help you deal with opponents faster. You can make a squad without these elements, but in this case you will need pumped heroes who can quickly destroy enemies on the stage.

How to defeat enemies

The battle will start with easy opponents, after killing them, elite enemies will be added, for them more points are already given, and so on in a circle. The order of the waves of opponents is generated randomly, but this combination is more common:

At the very beginning, several ordinary hilichurls will appear on the arena, after killing them, elite opponents will join the battle, most likely 2 mitachurla with a fire ax.

Then the wave may repeat, and after killing another group of hilichurls, a geowishap will appear. An elite monster can take off into the air and land on a pre-illuminated area, and is also able to absorb the elements around it.

Following another wave of simple hilichurls, a stone-shelled Lavachurl joins the fight. The elite enemy is covered by a Geo shield and deals powerful damage. Large Hydro Slime and Electro Shamachurl have a high chance to meet at the conclusion of the level.

• 120,000 Pestilence;
• 2 Hero Experience books;
• 4 Magic enhancement ores.
